I’m 22, my dad used to have a CD that he burnt full of Happy Hardcore and we used to jam out to it in the car every day when he picked me up from school.
Sam Page my taste in hardcore definitely came from my dad too, he lost close to 500 CD’s in a house fire a few years ago so we’re both rediscovering them all here
This one always makes me cry. They played it at our friend's funeral. He was the same age as us give or take a couple of years but our parents didn'g let us go. They let off 99 red balloons.
Played this at my mums funeral too! Im sorry the loss of your friend what a sad day but one day we will all be togeter in the biggest rave in the sky !
This is one of the first songs I ever downloaded (entirely by chance) off of Limewire back in like 2005 or 2006. It was one of, if not, the first electronic song I had in my possession. I can't believe I found this version again after all these years.
Used to go raving to happy hardcore. The memories are wicked, bring back Helter-skelter at the Sanctuary, raves ain't anything like what they were when this was released. 8000 happy people raving the night away together.
The best HH song of all, right here. The breakbeat drop mid track clinches it. As much as the epic cheese of Children of the Night or Heart of Gold is fantastic without the breaks they're just doubletime Eurodance and that's... just not enough to take the title.
Piano sounds and happy hardcore really combined well. Such a great example of happy hardcore tune, from 1990s, of course taken from 1980s song. The piano sounds in these songs sounded so great when you were young. You either get that or you do not.
its coming back. Lots of Boiler Room Sets are borderline Hardhouse / Gabba at the moment as these DJs hilariously "discover" what we all used to rave to. The more stripped down Happy Hardcore will fit these sets well.
My dad wants me and my brother too release 99 red balloons after his funeral while playing the original song he loves it lol full blast in the range rover lol
You and I in a little toy shop Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got Set them free at the break of dawn 'Till one by one they all were gone Back at base, bugs in the software Flash the message, "Someone's out there" Floating in the summer sky, 99 red balloons go by, 99 red balloons floating in the summer sky Panic bells! it's red alert! There's something here from somewhere else The war machine it springs to life Opens up one eager eye Focusing it on the sky as 99 red balloons go by 99 Decision Street, 99 ministers meet To worry, worry, super scurry Call out the troops now in a hurry This is what we've waited for This is it boys this is war The president is on the line As 99 red balloons go by 99 Kriegsminister Streichholz und Benzinkanister Hielten sich… 59/5000 Secretary of war Matchstick and jerrycans Held each other ...

omg. Brings back memories of my very short time in the Navy and me and my roommate downloaded this exact song off napster! We partied hard in Japan and before that Chicago and Madison Wisconsin. Now I'm wondering if subconsciously I happened to only like the name Madison when I had my daughter. Lol
