My cover of this great 'feel good' song by Pharrell Williams which I'm playing on a Suzuki Manji Diatonic Harmonica in Bb. I'm following the general outline of the melody first then improvising at 2:26 to the end.
This is an amazing cover, one of my favorite pop songs of late, Really enjoyed it, wish I could play overbend and overblow then I could get it sounding as great as this.
Thanks man, it was a fun song to play.A few pesky bends (draw 2 double bend; draw 3 single bend & draw 3 double bend but no overblows required fortunately.
***** Brill now I just gotta learn is how to bend a note cleanly and I can play it :) also, Not heard it on harmonica before now. I do like playing pop on harp it's not just for blues, Amazing the fun and sound you can get from 10 holes.
***** Now I think I must record something a little bit slower for better understanding of this position. So I started to learn "Sad Hours" but after that I will record "Juke" (I hope:))
Konstantin Kolesnichenko 'Sad Hours' is a good choice. You have probably learnt the notes already but there is a slowed down version on youtube:- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lt46noFe_yE.html Never played anything in 6th!! Sounds difficult! Will you use Richter or an alternative tuning?
***** thank you for tip! I've learned it before some time ago in 2 position so I know the notes and can transpose them into 6. I will play it in my easy chromatic tuning. But I must say that 6 position is interesting one and very overlooked in Richter also. It can be played like 2 with full blues scale with only one overblow (5 hole) in middle register. The tonics are 3 and 7 draw (its like 3-6 blow octave) :)
***** BTW I forgot to ask you a question. How you learn vocal songs like "Happy"? By ear? If yes your ears and skills in melody recognition are amazing!
