I love the asymmetry of this small home, and they wonkiness of it! This could be my new favorite! My McCleery ancestors were Jacobites, who fought at Culloden. The Duke of Cumberland (brother of George III) requested that we remove ourselves from the highlands. Two branches came across the Atlantic, during the French and Indian War. My immediately family settled in Quebec. Another branch settled in Maryland. I know of two McCleery Houses in Maryland. One in Georgetown (now DC), and one in Frederick. The Georgetown house is reputedly designed by James Hoban, who designed the White House.

That was excellent, such an unusual house!! Haven’t spent any time in Maryland, so it’s always great to learn about their history, also!

nice to see some inside shots for once. I'm in PA but I have family in MD & it feels like home too. Nice to see so much land intact & undisturbed. Blue was nice. The color of that period was purple & green. It works for flowers but not for house colors.
