Very beautiful Heather! I would like to share my thoughts as a Messianic Jew, please no judgment. I am sharing from the Biblical perspective please. The reason the Feasts of The Lord were put into place by The Lord was to speak to the Jewish people. When we read for example Jewish men had to be physically circumcised, later the Prophet Jeremiah reveals God is wanting the Circumcision of the heart. Circumcision set Jewish men apart from the Gentile men who were not circumcised. When the church began, Apostle Paul emphasized this point, to Gentile converts. There are many analogies throughout the Scriptures. What most Christians do not understand is, the Feasts of The Lord were designed by God in such a way, it was to point the Jewish people to their Messiah. The Messiah fulfilled the 4 spring Feasts, through His death, burial and resurrection- the slain lamb who's blood would save, the Messiah was the fulfillment of the unleavened bread, because He fulfilled Scripture- our Spiritual bread, HE rose from the dead being the first of the first fruits, then the church was birthed at Pentecost under the New Covenant, just as Moses birthed the Mosaic Covenant as he received the Law at Mt. Sinai. The Fall Feasts have yet to be fulfilled, but Messiah still Scripturally has a few things yet to be done. The Jewish people were given the Command to always observe the Feasts until all is fulfilled. Gentiles however are not required to observe. In saying that, it is commendable when Christians take note of the Feasts of the Lord. Why? Sadly over the years of the church, the Gentiles have taken away the Jewish identity of the Messiah! The church has "Christianized" Yeshua, though He was FULLY Jewish, born of a Jewish mother and adopted to a Jewish father. Yeshua obeyed Jewish Law, observed the Jewish Feasts, and what is more, God- Yahweh is the God of the Jews! So Christians follow the Jewish God and the Jewish Messiah! Because The Messiah is for all mankind! He died for all to save all. Do you know that Yeshua is the literal Hebrew word for Salvation? The Messiah died for our Yeshua- Salvation? The church is giving Yeshua back his Jewish identity, and in this time before His return, Messianics are pleased to see this. Again, the Feasts of the Lord point to the work of the Messiah, who He is and what Scriptures He fulfills. The Jewish people still have not fully embraced who Messiah is, therefore it is commanded to observe the Feasts throughout the generations. Christians however accept Yeshua as Messiah, and understand all He had fulfilled, and what He yet will continue to fulfill, so Christians are not required to observe the Feasts. In saying that, it is appreciated when Messianics see Believers honoring the Lord by understanding The Messiah was, is, and will always be Jewish. Honoring the Feasts is very nice for those who do observe. Thank you for your observance!

This was so beautifully shared I had to pin it. I am no longer good with words since my brain injuries. Even if I wanted to explain, I would fall short. I appreciate you taking the time to share the differences but also share how close we all really are. ❤️ Just being able to grow and learn and experience the significance of these Biblical Feasts have meant so much to me. I feel so much closer to the Father and to Messiah. It’s the sitting and reflecting and really sitting in His Word. Participating just grows the roots even further. Truly understanding. It’s putting the story of Exodus into perspective more for us. My kids have really enjoyed learning this year. I appreciate you so much and thank you for such a beautiful post explaining it in words I could never find. ❤️ So much love and May Yahweh’s face shine upon you!🥰🙏🏼

Thank you. Ad a Christian, I know Jesus was Jewish and our Messiah. I honestly don't understand Christians celebrating the Old Testament feasts, but I am not saying it is wrong to do so. The traditional Christian feasts have become too commercializd. I am guilty of that too.

I hope my comment will not be deleted. Jesus saved me and my family out of the Hebrew Roots movement. I now firmly understand this movement to be the great apostasy that was prophesied to happen in these end times. It breaks my heart to see so many believers thinking they can keep the laws of Moses by faith, when The Bible states that the law is not of faith. My heart is as the Jewish apostles, who did not keep the Mosaic law once they believed, nor commanded Jew or Gentile believers to keep it either, and who were greatly grieved to see believers trying to go back to the laws of Moses. In fact, the Jewish apostles defended the faith from the rising tide of Judaizers who contended that to honor God genuinely, Christians must conform to the Torah (the Old Covenant) with its laws, rituals, customs, diet, feasts and language. If you believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, then you too are a Christian. If you're will, there is a helpful book I came across years ago that I recommend. It's titled Messianic Judaism Is Not Christianity: A Loving Call to Unity, by Stan Telchin. He was a Messianic, until he realized Messianic Judaism was dividing the church. In his book, Stan discusses the growth of Messianic Judaism, its unscriptural doctrines, and its ineffectiveness in Jewish evangelism. There are, in fact, more Gentiles who convert to this movement than Jews. The Hebrew Roots movement, as a whole, is converting Christians to Judaism and causing them to altogether lose their salvation. It's a slippery slope. Jesus rescued me from Hebrew Roots; so my deep desire is to warn others before it's too late. For this reason, it is my hope that my comment won't be deleted. Lastly, please watch the video series done by Bible teacher Steve Gregg called The Jewish Roots Movement. He mentions Stan's book, and he explains in detail how this movement is a distraction from Biblical Christianity. He is a humble teacher that I hope you will find easy to listen to. He has been slandered as being a "replacement theologist" by those who don't understand his position and reject the truth The Bible teaches about Christ having one, undivided body/church/Bride made up of Jew and Gentile believers in the cross of Christ. I implore you to give his videos a chance and not allow yourself to be offended. It's worth understanding. Thank you for your time. I hope I haven't offended you. It's not my heart's intention to offend, but to warn and educate before it's too late. Jesus Christ has laid it on my heart.
@carolyndymond4065

@kittyrichards9915 Most people are guilty of that now, and a lot of people get into so much debt to celebrate Christmas. It's really ridiculous. I'm all for having a good time. But I had a friend who always wanted to seem better than everyone else, and if there were two gifts the same but different prices, she would always get the most expensive and tell everyone the price. I always got something to wear something to eat and something to play with, and that's it. Birthdays to me to celebrate the day you were born are when you should give more gifts because it's a special day for that person and I think we should celebrate more with giving time to others and trying to involve others.

I have never seen such hate for Jews I live in Britain, and 60 years ago we had a lovely Jewish family close by, and I cannot to this day understand why people dislike them so much. Is there any way I could find out I've tried many times. From my view of the one's I have known I can say in all honesty they are family orientated and work extremely hard are honest, reliable and trustworthy.

Dear Heather, I love the cosy warm glow in your Sukka! Always fascinated with Sukkot, even as a child, I was always in charge of hammering the family or neighborhood kids' Sukka together, like a Wendy Hut, made of wood and old sheets, decorated with construction paper lanterns and tissue paper chains, the roof decked with palm fronds, each guest contributing and sharing food... My favorite holiday and one of my most beautiful childhood memories. Chag Sameach and may it be a peaceful, mild weathered, happy holiday!

@TheKneadyHomesteader
@TheKneadyHomesteader 3 дня назад
There are several books as well as children’s books over on amazon that I purchased to help me learn a little deeper. 🥰 And I am still learning!!!! We no longer observe Halloween and as my children are learning along side me, neither of them wanted to participate anymore. So, we just no longer go to church during Trick or Trunk events or go to any parties. Thanksgiving isn’t a Biblical holiday but rather a national one and we do participate however, we also reflect on Native Americans and it’s a great time to open discussions about loving your neighbor as yourself. Christmas we still celebrate, we just think any opportunity we can sit with the Father and learn more and celebrate Him and give Him the glory, we take it. Matt and I never did Santa with the kids. So it hasn’t been an issue. We love the candlelight ceremony on Christmas Eve at church! Even though we don’t know exactly when He was born, it’s still so special to celebrate it. 🥰
