Surviving outdoors when that's not what you're used to doing takes practice. I grew up doing the whole camping thing but, if that's not how you grew up, it's a lot harder. Hell, even if you did grow up camping and backpacking, it's a rude awakening from what we're used to doing indoors or even what we're used to doing outdoors when it's our parents who do all the planning. You guys really didn't do too bad. Hell, I had a hard time starting a fire the first time I went and, for fuck's sake, I started one as a toddler when I went camping with my family (in the fire pit because there were still hot coals in there). I would recommend you try it again but maybe with a bunch of mosquito netting. I never understood how annoying mosquitos could be because our native ones never bite me. I went to Peru and the jungle mosquitos didn't bite me (which is good since they sometimes carry malaria), but the ones in the mountains of Peru sure as hell did and that's when I started to get it. So I think you all would have done really well if you had had some mosquito netting because your shelters were pretty good and you did a pretty good job starting a fire and catching food.

Turning those damn lights off would have probably helped, lol. If you're truly surviving, you can't waste the batteries anyway. Do your work by the light of the day, sleep at night, that's how it was done until the last 100 years. Props for getting out there and doing it, though.

Hey Guys, I just subscribed earlier. You are hilarious!!! Isn't Florida mostly swamp and filled with critters? Anyway, just an fyi, if you want to cut down on the mosquitoes shower off before you go to sleep and spray OFF! all around your stuff and clothes but not on you. That stuff has really bad chemicals. A better spray is made by California Baby and is either organic or all natural but is probably three or four times as expensive. But it really works. Thanks again for the great videos. Stay Safe. Where I'm at it ain't so bad. The big guys that walk by or run by when trying to sleep are just deer or raccoon passing through looking for food or something like that and don't bother with things like tent or lean-to, so you're safe there. In the Summer the real problem is mosquitoes and black flies. The other insect around here are nothing. No poisonous creatures here. We only get a few snakes here and in my area it's the just Garter snake. Smaller species, non-poisonous, likes to stay away from people. With bigger creatures, I guess the worst around is coyotes. They don't like to be around people too much either. But don't leave your pet cat outdoors at night. Them coyote or fox will likely get them.

Lucky I have a little brother who attracts the skeeters like Ricky. He is 6'2" of blonde hair and he is so white he glows in the dark and attracts them away from the rest of us. I end up feeling sorry for him and buy him a pack of cigs to light up and keep them away. Enjoying part 2 but its 1:43 a.m. and I'm hitting the sack. Got my 3 hours of sleep and it's still raining. ...but watched the rest of the video. Very epic ending LMFAO. I would say after doing the homeless challenge for 3 months+ that I will take nature over people anytime. Kind of hard to relax at night when you never know what people would do. I still fish all night long but can't fall asleep in the city. If I go out to the river I can relax and pull my lines in and sleep most of the night.

I would like to see you guys really challenge yourselves by taking a wildness survival course I like pathfinder or waypoint survival in Ohio. Or coalcracker bushcraft in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Then you all wouldn't be whining all night.

Swamp camping looks like shit. Surviving the humidity and mosquitos is the real challenge.

Ok so you have gained confidence in front of the camera, still a lot of "slow spots". Try a bit more energy when explaining things, when you do chopped edit scenes, they are popular with RU-vid and when done right it's cool but when done wrong its weird, what you guys have to remember is that you are creating content so yeah you are three buddies camping but in between be RU-vidrs you guys got the right idea but it's more of a take turns type of thing (it helps to pre discuss a timing order) and be prepared with what you're going to talk about I know it's tempting to go off the cuff and carry on conversation and you can do that sometimes, but just keep in mind you're trying to hold the viewer's attention so it needs to be a transition from pre thought information merging into organic conversation.... if you're going to do chop scenes if you're cutting out on one person, you can't necessarily cut back in mid movements and or words of another or it just looks poorly edited. You still need more b-roll, so you got to think about those shots almost artistic in a way, like a stationary camera watching all three of you walk off into the distance down a trail, or the camera watching you guys set up the fire together and don't be afraid to put in time lapse or two in the slow spots (during those music choice is key). And that brings me to; be careful in your music choice ,volume ,and ,quantity. You don't want your RU-vid video to seem like a "fair use music video" if you understand what I mean?... Sometimes people put so much of those loops that it becomes almost painful to listen to, as it's 30 minutes of just Loop. Last but not least ; shorten your videos, I know it's hard to make those choices between what scenes to keep and what to get rid of but if you make each scene really count, trimming the fat a little may bring your view count up. the key to get people to watch your videos all the way through is keeping them 100% entertained and then keeping in mind you can only entertain somebody for about 15 minutes tops and that's if it's really entertaining... once you get an audience 30 minute videos will be no problem to get people to watch, but you always have to keep in mind there are 20 videos beneath yours and a next button on the screen so if attention is lost for more than just a couple seconds most people just hit the next button.
