Hi Roxanne! I enjoyed this day in the life video! The pool in your community looks beautiful! I know you’ve been through a lot with your husbands illness and passing, but retirement seems to be bringing you a peacefulness. I’m so glad you are enjoying your retirement life, church, and getting to see your kids and grands. I sure hope they can fix your back! Sounds like a good plan to just live on your SS income for this year and get used to it before taking on a part time job if needed. It’s good you have long term retirement money to fall back on if ever needed. Take care, stay cool in this heat, and I look forward to upcoming videos!

I hope you can get an MRI and your Dr. figure out what is needed to relieve yoir pain. I never learned to swim and I have always regretted it. Making taco salad at home is one of my favorite meals and its pretty cheap. I'm glad you got to visit your grandbabies.

I hope so too. The pain just keeps getting worse and I hate not knowing what's going on. I hope you have a great weekend Carol

Hi! Swimming sounds so fun and a good way to exercise. It’s been too hot even in Ohio to walk much. I try offbrand barbecue chips because I don’t like them as spiced up! I haven’t found ones I like in awhile.

@lbacaterpillar ya the heat everywhere this summer is brutal. Those chips from Aldi were pretty good. If you have an Aldi near you, you should try them.

Glad you had a good visit in CO.! I'm with you on not being a fan of beer. Pretty much the only time I drank beer at all was when I was in college. Back then '68 through '72, Kansas where I grew up and attended college had kind of bizarre drinking laws. No restaurants could sell liquor by the drink to any age. Only private clubs, allowed their members to bring in their own bottles of wine, or whatever, and they'd serve it to the people. Alcohol could only be bought at liquor stores, or bars. Not even beer was sold in grocery stores. And you had to be 21, except, they sold in bars, 3.2 beer to folks 18 and up. So of the majority of college students could only drink that legally. And in shopping, bar, and restaurant area near the college, the most common way that was sold, was by the pitcher. Well, my folks were teetotalers, so I'd never had alcohol at all until I got to college, and for some reason, the only beer I could tolerate the taste of was Coor's your old state's pride and joy. I think back then Coors may have only been sold in CO and KS, because they didn't have good ways to ship it further. I still didn't drink a lot. On Friday's a group of 4 or 5 would go get dinner in a pizza joint, and spend the evening there and share a pitcher. Out of my friends, only one girl who was a bit older, and came from NY, had ever drunk much before college, so a pitcher would last us the whole evening some times. And if I drank even 2 full glasses that felt like a lot! On your back, have they ever sent you to physical therapy? My issues are more arthritis caused, so no surgery would really help. But when I finally decided to get serious about doing the exercises they had given me, full time after the PT sessions were done, that has helped quite a bit for the last 4 years or so. I still have to be really careful and not overdo on other activities, or I still do get muscle spasm attacks. But it's a lot better than it used to be-way less frequent and go away more quickly. Anyway I do hope your doctor can help you! I know how stressing chronic pain can be! Oh and your supper looked really good!

Hi Charlotte. That is so interesting about the alcohol sales when you were younger. Sometimes I think it would be nice to go back to those more innocent times. As for my back, I did go to physical therapy for about 4 weeks after I had my surgery last year. To be honest I'm not sure it helped, but I do remember most if the exercises. I even bought an exercise ball to use at home, but I've been lazy about doing any of the exercises.
