I did that. Be sure to always respool the drum with a load on the cable. Watch duty cycle It pulled my C2500 onto a the trailer, dragging it over the trailer edge. 2 deep cycle 6 volt cart batteried in a box on the tounge. 😊
That actually occurred to me a few hours after I finished mounting the winch. I might still do that. For now I’ll try it without the fairlead and see how it does.
