Happy New Year folks!! I’ll just be sawing in today’s video! The footage should look and sound much better. If you enjoy today’s video, please like it and subscribe to the channel!
Nice yard. I do miss this. Just something about working a job like that as a 40 year old makes you think about walking into the woodchipper at the end of the day because you can run the whole fuckin yard, fix all the broken equipment and grade the lumber too... For the same wage you started stacking for. I did always like the work tho. Keep you in good shape, especially debarking spring time poplar and hickory.
Looking good as usual, I hope your holiday was most excellent and that everyone is healthy and happy. I am wondering where your family is originally from, if you don't mind me asking.
I appreciate that!! My parents were both brought up where the mill resides. My grandpa went to Nashville HS which is around 15 mins from the mill. And my dads mother is from Scotland
New to the channel. I am going to look at the past to see how you all cut the wood. I notice that the boards come off trimmed no other step needed. I am a wood worker from NH. Great video.
Heyyyyyyy bro ! Damn I thought you guys were still drunk from the new year party lol😅, anyways biutiful shades in this wood man , I was wondering about the smell bro , cos in my mind that red oak must have an owesome smell wile you sawing it?
May I suggest you check the carriage drive drum chain? It appears to have a little too much slack. The new camera really is nice and sharp or I wouldn’t have seen that.
So I understand it appears that way. But I assure you, one click tighter and it’s too tight. There was a metal shard build up around anywhere there was a pulley when I thought the same thing😅 I only ran it like that for a day. But there are built in rollers along the carriage deck meant to suspend the cable up off of the mechanism
@@Helmsburgsawmill Thats not surprising since often things look visually like they might be a little off and yet it’s perfectly fine. You’re seeing the wear pattern on the sprocket so you know, thanks for the explanation. Amazing how fast your carriage is on return, that chain does a lot of work driving the cable drum!
