We used the now-patched Chaos Reach glitch to get the gun gone. And the rest was accomplished by hours upon hours of painstaking effort. And also having enough people in an instance so that no one else could matchmake in. lol

We've been seeing some of the crayon titans people are posting on reddit. Love it. Perhaps they will inspire a new storyline. The show will come back though, we hope soon.

@@ZeonRemnants It's a combination of both. Sometimes we use plates, sometimes it's just a shot. For the poster and the voting shots, we just filmed the characters walking up and doing their thing and I add the composite elements (vote screen & poster) and rotoscoped any part of the character that was in front of the object frame-by-frame. It's pretty rare that I'll have to shoot a clean plate of something, but typically when I do it's for shots where I'm combining group shots out of multiple takes where we can only get two characters in at a time, and that's so I can erase footsteps or anything like that. For instance, every shot in the sparrow racing segment in Maevic Square of Episode 7 that has more than two people in it was composited together in that fashion.

@@Mobomu ahh gotcha! thanks for the detailed answered. ironically i think i left off at the end of ep 6 lol so ill be on the look out for that scene in ep 7. ive been working animation into my machinima as well for next season so its really cool to see what people can accomplish with adobe and the in game engine etc. top notch its the little things that make the show come alive

I can ask our sound designer and if you jump in the discord we usually answer all sorts of questions like that! Most I can tell you myself is that it's an EQ filter that we just played around with until it sounded right in Pro Tools. You could do the same thing on any DAW that has an EQ filter. I'd do a google/youtube search for "Walkie Talkie EQ Effect" and play with it from there.

We haven't recorded much BTS from actually filming, but we're figuring out a setup to do just that. We will be putting out some BTS/making of videos when Season 1 finishes.

Abandon all hope. It's unfortunately very difficult just because of the way Destiny is and the complete lack of tools implemented by Bungie. We used to have some fairly decent exploits to get the camera, but they patched all those so now we have to rapidly swap between two low-profile submachine guns to get most shots or use the current Nova/Grenade exploit that is very limited in usability. The current state of trying to make a show like this in Destiny is why it takes us longer to get episodes out now. There's some videos out about the Nova/Grenade glitch if you search, but just be prepared for it to be a lot more work than you expect. We'll be putting out a video series of how we make Haphazard Heroes once the Season 1 run has ended.

You can join our discord (link and the description) and jump in for filming. It's been a bit slow lately though with Herc, the main creator of the show, back working 60hrs a week at his job, but we still film when we can and always welcome more hands to help out. It's not really role play though, all the character's are scripted and the voice over is pre-recorded.

Appreciate your feedback. We're quite happy with how the show is progressing. You'll notice similarities to those characters and others from other shows, because they're archetypes. Rook is similar to Caboose/Charlie/Kramer/Joey/Patrick Star, the dumb guy. Same with every other character, because well that's how archetypes work. But as the show continues and fleshes out, our characters grow and fill their boots as their own unique versions of these archetypes. The comparisons to Red vs Blue are unavoidable because of the medium and I'd be an outright liar if I said we weren't influenced by RvB (hence the hat tip at the beginning of the episode), but they aren't nearly our only influence. The RvB characters stand out to you as exemplars of those archetypes because that show's been around for over a decade. Our pilot establishes a concept for our show and the rest of the show builds on that concept. We'd be curious to see if you feel the same way after watching all the available episodes and even more so after the season has concluded (it's just shy of being halfway through).

I still liked it , its editing, camera angles, and sound design when it comes to helmets and distances are really outstanding. Heck it rose to the top search of "Destiny machinima" within 5 months. Machinima creator's like me could Learn alot from things like this.
