the physics of the world of one piece are definitely a bit crazy, but yes, there are actual superpowers in the show. also, while the main vibe is that of wonder at the exploration of a huge and gorgeous world, one piece is also pretty serious in its political themes and interpersonal drama.
@@fandomsearcher And just so you know, the first opening basically showcased, where the talking part is, the previous Pirate King, Gol D. Rodger. And before he was executed, his words drove people to the seas. He had everything anyone could one: fame, power, treasure. And before he died, he said: "You want my treasure? You can have it. Find it! I left everything in one piece." Thus, his treasure became known as the One Piece. And it came to be known that anyone that finds it will become the next pirate king.
One Pieces isn't just my favorite anime, it's my favorite story of all time. Unfortunately it's also so epic that I can't explain it with words, it can only be described by watching or reading. 😅
I’ll also drop some neat little fun fact about one piece for ya 1 oda the author is within the 9 best selling authors of all time 2 one piece is close to becoming the best selling comic book of all time only after Superman who’s first volume was over 60 years earlier 3 one piece is so massive in Japan that there are irl monuments dedicated to it
I’m going to say a few of the biggest videos that people always want to show people to get them into one piece 1 breathtaking world of one piece - purely the visuals of the world to show its beauty without spoiling the story 2 why you should watch/ read one piece - some outdated info at this point (was from before 2020) but it’s a good description of the show 3 why you should start one piece in 2022 - a shorter more updated version of #2
One Piece is literally a modern epic in every way save that it isn't written as a poem. The story is grand and sweeping in scope both in the story it's telling and the themes it explores. And yet, despite that, the premise of the story still remains simple and pure: it is a call to adventure, to seek freedom and fun through exploring the world with your friends. That core of the show, just like Luffy's main goal of becoming the king of the pirates, remains true throughout the series and keeps it surprisingly coherent and understandable at its core even while it spins a tale that is so grand.
It's nice that from the get go , you guessed that there is no way it would just be relaxing and goofy traveling for over 1000 episodes . Of course there would be more serious moments and arcs , and of course as stakes appears and increases , those would happen even more often . The show is pretty much the real and legit successor to the original Dragon Ball tone wise ... and the longer it gets it shifted into more serious battle content like DBZ did , but unlike DBZ did not lose its way and roots
To answer your last question , yes 13-24 will spoil a lot . The biggest ones are stuff you may or may not guess with limited hints and no context . The rest is mostly fight related , such as the forms , appearances of powerups or characters . But most of it should be stuff you'll easily forget having not watched the show yet , and with over 1050 eps
45:10 Funny you say that you don't have to worry about the designs of the characters. I guess you wouldn't know it from the outside looking in. The entirety of one piece cast are EXTREMELY well designed weather they be a complicated character or a simple character. Oda doesn't miss on his character designs and expression therein using minute details.
one piece has "superpowers" but probably not in the way you think or the way other anime do it, its one of the first power systems in anime and weirdly enough almost no other anime have copied it/replicated.
Actually, the ship doesn't fly. Instead, to paraphrase that one episode of Samurai Jack, it "jumps good". In fact it can jump a full Kilometer forward.
one piece is complex, and has a detailed world, with many foreshadowing, one thing that happens in chapter 20 probably will be important in chapter 100, 300 or beyond, the limits in oda's mind don't exist
it's just happy looking from outside, one piece a deep story, i also thought it would be a happy journey at first but- the racism, discrimination, political depth, slavery, cannibalism, human trafficking and many more factors of the story make it really deep and close to my heart.
It isn’t our world. So it isn’t our timeline. All is mixed. You have pirates, but also at the same time, kinds of telephones, giant screens, technologies that allow ships to fly, steam trains, cyborgs, etc. In short, no need to try to apply our story to that of One Piece. You can find repositories from each era at the same time.
One piece is an intimidating show to interact with especially when you don’t know much about it. I love the series I’ve been watching since I was a child. There are a few additional openings that aren’t in this playlist that are also fan favorites for many people One piece ep 1000 opening, 4kids pirate rap and the German opening 1. (For context 4kids was the original English dub for the show and it censored everything it could to make it for children)
@@fandomsearcher I did grow up with it and honestly it was different but they only dubbed up till around ep 140, they did cut enough content they only released around 120 eps
yeah, it's a long Anime, but not the longest surprisingly, there are actually a few that are longer than One Piece, the most notable being Detective Conan, which has been around as long as The Simpsons.
I'd like to recommend the Gintama openings, whenever you have time since it's also a long one, 21 openings, I'm just curious what you think it is about by watching them, and of course the songs
@@fandomsearcher The crunchyroll compilation is the safe way to go if you can't tell the seasons apart just make sure that when you hit opening 17 you watch the 4th version and not the version thats in the video.
Despite the show's happy-go-lucky attitude, it can be quite dark. Heck, the manga is darker. Case in point, in one point, a foe with wax powers tries to restrain someone. In the anime, he formed wax shackles to restrain his arm. But in the manga, he formed a sword and stabbed it through that person's hand to restrain them. And I still hope to see your reaction to 14. Doubt you'll remember the spoiler by the time you got that far anyway, with how far into the show it is.
Think about the Odyssey by Homer, One Piece is basically the modern version, with less misoginy and gooffy AF. Also oda inspires himself from a lot of world myths and it's amazing!
One Piece is the greatest story ever written, but I'd suggest catching upto it after watching other shows so you can actually compare and appreciate the story and world building of One Piece ❤
to answer one of your questions, i cant say that it fits any sort of time period, but Oda has taken inspiration from pirate legends, such as Blackbeard, John Silver, and so on.
Nope, tbh I only watched Pokemon when I was a kid because we didn't have the then fancy channels on our TV. But one of my friends was obsessed with Naruto back then so it's still kinda nostalgic for me 😂
Are you gonna react to One Piece endings as well? There is a lot of people reacting the openings, but those who reacted endings, you can count on fingers...
Read the manga and/or what the anime. You will understand and everything will make sense, when you join and become one of us. Yes... become... one... of... us... No really, this anime/manga is fantastic. It does have its highs and lows but overall, there is absolutely nothing like it out there at the moment and I doubt there ever will be. I'm way into deep since 1999/2000. You'll see for yourself. 1000+ chapter/episodes might sound anlot, but when you catch up, you wish for a 1000 more to come.
Watching one second of one piece from Crunchyroll youtube is better than that because the first few openings don't tell you anything about what's going on in the anime.
@@HaohmaruHL I know it’s not our earth. I was off by 21 years though. It takes place in 1522. Mont blanc noland’s logbook is dated 1120 and that time period took place 400 years prior to the current events. Which would place the story pre time skip at 1520 and post time skip 1522
