Cool thanks!... pumpkin brewing season is coming up quick... I would get this started in late August or Early September if you can manage to get good pumpkins by then (Northwest is a good option to look)... that way the beer is ready for the various festivities coming up :) Cheers!
I really like the way you have put together this video! I'm still quite new to Homebrewing so I will b actually building my mash tun (watched your video on that too) hopefully soon and I plan to get this recipe started in early October :) I will keep you posted on how it turns out, it looks and sounds delicious!
First, love the videos! Very thorough and clear on what you do and how to do it. I have a quick question: I am brewing my pumpkin beer tomorrow that is very similar to yours. When do you think it would be ready? I know a lot of that is a taste-as-you go scenario, but just looking for a general idea. I will bottling in swing top bottles as always. Thanks!!
I actually want to use this recipe and turn it more into a Porter-like beer... so yes... though I don't want much of the roasted flavor... I'm not sure I would consider smoked though since I see those flavors might mask out the pumpkin... and that's the thing with this beer, pumpkin adds very little flavor to the beer, it's mostly the spices that make it shine... Cheer!
I know I like the idea of having pumpkin beer during Halloween and Thanksgiving, but the beer is usually not at its best by then... depending on the beer you'll probably be able to drink some by Halloween or Thanksgiving, but the beer will really start to shine around month 5 - 8...
