Had a nice find while walking in the woods. Disclosure*******Don’t ever eat any mushrooms without having an expert guide walk with you and show you what’s edible. There are some that look similar that will make you very sick or worse. This is not an instructional video and simply just for entertainment.

What a beautiful Chicken of the woods, I love this mushroom especially when it is young when it has some amazing colors. I have never eaten it, I like it much more for photography. Nice video my friend. 👍👍. Have a nice new week. Greetings. Manu

Thank you Manu. Yes…it’s a beauty when young. I took a friend over to see it for photos. When picked right, it’s delicious.

What a beautiful mushroom! I did not know what they were called! I think that I seen some of them on my last Cades Cove trip a week ago at the bridge on a log! They are so bright orange! Great video Paul!

Cool! Thank you. Yes, this is the time of the year to see them. There are others that might look alike if you don't know all the identifiers. Did you take some photos Gracie?

That's a great find, dear Paul! Congratulations on the ‘Chicken of the woods’! - Unfortunately, these fruiting bodies seem to me to be too old and therefore no longer suitable for eating.... You probably realised that too, if I understood you correctly - a little earlier would have been good. Perhaps it will grow in this spot again next year. - I've only found this mushroom on living trees, and unfortunately it's rare where I live. Congratulations again on this great find - at least it gave great photos!!! Best regards, Renate👍👍👋👋👋

Thank you. Yes Renate, they were probably a day past due. I thought you would enjoy this one. I found one other fallen tree loaded with oyster mushrooms. They were too far gone for a video but, a few days sooner, it would have been amazing. Hopefully, tomorrow the rain will start for a few days and we'll see some more fungi.

@@paulorientetheluffaranchHello, Paul! Thank you for your interesting answer and I am very surprised that you already have oyster mushrooms. Are you sure they were oyster mushrooms and not the sister ‘Pleurotus pulmonarius’? That would be the summer version of the oyster mushroom. Here in Germany, the oyster mushroom only grows when it gets cold, as it is known here as a true winter mushroom. It grows from around the end of October to January. But of course it may be different in your region. - I'm always very curious and hope to learn something new! . - Thanks again and best wishes, Renate - we also wait for some rainy days🙏🙏🙏👋👋

I heard someone say they’ve seen them 1 ft wide. We see one every year that's the size of a soccer ball.
