Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.

Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

Nice job on these! I always get a chuckle when you folks on the other side of the pond say “Hoovering” whereas we say “Vacuuming” 😅 I think the Hoover company has stopped making vacuums, but I know they were very well made and lasted for years, also very heavy as I recall as my mom had one. You got your exercise “hoovering” when I was a kid! 😊

My mom always told me that any physical problem can be cured by losing weight. Are you saying that dry wax cannot be cured with dieting? 🤣🤣🤣 And that it may be HER fault if I have dry wax (genetics)? 🤣🤣🤣 (Seriously, I knew the physiological reality, but that doesn’t mean mom didn’t say it!)

Your mother is delulu lol. Moms say some unbelievable things sometimes. Sometimes, they are correct but not always My mom had some gems "Everyone should try acid once," "Someday you will tell a therapist it's all my fault," "Strippers make really good money." (I was 19 recovering from cervical cancer surgery, ended a 4 year abusive relationship, and she was driving me to the homeless youth facility.) Hint #2 was correct, lol

@@CherrysJubileeJoyfully Thank you so much for sharing that. Mom (and Dad) are a popular subject with my therapist. My abusive ex is, too. That word, “blame” in #2 troubles me. It implies that they didn’t do psychological damage, we’re just unable to take responsibility for our feelings and actions. 🙄 I think we’re charter members of the Delulu Mothers Club!

"Fortnight"? Are you from North America, perhaps? In Britain and here in Australia (and I found confirmation on Reddit for Ireland and New Zealand as well), "fortnight" is a completely unremarkable word, like "week" or "month". My recycling bin gets emptied once a fortnight. I get paid fortnightly. And so on.

I am! The closest we get to saying fortnight on a regular basis is in relation to Taylor Swift 😂 or I’m an avid reader, so I read it frequently but we don’t usually say it in normal dad to day conversations. That’s so fun!

Not sure if you will see this comment. Hopefully you do. I have an ear camera and I noticed a black dot inside each ear (almost looks like a blackhead next to each of the little boney part of each eardrum. Are they blackheads or something more serious?

Mr. B, I hope your recommendations for use of olive oil are getting the word out! I've never heard any ear specialist in the US suggest this; maybe you and Taylor should come over here and spread the good word at a North American audiology conference, or something along those lines. The color is the light reflecting off of the ear wax. They use an iPhone that has an attachment for the endoscope. It was talked about in a couple of videos I believe

Hello Rhys! When you said you had “rock solid, hard as nails” wax to remove, you weren’t kidding! Ugh! What I enjoyed the most was when you were able to pull not one, but TWO giant wax balls out of the patient’s ears! The best view was of the first one. When you pulled it out and held it up, it looked like something I should put a hook into and go fishing with it! They’re both “lunker” worthy!
