He does get it but he has to ask diferente questions and those questions have the same answer and yet he has to ask the question in different ways because people perceive information in different ways :..

So sometimes I visualise some of these officials and take their fear, anger and hatred. And I give altruism (kindness) and patience to them. It is helpful to my own peace of mind. On Aug 4, 2020, the Dalai Lama did a video called 'In Praise Of Dependent Origination - Day 1'. 10,27 minutes in DL said ''In Tibetan Buddhism, sometimes very advanced Tantric adepts choose to take any of the '3 poisons' (attachment, anger and lust) into their path. (Usually they are to be eliminated). The adepts like neutralising the poisons and transforming them into medicine''. I wonder if this is the same as 'tonglen' ?
The Dalai Lama said that after sight, touch, smell, hearing and touch, the 6th level of mind consciousness includes dream time, knowledge of past lives, prediction and emotions. Destructive emotions like anger and fear come from here and are based on APPEARANCE. The antidote (cure) is other emotions like compassion and altruism, which are based on REASON (logic). Meditation helps with this. Forgiveness is the best way to keep peace of mind. Don't seek retaliation (revenge).
@@tanjawedell6671 His Holiness said he had 4 commitments, and after saying the first 2, the 'comedian' asked a second time if he thinks about sex (or something). !?! I wish the D.L. would just do non-live talks directly to the camera (his followers). Pre-scripted and edited is fine. In English, instead of translated, is most precious. 30 minute talks with no questions. Then, no doubt, the best inspiration will flow through him, out into the wider world, for future benefit.
His Holiness sees through everything AND through the caller; but HE still appears very loving and genuine to his caller who seems to be not very patient, respectful, and not open to listen or learn. Interestingly, the Holiness was speaking to him directly for his own sake, if he is blessed to recognize that (inner world, calm mind, analytical meditation, not pay attention too much about the external world, not too much anger, bad for mental and physical health...)
We need patience with self, every person has their own lesson to learn. When we are ready there is a teacher for us. It can be a spiritual guide or a neighbor. We see the example of loving beings everywhere. We must slow our mind our inner being to observe how to truly live in our surroundings.

What a delightful conversation - Eugenio and His Holiness discuss some very interesting topics and you can tell they are very comfortable with each other. The conversation flowed so well that at times it felt like I was ease dropping on two friends chatting.... I learned so much today and I have followed His Holiness for decades
I agree with you! Eugenio is asking questions that are relevant for a mainstream audience, topics of every day life. The people criticizing him should learn to share grace and they should be happy that the message of peace from the Dalai Lama is reaching every day people who may not necessarily follow this theology or way of life. This should be about knowledge, care and peace and most commenters are sitting on a high horse looking down and everyone else including the interviewer for not having their level of understanding. This attitude goes completely against everything the Dalai Lama is saying.

Most people in the comment section express their opinions as if they are illuminated beings with a higher level of understanding. Many seem to be big followers of the Dalai Lama and Buddhism yet they are attacking the interviewer with rage and criticizing him non stop. For such wise and illuminated beings shouldn’t you show a bit more compassion? If you’ve been studying this philosophy longer than the rest of us perhaps you can set an example by showing some grace and by being able to extract the great wisdom showed by the Dalai Lama on this interview and look pass the noise of the stuff you disliked about the interviewer. Let’s share light and love and leave attacks and criticism aside for once. 🙏🏽
Om Swastiastu, now many peoples look good, smart, kind, but no have strong mental and now have a hearth, all full politic to get something. I agree with Holiness Dalai Lama. I feel sad when peoples just thinking about material only, but no have a mind of wisdom, many have many faces to hide the bad inside. Om
HH Dalai Lama is so amazing and intelligent! ☺️ He has so much grace in his talk. But interviewer is so dull and seems that he is barely getting any idea about what is His Holiness talking about so he only can help us to develop more compassion towards such.
La verdad es que al principio no podía creer que fuera cierto que el dalai lama concedió una entrevista a este "comediante". Así que vi el video y resultó que sí. No cabe duda que practica la paciencia y la compasión, porque al oír tales preguntas tontas de alguien que se ve que la idea que tiene del budismo es como de meme de new age, yo la verdad le hubiera dicho que no tenía idea del budismo... Pero qué buena estrategia del dalai lama, cambiar el tema y dar otra respuesta jaja... o será que en verdad no entendía las tontadas que le preguntaba...
Gratitude of what is, Accepting what we have, Knowing what is enough, Feeding mind, body, carrying unconditional love in our soul. No judgement of self or others. Forgiveness, of human learned traits. Focus to be the best each day, without ego, fear, anger, jealousy. I am me, yet i am a piece of 7 + billion family members on this world. I have responsibilities to all life, to maintain balance, learn about everything, i can and share the knowledge so that we can live in harmony. All caring for our piece of this earth, The ground we stand on, the water we drink, the solid and invisible blessings we recieve and air that we breathe.
As science states matter cannot be created nor destroyed. So every particle that existed at the big bang, exists today, and will continue to exist in the future in the universe. Does Buddhism basically state that consciousness has always existed in the past, present, and future? At the most subtle level of consciousness did Buddha realize we are all sharing a part of that one greater universal beginningless and ever endless consciousness? So dose that mean all sentient beings can connect and realize this state of subtle consciousness with enough contemplation, patience, and compassion for every sentient being that is a part of this universal consciousness?
Altogether fascinating although a lot of the time the 'answers' and the questions were bypassing each other with barely a wave only just sometimes bumping into each other some questions later partly by chance but what quantity of part I dont know. Like I dont know how much is to do with awkwardnesses in translating, HHDL taking the merest excuse to leap on to one of his favorite subjects or Eugenio insisting on his own curiosity, like the final questions about lerv, sex and all that and how could anyone possibly bear to live without it! I'd have been more interested in hearing HHDL get drawn out to expand on his views about the processes and proceedures of modern educational systems.

For those who criticize Derbez, please show us all how you managed to perfect your acting craft and make a living from it while still avoiding Televisa and the political parties. Please show us. And then let’s together show the Dalai Lama how we know better than him in who deserves to interview him. That will be so correct and so respectful I can hardly wait...
Education is materialist driven producing workers. Education of the mind and emotions as well ss individual personal development, wellness and well being is let out as well as interpersonal relationship and soft skills. The are too busy hearding people like cattle with ribotic transactions which is dehumanizing a human being. Yet, they wonder why we had a sick society with emotional problems. This plus a break down in the traditional family unit and family unity and values.

Where is the "I". Interiewer clueless as to what is being referenced. Seperation vs connected is man made learned divisions of social status, religion, politics, gender, color. All of which creates barriers of conflict. Unhealthy competition vs healthy. Seeing everyone as human beings, as family members, then barriers drop. Looking to what's wellbeing for all humans rather than dividing issues mention above. Competition is on how to enhance wellbeing. Competition within the self to self improve. Working inward then out to others. Selfishness vs selfless Balance and descernment. Self preservation, personal responsibility, self sustsining, self reliance. Self nurturing, self care and love. Once self is learned then you can share with others, using descernment. Good judgement. Seeing the nature and essence of all things. Learning to respond rather to react. Acceptance of what is. Changing what you can and accepting what you cannot change. Striving for all wholesome goodness for self and others. Positive changes takes time and consistant practice. Sexual love as attachment. Yet we're social. Genuine altruism without attachment? Attachment brings responsibility. The Dalai lama did not want this personal responsibility he stated. He only wanted to be responsible for himself. To take care of himself. I would like to know if the Dali lama has emotional attachments to himself or anyone?
'Genuine altruism without attachment?" Genuine altruism brings responsibility, sound responsiblity, and self-less love, compassion. "Attachment brings responsibility" brings craving, sufferance, dominance, greed. Please listen again to what the Dalai Lama expressed and has been demonstrating his entire life. He wants to devote himself to help other sentient beings. You got it backward.
@@diesel7589 No I do not have it backwards. He himself stated they needed to be out in the real world and not on a compound. His methods needs to be within the family and real world structure. Family is suspose ti be where reproduction and child development takes place. This is the FULL TIME RESPONSIBILY HE DID NOT WANT. He wanted to teach others from a distance for them to apply or not. He is protected snd sheltered. He has assistance in which many people do not have. Many of the concepts should be taught in and throught the public school system. It needs to be streamed lined and the woo woo removed.
