Amazing Video!!! and for the "story" behind play with fire... some people told it was about his carreer. He is amazing with his looks and popping moves... then the music muffles down and people say it was Hyunjin during the HIATES where he couldn't dance or perform of even be in public with the guys for over 4 months (during the Kingdom period) and after that the SMURK on his face was about he telling everybody: "I'm back and even better..." During his Hiates he tried a lot of other dance styles and he improved his contamperary dancing and he made the choreo for the Billie Eillish song! When the party's over, if im correct was dedicated to fans because, he couldn't meet stayy for a long time and he choreographed it with that emotion, which is something so special and beautiful and please correct me stays if im wrong! With "play with fire" he came back and showed the world why he is THE HWANG HYUNJIN, and why he is the extraordinary dancer he is! The fact that he choreographed these, says everything it needs to say, for me he is a genius! He embodies every emotion there is, perfectly moving his body to every tiny beat he can find! Hyunjin is extraordinary! In my eyes his one of the greatest dancers out there! There is so many things i can say about him, but i think he explains himself the best, with his dancing, his personality, charisma, stage presence,with his humanity, with his talent! i wish the most happiest birthday to this exceptional artist! Also he talks about the other dance videos he did and how he felt doing something without the rest of his group. He's very sweet but we already knew that.

So glad y'all saw these. Every single person that reacts to 1 of the holy trinity (When the Party's Over, Play with Fire, Motley Crew) ends up watching all 3 bc of Hyunjin's power in every single performance. Those 3 dances are the equivalent of Lisa (Blackpink) #1-4 + movie. Hopefully, you'll get to them eventually. BlackPink was my introduction to KPop. They led me to SKZ.

That! Play with fire frame is my favorite too!! That absolute maniacal smile on his face, like he's in his elements and he can do anything he wants (at this point i fully believe he can) just!!! So good!! His aotm leaves me genuinely breathless everytime i watch it. Hyunjins Play with Fire performance was his comeback video after taking a 6 month break because of something that was brought up about him from when he was a teen(if I’m not mistaken) and his “prince” like appearance in the beginning represents the fact that most only saw him as a pretty face and nothing more. A lot of people would call him “the prince” (which he doesn’t like being referred to as a prince because he knows that he’s more than just a pretty face) Throughout the song you see that he sheds that “sophisticated prince” appearance to show his true vulnerable and incredibly talented self. I personally love the fact that he was able to show that vulnerability through his performance but also show that he wasn’t going to let things get to him and come back stronger than ever. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HYUNJIN!!! 💜💜

happy hyunjin day!! this is so long i’m sorry but i love sharing things 😅 a few things(you may already know)heh: -psycho is mesmerizing. changbin said it’s his favorite fancam and that he usually doesn’t watch fancams but he watched hyunjins psycho 3-4 times. lee know also reacted to it live! -when the party’s over was hyunjin expressing his loneliness during covid when they could no longer see stay. he felt isolated and wanted to express that through dancing -play with fire was kinda his comeback from hiatus. he was in mixtape oh, yes, but this was after that and blew stayville to pieces. my interpretation: he starts out as a prince, with a clean image, but throughout the song and through dancing, he’s able to be his true self, becoming more and more ‘unkempt.’ Could be related to his idol image, the hiatus, etc. along with choreo, hyunjin also had a say in the outfit, cinematography, etc; play with fire was p much all hyunjin. and originally, he was going to do a backflip during the drop down part but felt dropping down was more impactful. which it was! there’s a ‘practice’ video he filmed to get div1 approval of the choreo he shared that has the backflip included (he doesn’t do it, just captions it in) more PFW fun facts: the stylist had to keep reapplying the belly button jewel, it kept falling off. the petals falling off the flower was unintentional but they liked it so they kept it. the buttons on his shirt coming undone was intentional (and killer lmao) -motley crew has a making of/behind the scenes!! i’d love love to see you react to it sometime (ik you’ve got to be busy filming wise haha) but it includes him talking about what dance is to him and shows the process of him learning the dance! it’s really cool. and mafia was indeed the theme he chose, you were spot on! have a good day if you made it to here haha 🫶🏻

It was one of the first videos published of him after his hiatus and I remember screaming so much because of how much I missed him and how extremely creative and unique this performance was. I love that you celebrate their birthdays with dedicated videos!! The trio of the two dance covers + AOTM is sacred, actually the "When The Party is over" one is my favourite because with that he basically became one of my bias wreckers. Btw who are your bias? I love you guys, I was laughing so hard 😂 Doing all of these in one reaction was a challenge, I would never made it out alive if I had to watch it all at once 🤧 I just want to give you a little bit of a look into the choreography that Hyunjin made for Play with fire, since everything, from the dance itself, through the song chosen, outfit chosen, tiding up his hair and even the props like mirror and the rose - all of these things were his idea. Play with fire is a story about beautiful prince (everyone's been refering to Hyunjin as a "prince" since the school) who is considered as just beautiful and elegant and perfect but he has a wild animal inside and his heart is full of fire, especially while he dances. That's why he looks so messy at the end, because every person has flaws and imperfections. At the beginning when he pops and chokes himself it's his true imperfect and wild nature coming out of him, breaking through the "perfect prince shell" and at the end he's choking himself again, silencing that wild nature that can't be released and he just walks away back to his schedules and normal work, back to trying to be perfect in the society and industry that requires perfection in every aspect. It's a dance about passion that burns within him but can't be fulfilled in the way he wants. As you know by now, Hyunjin has an artistic soul and he expresses himself through the art, making choregraphies, taking photos or drawing, and this is his own story he wanted to tell us after four months of being silenced and hidden. Hope it helped you to better understand this iconic dance and how much impact it had for us when it came out just 9 days after he'd returned to us 😢

32:30 I'm SO happy y'all checked this video out! It's one of those moments where I want everyone to see what a work of art he has done (he coreographed this). I do have a take on this video, since that was the first thing he pulled off after the hiatus because of the so called "bullying" accusations (those were ridiculous) - spoiler: it's a long thing: Did y'all notice the oufit that Hyunjin uses when he comes in? It's almost like a prince-esque type of look and most of princes in history are associated with what? Beauty. The image. Hence the mirror Hyunjin was looking while pulling his hair and tying it back with a ribbon - white ribbon (this is important). Most of the times KPOP idols have this "image" of beauty that they must keep and that keeps the people from seeing the true talent of the majority of these people - Hyunjin included. Then the chorus hits "I've always like to play with fire".. Hyunjin isn't known for being a melodical dancer, he's hard hitting and every move is crisp and sharp, burining up the stage but, at the same time, he's playing with us, slowing down some of his moves before hitting the sharp parts again, he's playing with us, like a match that's about to be lit. And did you notice another thing? The mirror is gone. Hyunjin isn't playing by the standarts anymore, he's not the "pattern" that people put him to be, he's not that same image, he's different, more mature. One other thing: 32:12 - 32:38 (on this video). He's not dancing to any beat, hence why there's no music, only small crackling sounds - fire burning. Hyunjin is playing again like the burning match being lit, when it catches that first grasp of power, then it crackles, then it comes back full force - his madness is rising like the fire. The white rose represents peace but, in some places, it's a symbol of being reborn.. of letting the time pass and heal the wounds so you can come back even harder, like a raging fire. And the white ribbon that I talked about earlier? Peace and rebirth within yourself. Hyunjin had the hiatus to focus on himself despite the troubles and to come back even stronger and harder like on this video. By the end.. the prince of the beginning is gone, he's in peace within himself and he became the Hyunjin that us stays know and love: The talented dancer, the incredible rapper and singer, the all rounder.. but also, the human. Hyunjin played with fire and it cleansed him and now he's better than ever.

I got so excited for this as soon as I saw it. I fell in love with all of those dancing videos and I had no idea that my Straykids and Ateez bias both would have an artist of the month, it wasnt planned. For the AOTM sadly he didn't choreographed this one, since it wzs filmed during Noeasy promotion so he didn't have the time to do it.
