These videos on your retrofitting these HF wiresless controllers are great! Tired of all these Chinese winches being the only option out of the box with wireless controllers so this is a huge help to steer me away from those.
You are great I was contemplating doing something like this. I have a warn winch with no controller I want to set up I rescued from a parts rig that was heading for the junk yard.
So I am currently in the process of wiring that badlands remote into a worn VR Evo 12. The difference being I cannot wire mine to the plug the way you did because it uses a microcontroller. So when I wire the receiver directly to the solenoid I keep poped my fuse. I was wondering if I am missing something, or if anyone could give me insight
I'd get rid of those small pins, altogether and use a 3 wire trailer connection just like warn 8274 winches used. They did this then for user friendliness... Originally
Some crackhead stole my remote from my glove box. This was incredibly helpful for using a $35 dollar generic remote and not buying the $150 Warn remote. Thanks for posting!
Rugged Radio sells one that is guaranteed to work but expensive. Amazon has them as well but often have incorrect hardware so you may have to find a bolt.
