In this series we seek to cover the life of Harald Hardrada. Part 1 followed the Rise of the Viking Legend from his exile through his vast campaigns in the east which culminated in his service in the Varangian Guard for the Byzantine Army. Now in Part 2 we explore the return home of Harald Hardrada and how he would ultimately earn the title of Harsh Ruler.
The episode begins with his return to the lands of Kievan Rus where he reunites with Jaroslav and marries his daughter, the princess Elisaveta. We then cover his journey to Scandinavia and the campaigns by which his Viking Army carved out a corner of the world for him. Yet while Harald Hardrada is finally able to take the crown, holding it is another manner and the Harsh Ruler must undertake Game of Thrones level ploys that would make Loki proud.
In our next episode we will cover the war against Denmark and the Battle of Nisa and then finally cap off the series with the famous invasion of England and the Battle of Stamford Bridge. This is the legacy of Harald Hardrada!
