its more than just ptsd. it's some form of DID, as you can see a trigger (loud noises, blood etc) causes an alter switch / personality change. brain picked it up as a coping mechanism
On April fools, they should make an episode with no blood, no death, etc but keep making it seem like it’s gonna happen but it never does to sike the audience xD
After returning back to memories of long ago, I can now say I feel bad for Flippy. He’s one of my favourites and he’s trying to stop his PTSD so badly. Just makes me feel bad for him.
@@iamabird4413 i'm sorry for that. But,I laughed when i watching it all then and was scared when I watched it now, I don't want my little sister or my nephews to watch it like me before.
I love the subtle comedy of Flippy’s house being an armory full of various weaponry and armaments yet in the showdown with his alter-ego they just use everyday objects to fight.
Rewatching this today as an 23 years old, I realized that Flippy and his other side is a literally superhuman and is probably the strongest out of everyone
Flippy getting absolutely decimated by the truck right after he has an acid trip, fights to the death with himself, unleashes his ultimate clone army, and finally gets some proper character development is absolute peak
When you're a kid, you don't understand what they depict, but as you get older, you start to realize everything that is shown in stuff like this. Crazy..
I know right? When I see kid-friendly cartoons, I'm always like "that's not how it works." Happy Tree Friends, whatsoever, is either "that's not how it works either" or "that is how it works."
5:47 I like how even though Fliqpy is about to kill Lumpy he still is polite enough to ring the doorbell and not going inside without an answer, that's nice of him
I bet some parents just see the cute things and think "Should be fine for little timmy" watching it a few moments and they be like "Holy shit timmy no!"
*THE FACT THAT I LIKED HTF SO MUCH AS A KID AND DIDN'T EVEN CARE THAT MUCH ABOUT THE BLOOD.. BUT NOW THAT I'M OLDER.. I'M SHOCKED THAT I ACTUALLY WATCHED THIS STUFF WITH MY COUSINS...*
Me when i was 6: AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Me now: AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm never growing up.
Lil thing I noticed: Now that I'm older and that I rewatched the show, it made me realize that Flippy is really just a traumatized war veteran with clear PTSD. A crucial example, at 8:00, you can see him literally jump down to the floor and clutch his hat, because the the plane sounds scares him and brings back the trauma, which makes him go killer mode. The only reason why he kills his friends is because he thinks that they're enemies and that the war is still going on, so he wants to defend himself... It's sad, but well thought.
