I am Harbiner, and I am living in US now, Harbin definite is a big city, not only in China, even in the whole world, it is bigger than New York, so it is not a small city. The walking street is the longest one in Asia, so the saying it is not long in Harbin is not true. Honestly, the best season to travel to Harbin is Summer and Winter, there is not too much to see in Spring and Fall, and the sky is not clear during this time too. If you guys just want to feel the culture, then it doesn’t matter. I appreciate you guys tour my city and introduce it in RU-vid. Merry Christmas! 😊
As a Russian, I wonder, what do Harbin people think of our country? I don't know much about your city aside from the history, but I can say with certainty that your beer is very good!
@@yumallah It is complicate emotion! Russia built the city but also taken away some land from Heilongjiang province. I don’t think Harbin people have too much love of Russia, but we don’t hate Russia as hate Japan.
@@yumallah Actually not bad, although there were some conflicts after World War II (Soviet Union's interference to China-USSC border territory and there were military conflict), the two countries restarted collaboration, I have also heard news that the Russian president Putin also has a plan to build a "China town" in Moscow! By the way I am a Chinese student studying abroad in the US and from Shanghai.🤗
Yeah we’ve really enjoyed learning about China’s coffee journey over the past few weeks I think we might need to make another video to explain it all as it’s really interesting.
@@peekaboopeekaboo1165 luckin coffee is listed on the nasdaq stock market . It will remain low because of racial prejudice against China, Chinese people and Chinese companies
after googling the st. sophia church., it was renovated after 1996. all old buildings need renovation to be maintained properly. if not, it would become dilapidated. even the white house has been renovated many times to keep up with time. st. sophia church is the same. love from canada.
The sheer size of China. So demographically diverse and rich in culture. Now we know that Chinese government is so serious about preserving the culture and language of their ethnic minorities. One out of this world. That reminds me that it is not happening in the west.
As a Chinese,I had never explored Harbin completely. But now I'm studying in Harbin.Hope I could find the true joy in this city!(I also like Russian culture and Russian girls are the best!)❤
in the 1920s Harbin and the surrounding region was one of the candidate sites for the Jewish homeland, mostly due to large number of Russian Jewish refugees already there. Can you imagine had it actually be selected ?
Then the Jewish might claim it as their own and evict the Chinese living there. Like Palestine now. Only difference is, the owner is China and will not allow that to happen. Lol....
a video clip with both english and chinese captions made by bits who probably don't chinese. thank you on behalf of the chinese viewers who don't speak english for your meticulous efforts .
I am watching your video now and I check Harbin weather which is -26 now! Good choice to visit before winter. Still it will be good for you to return to Harbin say January just for the ice festival.
My mom is from Harbin and I've been going there over summer holiday since I was little and love it there. Only recently tried it in winter and it's a bit too familiarly cold coming from Canada. There are some really great foods like the dongbei shao kao and guo bao rou but the liangpi is totally a vibe and the fried veggie thing gives me hard nostgia as my mom would always make those for me and my friends. Hope you visit for a bit longer next time 😍😍
Yeah it would certainly be an experience in winter, I'm not sure I could hack it as Beijing was cold enough for me haha We really enjoyed the city though would love to go back.
I was there for 4 years for university education. I have felt the winter and early spring there is much blander than the summer and autumn but still tasty. Harbin of its land is a place of treasury for human to be.
@@Nicofilms Nico, you went to Harbin a little too early, this city is becoming a mega hit in China since late December, it's the hottest city in China right now and it's been on the top trendy topic every day on Chinese social media for the past month, the entire nation is crazy about Harbin. Its success has such a huge impact and Harbin is single handily transforming the China tourism industry with its unique formulas. You would've witness all this craziness if you are there now :)
@@stevel5806 Yeah I know I saw that. I guess TikTok wasn't around last time China had tourism so now people are going crazy for it. It's amazing to see. Maybe one day we'll get there!
Kalau kalian msih di cina mungkin kalian bisa collab sama RU-vidrs dri Indonesia yg bekerja dan tinggal disana seperti Yenny di China, rudy chen ,tika di wuhan dan maaih banyak lagi 😅
Harbin is definite a big city in China, Harbin is three times bigger than Beijing, 8 times bigger than Shanghai, 26 times bigger than Shenzhen and 13 times bigger than New York City!
@ 15: 20 I must say he pulled off the most impressive Asian Squat I've ever seen. He even got his toes pointing outward to his left and right, I think he outdid the Asian.
I went there last Summer and I felt at home since I can speak both Russian and Chinese 🥰. Even if the Russian street is really made for tourists, the traditional red sausage is really tasty! Surprise: more Chinese people actually speak better Russian in Dalian than in Harbin 🤔 Well, maybe because Russians prefer basking in the sun on the warm beaches of Dalian in Summer... 😅I love Harbin for its interesting past and I have spent hours in its museums. 🥰 Yet, I will definitely return in Winter.
Nico and Jack, welcome back to China. But I am a bit confused: the last video I remember seeing was that you guys had to leave China. But then why and how were you guys back? I scrolled through your videos and didn’t see your story. Can you do an episode letting us know your story in between?
We left China in December 2022 but still had content to share from when we were there. We then returned in Sep 2023 to travel for 6 weeks which is the content that has been on our channel since then. This was our first video back: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oVk6Ns1Z_-M.htmlsi=7EsjnQIgQMu3pYU7
Hello, I know the Ice Festival starts at January ,,, but is there anyone who knows if winter activities like skating are already available at early December?
Yeah that is considered the height of summer in China I would say. This was filmed early October so it was getting a bit chilly in the evening but was still nice.
Bought some chocolate bars from budget supermarket ALDI. Wow, the milk chocolate bar was a million times better than Cadbury's. Much cheaper, too. It sure beats a Hershey bar by a country mile.
@@Nicofilms You have a shot of roasted sweet potatoes in your video, and I saw it and replied. This is a characteristic of northern China. If you are still in China, it is recommended to have a meal.
Why the Russians came to Harbin , Because of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-05) or Because of the Operation August Storm in 1945 , Maybe , actually ,I don't know the detailing about this history
Both of them are true In 1904, Russian and Japanese wanted to control Heilongjiang and other parts of Manchulia, the Russian failed, but they still have influence there. When in 1931, Japan lauched a lot of military operations, and turn it into their colony. But in 1945, Soviets attacked this colony with a lightening strike. After the WW2, and the Chinese civil war, The Chinese government reached a treaty with the Soviets, and Soviets returned Harbin to China.
