My sister's motorhome had a flat tire. She called AAA. The AAA attendant who came out, had this Harbor Freight 150psi air compressor that he carried with him, that he used to fill her tire. So she purchased one of these, and the hose is long enough to reach from her battery to the motorhome's rear tires.

The only thing I dislike about these tank-less style pumps is they have to keep air flowing, and not allow any build up (That's why the NPT fittings are backwards). This one sounds like it might be a cheaper option then an expensive Vair unit, to use with an onboard tank tho. That has me interested in this unit for the price.

it has an internal thermal fuse that will blow, all you have to do is bypass that fuse, and it's good to go. if you own one of this units, you will run into this issues.

I have been looking for info. and review on this particular Harbor Freight 12Volt 150PSI Air Compressor. Your review is the best of all of them. My only question after watching all other reviews including your is After connecting the alligator clips to the car battery. Do you start the car and have the car running or you don't have to have the car running? Because no one has mentioned anything about it. I just keep thinking that if the compressor is working that hard wouldn't it draw the battery power if the car is not running.

Best practice is run the car. But it’s not totally necessary. I’d hate to suggest one way or another because you could fill your tire and now the car won’t start lol

Given the size and cost I found this to be a very strong performer. I also found the look and feel of it reflected decent quality as well. Someone else liked it so much that they stole it.

With or without a weak car battery, should you have the engine running while the car battery is running the air compressor or it doesn't matter? Thanks.

Super late response, if you have a smaller battery have the car running, if you have a SUV, Truck etc that uses a bigger battery you can run it without your vehicle being on. But if you have a dead cell in your battery that you're unware of and the voltage drops to low you may not be able to start your car again without jumping it since the dead cell will avoid it from holding a charge. So up to you. (You've probably already figured this out anyways lol)

if you used this on a van tire thats totally flat and takes 65 psi with the engine off does it kill the battery?

*This is INSANELY nice.💫 **allabout.wiki/Viair** i got a Bostitch 6 gallon pancake and the regulator broke, and it was stupid loud. Also, the gauges barely worked. it wouldnt even power a die grinder. But this little dude ROCKS. Its not only 1/4 as loud as the Bositch, it works like a fine tuned machine should. Kudos to California Air Tools! This performs EXACTLY as advertised. Cant beat the price either.*

I did my tire on my truck 🚛 and it took about 3 minutes and I love that little bugger 🥰. Oh and I put a plug into the tire picked up a nail somewhere. I also keep plugs in my truck 👍.
