I have a different brand, but this type of thing really works. My hubby could not start his dump trunk with his P/U, I started it on the 1st try with my portable , up to 20 uses before recharging, jump stater kit. Everyone needs one of these babies!
Thanks for commenting, yeah it's saved me several times and a few friends of mine as well. I even started a Ford diesel truck one time, I had my doubts but it started it.
After all these dang years I thought it just didn’t work. Car was dead after I left my mobile printer on. I didn’t have time to wait for aaa. So I found your video to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong, welp I was. I will carry this every where I go!
You are using agm by Johnson controls, same battery I use, they do draw down over time. You don’t want to charge these type cells over a couple volts trickle charge to keep them going good. Viking makes a great maintainer/ charger for these
Everyone jamming you for not placing the negative to the engine. I think you unhooked them backwards. When you jump, it's always +,+ then -,-. When the vehicle starts, you unhooked in reverse order -,-then +,+. For this, should have unhooked negative first (also in the manual and on the side of the case....).
Quick question being you have used this device. We have a Toyota Prius and it jumps through the Breaker box. We typically hook the positive to the post in the box and then the negative we hook to some metal part of the car. I have to check my engine area to see where the closest metal hook up is but if you were to hook up the positive to your battery about how far would the negative end reach around your engine area and still be able to be hooked up. Basically just need to know about how long the cable can reach? About. Thanks
Thanks for the video, but I recommend that you place the negative lead onto the cars chassis or engine ground to avoid any spark that could cause an explosion due to hydrogen gas emmitted by the battery..
Your Jeeps battery gets drained by factory stereo system, you need to either upgrade to 2din screen as people in 2018 normally do or keep it stock but cut the constant positive wire and add a manual switch in between your radio and battery.. Same problem most of Dodge Jeep Chrysler share... I am looking at your garage you have that fancy tool box but didn't fix it..
I have one.. bought it from Harbor Freight... It worked at the beginning, bit no more. It's FULLY CHARGED and the little red light blinks every time I try to use it. All I can say some of them ar GOOD and some of the them are NOT. LUCK OF THE DRAW.
Look up "Project Farm" on youTube for an in depth video on comparing 8 different jump start packs. Very informative and I learned alot...this jump start was one of the8 units tested. Enjoy...I dis.
Thanks Karen 👌 maybe next time you can make your own video review on here to post..That way, instead of reading a comment of you bitching about how and what time frame a video review should be, we’ll then be viewing a video of yours undoubtedly with another Karen bitching in the comments about how you filmed yours, 😃 See how that works??
It's topic, been wondering about gadgets like those. By the way, a bit aside; where did you get those battery terminals from? Looking into upgrading or refreshing my electricals on my XJ.
Mark A. Stephens Funny you should ask about that I was just going to upgrade the ones on my Grand Cherokee and I was searching my past purchases on eBay but it's been so many years ago when I bought those. I found similar ones on eBay. If you look up car audio battery terminals you will find them on eBay and Amazon
Every body puts that now because under the right conditions hooking up both terminals directly to the battery could cause a spark and explosion. Very unlikely but it's possible and the company doesn't want to be sued so now everyone pits it as a warning.
I'm not 100% positive, but I think you just put it in bypass mode, and could explode your battery if you're not carful.. unless of course your battery is totally dead... from what I understand you only push the bypass button or as you called the "green light" if you don't have a battery and you need to bypass....it gives the full cranking amps... you should be able to jump without pushing that button if you have a half charged battery or better ... however, I could be wrong... I have the GB40 and it's almost exactly the same as far as the features and buttons, USB, flashlight, etc
The first button is the power button press and hold for one second to turn on USB and 12 volt ports.. jump start button press and hold until green light turns on. Jumpstart mode lasts for 1 minute. Use only to jump start vehicle battery. I used it correctly.
@@martinbuilt mine must be different then...in the GB40, GB70, etc, you push the power button, then it's ready to jump if you have a battery thats holding a half decent charge...and you only hit the bypass button if you are trying to jump a completely Dead battery or if the car doesn't have a battery at all ...
@@vunit8213 yeah that definitely sounds different. I've been very impressed with the Harbor Freight Viking. I jump-started vehicles that had completely dead batteries and a friend of mine's Ford diesel it cranked for I would say 8 to 10 seconds before it fired up I was very impressed.
On the Viking if you hook the terminals up backwards and press the jump start button it will just beep and Flash to alert you that you have reverse polarity.
I bought a different brand off Amazon it stopped working after a few months... is your Harbor Freight Viking Compact Power Pack still working? if not how long did it last? thank you very much and have a wonderful day!
I have jump started several vehicles where the battery is completely dead to the point even a dome lights won't come on and as soon as I hook it up I can start the vehicle instantly.
PhatJay It does come with a 75% charge. It takes just a few hours to charge it up to 100%. Since this review I went ahead and bought a second one so now I have one for each vehicle. If you check out the harbor freight coupons every once awhile they put these on sale. I just purchased the second one for $59.99
