You go girl! I kept in touch with my ex's mom, she was the sweetest lady in the entire world! She passed 2 years ago, it was the hardest funeral I've ever been to. Doesn't matter how you met, you gotta keep the good people in your life. I love that you have Kathy in your life! And Happy Birthday Kathy!!! 🎉
@thebalkanhistorian.3205 we did not end on the best of terms, but long story short, after he broke up with me he decided he made a mistake. I told him he'd need to work on himself because obviously he wasn't ready for a commitment. But we kept in touch, and it was mostly "friendly", but obviously I still had issues with the nonsense he put me through in our relationship. Tldr, it was complicated but wasn't weird to see him at the funeral lol
I'm still friends with my brothers ex-girlfriend - I knew her professionally before she and my brother started dating and really like her. Just because their love didn't work out doesn't mean our friendship has to fizzle out too. PS: they had an amicable break-up.

I feel like keeping relations with your ex's family or etc is never okay. in a way I think it does trouble the new girlfriend or wife. I had a friend she's new to this family and the sister and mother kept pushing bad on her because they prefer the ex of their son/brother. The ex made a elaborate plan to keep in touch with the in-laws to be more desirable. In they end they had to get divorced and ohoy ohoy husband had feelings for the ex real messy I know. They married. My friend is now so much happier n married with a baby!!! but I wouldn't want anyone to have the heartbreak she had. So I personally choose if I ever date and have a boyfriend I broke up with I cut off the entire whole family too. Now this is my experience hopefully she isn't like this.
