It's the Harbor Freight $50 Survival Challenge. In this episode we collaborate with Florida Fisherman 2016. We hit up Harbor Freight with a spending limit of $50 for a Survival weekend. What can we buy with $50? Can we survive with that limit?

Take it from a Ranger School graduate: You can survive almost anywhere with almost nothing for a long time. If you can get food and water, you can survive in the wild indefinitely. You will figure everything else out sooner or later. In fact, you got your whole life to figure it out.

Shelter has come to the forefront in a couple of trips I have made. Nothing quite like thinking "oh it's only gonna get down to 60 at night", then it rains, and you end up damn near hypothermic

I work at Harbor Freight, any youtube coming in is free advertising, Harbor freight encourages employees to help them out. Also it's REALLY fun.

The survival knife is garbage, the blade broke off from the handle the first time we used it. If you get a fixed blade knife make sure it is a full tang knife. Those hollow handle knives have no strength. Can't go wrong with the good old KA-BAR knife.

My harbor freight machete lasted about a 1/2 hour before the handle broke. Fixed it at work and then the blade broke in half trying to chop some brush on my deer trail. Now it's rusting somewhere as far as I could throw it.

I used that same flashlight on my last trip, hangs from my ridge line on my shelter, and it was free 😁. Can't believe all of you walked past the duct tape! Oh and those 55 gal. trash bags make awesome beds when packed with leaves 👍 That's a fun challenge!

$50 a person and there is three of us. That does make 150. Lol. But it’s everyone for themselves during the actual challenge so each person can only use the $50 worth they bought. No sharing was allowed.
