Great Job and Great Video. I used a sewing pin to open the jet and wire to clean the main jet! Done in 20 minutes and works like a champ. Thankyou for taking the time to post this video.
Great video. So much easier than taking the carburetor off. I could not get the jet out but was able to clean it with a small needle. Put it back together and started on the first pull. Female ingenuity!!😊
Ive been running mine almost daily for 2 years. Ive had to start running it with the side cover off or it overheats and shuts down, ive had the sparkalator foul twice from running slow bc the draw was low for an extended period and the etc lowered the rpms and ive started to have trouble with the co2 sensor. Need to delete it, i never run it indoors. Overall its a tough unit. Outside 24/7 for 2 years strapped on my trailer and run daily for electric/heat/ac in my truck in my off time.
I have one of these that had been stripped out of the case and left sit out in the weather. The only thing wrong with it was to push rod on the intake head come out it was pushed out of the way and did not bend. It was easy to put back in and adjust. I am now having to clean the carburetors but mine will take a complete teardown of the carburettor. There's only a 1007 in clearance for valve lash adjustment on the intake and only three thousands on the exhaust. It's not hard to do but if your generators are very old you really need to adjust that. It is not a complicated thing to do. Just do it when the valves are at room temperature. The clearances are marked in owners manual. Hope this helps
thank you for the video and how to drain fuel. and look at the carburetor mine is leaking fuel when tilted a little. My generator predator 2000 when starting the overload light comes on with no load it was not doing this before I changed the oil and spark plug. I took it somewhere and he won't work on it but didn't really tell me what was wrong with it after charging me fee. He said generator side take it here so so place
I keep my Honda EU7000ISNAN 7000-Watt 120/240-Volt Inverter Generator full of fuel with a fuel extender. My Yamaha 2800 I run it out of regular fuel and always keep a special fuel that’s expensive but if I don’t use it for over a year. It will start right up. I keep 1/2 gallon of the special fuel it. The trick is keeping it at a certain level vs sucking on a tube stiffening it. I buy the fuel at Home Depot
Avoid this problem by 1. Putting seafoam in running all the fuel though. That will clean out any deposits and empty the carb out. It won't gum up without fuel. 2. A less desirable option in my opinion. Add fuel stabilizer and run it once a month.
The bottom Jet is up on the bottom yes, The bolt I was speaking of was the bottom pan bolt of the carb. The bottom jet is inside that bottom float pan.
That side piece is what holds the side panel on. It is removable. I have a "junk" unit I picked up and it is just the base plate and front panel. FYI It runs now. The intake push rod fell out. No bends. (Thank you Lord) The valve lash is small so if it get out of adjustment it will fall out. There is a lot of room for it to stay out of the way so it did not bend. But now I have to clean the carb.
I have the same problem. They don't make loves for us guys with big hands. Even the XL gloves don't fit.😢. All those guys with little hands are so lucky. 😢
I work with a lot of dangerous chemicals being in the mining industry so I got in the habit using PPE's. I only wise id done it when I was younger, my body really took a beating from thinking im invisible lol So I figure its best saving the rest of it lol
Im an Engineer, I rarely watch videos even if im totally stuck. I was taught from young to work a problem using patience and critical thinking. Im not opposed to people who do rely on videos but If you rely on your skills like muscles they get a good workout because what would happen if this issued occurred when I'm 200 miles from town where theres no internet and I always relied on videos to learn? Id be up the creek. The more you rely on learning and honing skills when the real oh crap moment happens you'll be use to working the problem and get the problem solved vs having to drive to town to get internet to figure it out or take it to a engine shop. In so many ways doing this has saved my bacon.
I just returned 2 predator i2000 generators. I followed the setup instruction and used the troubleshooting guide attempting to get them to start. A really disappointing experience.
Since they reduced the jet size by half they have been getting gunked up super quick. Im probably gonna take the smaller jet and stick it on the lathe to bore out the inner diameter to the old specs before all this environmental nonsense. The predators always worked great until they reduced the jet size!
Nope not a mechanic, I very much dislike working on engines actually lol . My mom taught us from little on up that you can do anything you put your mind to and success is a state of mind which is really true. If you go into anything you set out to do with the mind set that you know you'll be successful, you'll have success. I honestly cant remember one thing ive ever failed at that I didnt first doubt myself in first. Our minds are powerful tools which can be used to either have total success or hold ourselves back. Every time I start doubting myself about something I always go back to the verse in Philippians 4:13 " I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me" and instantly that doubt goes away because I know with the right mind set I can be successful at whatever im doubting myself in.
