i bought all the icon roto head ratchets thinking they were going to be as smooth as the other 2 ratchets i have and was disappointed in them not nearly as nice in my opinion but i kept them for when they are needed. ive heard people say tools need to be broke in maybe they will get smoother with use...
standard icon 1/4 have way too much back drag, the flex 1/4 has a thinner anvil and is much nicer. the 3/8ths icons are great after i lubed them up with super lube, same with 1/2 in. wish they had followed with snap-on on the 1/4 and gone with lower tooth count ( 80 on the 1/2 and 3/8 and 72 on 1/4 )
I agree with you, I think a 10ft cord or lesser is absolutely a great find. I use more cords under 25 ft more than any other. They are great. 👍 and let us know what you think of your ICON FlexHead 1/4”. I have one also, but I’ve yet to actually use it. Great Tool Haul. Thank you for another great video.
Agreed. The low back drag is extremely useful. I just replaced a starter on my 06 Jeep Liberty CRD which has one hidden bolt. Installing it was so much easier using the Koken ratchet and a Koken Nut Grip socket. I’ll buy other brand ratchets IF I find a gap in my lineup that Koken can’t fill.
I prefer the Pittsburgh rotoheads they are way smoother. I was very surprised how much difference there was between them and icon. But the other icon, capri, and diehard are hard to beat for the price.
Feel wise my 1/4 Flex ICON & 3/8 Flex ICON feel exactly the same with the gearing. I do not own the 1/2” but the 1/4” & 3/8 to myself are exactly the same.
