Harbour Fishing With The New Best Bait!?!
Gday everyone and welcome back. Now im aware its been quite some time since i did a challenge video. So today i thought id do another. I was scrolling through RU-vid the other day searching for some video ideas, when i came across some people using hot potato chips as bait. I only seen 2 videos and the people in the videos seamed to have some good success. So I went to my local harbour. Bought myself a pack of chippies, and put this too the test. Lets just say....it works pretty damn affectively!!

I was fishing at a dock just chilling with my mates a while back, we went and bought some chips as lunch and one of my friend through one on a hook, that day he caught a 78cm flatty, a day to remember

Well you never cease to amaze and entertain Josh…..I have watched you land massive flatties, whiting, bream, trevally and various pelagics then here today you are around the docks and boats fishing with “hot chips” and landing small fish yet seem to be enjoying the experience as much as any other you have presented. Those bust offs …..wow, “they’re too big and too quick”…..yet you never gave up……Great video again Josh.

Yeah well it’s something different and I thought I’d give it a go. There is a couple videos on RU-vid of people using hot chips but I really wanted to do one of my own. And yeah the fish loved em. Caught plenty of fish but non with great size. Well they would have been good size if I was able to land some of those big ones that busted man :( Oh well maybe next time aye

Cracking video and love them chips …. Over here in the uk we have a fish called a chub ( freshwater fish ) and they love chips ….. unfortunately so do I so they very rarely end up going on the hook 🤣🤣🤣🤣….. That was an awesome fishing session with some rod bending action. Shame you lost some of the fish but that’s how it goes. Better to have hooked than not at all !! All the best 👍🏽😀🎣

Our grandkids use chips at Forster every time we head over there and they always have a great time catching and releasing a great variety of fish its simple back to basic fishing good fun watch the excitement on their faces

Mate's always made fun of me for using left over chips from chickos in wollongong, I've never caught anything on it though! Glad you got some quality footage of chips working !

Use lures or cast chunks of bait in slightly deeper water like in the bigger rivers

Well done. Spot on. I did the same thing. Other day was at lunar park. While we was having lunch. A noticed someone left a bunch of line tangled up.. saw heaps of stonker bream in a corner hanging out. Threw a bit of chip in that i was munching on and saw them smash it. Mum was so finishing her meal so i had an idea. I told Katie to go get a few pcs of chips that she didn't want to eat. While i went to retrieve that left over line and untangle a decent length of line And retied the hook that i found. Blah blah... you know the story. Caught 2 stonker bream, released on the spot of course. And discarded the rest of the found line in the bin. Then went back to lunar park ... Best random lunch break bream season ever. Chips ❤

Mate the mouth of the dulla harbour there produces some decent fish if you sit where some of the big boats dock right at the mouth. Caught a 48cm Trevally and 52cm flatly among multiple multiple baby bream. The diving to break you off tho is super intense so you gotta be switched on. Watch out for some of the biggest rays I’ve ever seen tho Holy.

Id recommend going Sydney harbour rushcutters Bay i fish there slot and there's plenty of kings even some nice size ones as well as nearly every fish you can catch in new Saltwater I use a 6.6 2-4kg Ezekiel Stryker and have even brought up some legal kings on 14 lb and have gotten many on metals in the winter if you're around in the summer though suga pens work well for them casting into bustups, etc

Great video, inspired me to head to my local marina and fish off the jetty. I was using chicken breast rather than chips but caught a pb bream, structure is the way to go!

Dayum... lucky you josh. We cant fish in the marina/harbour here. They scared of hook ups, n then hook well embedded in fish, it wraps round pylon n you break off, n fish is just stuck. Or lines getting caught up in propellers etc. The fishes now you cant fish there, n they all showing off.. see em clear as day lol (Fishes IS a word when talking bout multiple kinds of fish)

Reminds me of when we were using frozen shrimp for catch and release bay fishing. After releasing many fish and using up all the shrimp we joked that eating the shrimp and using lures might have made more sense.

bro i tell u what - up here at chinderah theres this bakery called cubby, its really expensive and on the tweed river, but all of the people there eat on the bank and chuck their leftovers in. if ur ever up here its a must when fishing with bread, so many monster bream 👍👍

Cheer mate. It really is true. The bigger the lure the bigger the fish. Sometimes they will hit small stuff. But for those 80+ cm fish just stay chucking those big lures

Bwaaaahahaha. I have a spot where the 50cm plus bream only eat scraps from the marina cafe above. Bacon and chips! I leave them alone now but tested every placcy and bait till i tested a chip and then realised it was no challenge. Lol lol lol. Work the system chop!

Caught my biggest bream on some left over steak in JB. I've heard plenty of baits like chewing gum, chicken, and yes even chips. Bream aren't that fussy if they're on the bite.

Switch your crank handle over to the left and use your right hand to handle the rod... You'll get more control and you'll drag the fish out.

Well I'll be dipped! I thought only hillbillies such as myself would insult a poor fish with a french fry. Thats classified info haha. Tater Tots work also, best if they are about half unthawed. Killer carp bait! Cheap easy and a bag lasts awhile. Great way to introduce children too. CHEERS from West Virginia usa.

I fish a very similar type of spot, pretty much the same result with decent yakkas and smallish bream, the bream in these kinda spots are hard to get.
