Harbor Freight Low Profile Motorcycle Dolly - Using it with a center stand

This video will show the improper use (sort of) of the Harbor Freight Motorcycle Dolly. It is meant to be used with a side stand and I am using it with a center stand on this 1983 Yamaha RZ350. At first it sort of worked using it with the motorcycle center stand. Then the next day I added a little improvement which made it much better. For the $40 I spent on it I’m really happy with it now. Harbor Freight claims 1250 pound capacity on this Low Profile Motorcycle Dolly. I have a Gold Wing so maybe I’ll give it a go one of these days.
Stay tuned for more videos of garage improvements and more upcoming motorcycle projects.

Thanks for watching.

Wow - another beautiful RZ. That looks like a Canadian bike. Would be great to see you do review of the stock RZ in comparison to one of your modified bikes. Your new stand seems ideal for getting the bike tucked away. Do you think you could take 5" to 6" out of the side stand section without affecting the stability?

Thanks CKD. Yes it is a beautiful 1983 Canadian import and it's near museum quality. One day it will go back to stock non-cat Canadian pipes and jetting. Ironically I met the original owner (he imported it new in to USA in 1983) out of the blue at a show a few years back. The motorcycle dolly definitely could be improved on but works quite well as is and I've a few (hundred) projects to do before modifying the thing anymore.

try locking casters if you must have them both down. If you're on level pavement you shouldn't have an issue plus why would you have them both down at the same time anyway? Not going anywhere.

That’s how it’s designed. You’re not supposed to be able to have both ends locked down. That way the bike always has a path to exit the dolly. It’s not a flaw.

That's exactly right. Don't overthink shit....lol.

That looks like it's got all kinds of design flaws. You should be able to lock one end in place before you raise the other end. BTW. Nice license plate.

Yeah well, you probably have a "Harbor Freight" equivalent in your part of the world. It supplies us with all tools China, some work and some don't and everything in between. It does what I need it to do relatively safely for $40 so I'm good with it. Better than the 3 caster thing I was using. One day I'll put the Gold Wing on it and see if it collapses!
