Can we talk about how top tier all of Happy Chaos's animations are, like they are all beautifully hilarious, I bet people are gonna main him just for his top tier personality.
I'm happy that happy chaos is dlc I love this man personally and appearance. I'm definitely maining him on the 30th he might be one of the only dlc characters in strive that will be top tier on release. As long as he's solid in game I'm gonna play him he looks too good not to play and unique.
The back dash clone could be rewarding in and of itself if it eats the hit. I know woolie plays nago but not everyone can be blessed with a 6 frame invuln back dash, so the clone eating hits might make meatying him much more difficult and give him a safe escape option (though it looked like the enemy could cancel attacks off it.)
The blue meter is definitely for the reticles, to have the auto-aimed shots you need blue meter otherwise he just has to aim and shoot in a straight line
Happy Chaos in my opinion made a lot of sense, especially given leaks, and I am honestly very excited for one of them. SPOILERS BELOW: I really can't wait to see Slayer, and if Baiken gets a redesign I'd be interested, she kinda pushes it for me despite her moveset being awesome.
SPOILERS/POTENTIAL LEAKS BELOW: I don't know how you'd redesign Slayer who already looks swag. Maybe give him a drippy suit. For Baiken, if you keep the jacket from Xrd, im already satisfied. An option to keep/remove the eyepatch could be cool. I like it but the exposed scar is also a cool look.
@@leithaziz2716 Slayer is good as is. But I hope they do something more like Baiken's original Guilty Gear design for their outfit, something a lil less fan service for me, like Ino got, something that makes it more like Ino/Giovanna.
@@GeebzGBZ Keep the jacket and long hair and im set. I get Baiken's fanservice is a bit counter intuitive to her design, but I still prefer the attire itself in Xrd compared to her XX look which I found a bit eh. Blend elements from both versions and you get the best outcome.
Was there a leak indicating that Slayer and Baiken were going to be part of pack 1? Pack 1 seems to be exclusively characters who showed up in the story mode which would indicate that Asuka or President Vernon would be up next. Given how we're getting a story update for the final character, that one seems to be a character who isn't in the story which makes me think it's going to be Bedman's sister.
10:10 I'm pretty sure the reason they're different colors is because they're a different move entirely. Blue would be the slash version where you have mobility while shooting and heavy is when it turns orange, guard breaks, and pops them up for combos, but while sacrificing movement since he stances up while doing it.
I also noticed that not only did that gimmick meter go down with each shot Happy makes, it also slowly seemed to be going down on its own over time, as well.
it definitely looks like his gun can hit anywhere on screen but he has to line up the shots first, so he cant just spam the gun he has to play keepaway to set up

Im gonna make an asspull and guess that maybe Slayer's the last character. Maybe a big plotline about him and Nagoriyuki, two vampires. I assumed Asuka, but he's already gone to the moon with Fred and Jack-O so that aint a possibillity unless the last DLC is not connected to the story at all. The only other threads I can think of is Bedman's sister, Delliah, maybe seeking revenge, or a completely new character introduces the next story.
I don't particularly care for Happy Chaos but I'm happy for the people that do. I just wanted to say the tournament was hype af and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, glad we got a semblance of normalcy back after these few years
I gotta say that Woolie is 100% wrong about Elphelt's sniper stance being good for zoning, all it was useful for was setting up unblockables, she could never keep someone out with it because the cursor moved far too slow to keep someone out who played for more than 20 hours. There's no way he ends up being a good zoner, in my mind, and he seems a lot more like Naoto Shirogane or Noel Vermillion than he does Elphelt so idk where the comparisons are coming from besides "gun", which is weird cuz shotgun is Elphelt's only good gun, and is still only like 30% of why she's such a problem
i have played for a while and they can do shit if they call out your approach and whatnot i played leo and have had my fair share of grief when sent too far away can't punish the hitscan point and click if you're not close enough but you better keep moving or else it'll become unblocable
@@TheMarcira Even with this clip, all I really see is someone getting knowledge checked by Hotashi. He had multiple opportunities to tech forward and air block, along with just simply take a grounded/less committal air approach. I'll give that it can be more of a problem for Leo, given that his dash being a stepdash means it has more commitment than a regular run, but I think the clip makes it pretty clear than Zinac was a bit exasperated at the situation, and started trying to lab out answers mid match, like the teleport special and wakeup blitz, because he didn't have the knowledge beforehand. You don't need to punish the sniper to make Elphelt pulling it out a bad move, because if you get into the range where she puts it away, you've gotten free space on her, which is it's own reward. The risk/reward aspect of the sniper is also not good, because a single shot alone does like no damage lmao. I counted, and there was roughly 9 chances for Zinac to have theoretically gotten past the sniper and then ran his game on El. It's extremely viable to keep tanking the hits and forward teching until you just make it past by force tbh
like as an Elphelt player Happy Chaos is 110% Elphelt reimagined to fit into Strive. The Sniper Rifle, The Shotgun rolls, Looks like the clone is his version of the grenade as a "put something on the ground to make space"
It looks like he has a reticle that’s constantly on the opponent. The animation gets canceled when he attacks or gets hit. If he’s jumping or walking it will shoot, lowering the bullet and blue(reticle) gauge. The other non-reticle gun attacks just take up bullets and no blue gauge.
Fukin imagine a character that always wins on timeout. (Not this guy, it just occurred to me) Like, not matter what the life totals are, if the round hits 00 you win automatically.
The audacity of the world greatest magic user, EVER, deciding to be a gunslinger (and with literally no style ngl) tells me one of the next characters coming up is Asuka, who is exclusively magic
Hard to judge from just these short trailers, so I'll wait for the gameplay breakdown. Looks to me like he's stance-based, so might have a deceptively high number of followups.
Honestly don't like his design (too busy for me with the neck tattoo, cross glasses, horns and a halo...) but i like his attitude, his animation are really good and his gameplay looks fun.
