I had tough beginning in Tenerife. All my plans have burst. My host bailed on me, the people I had a deal with to record a video, all of a sudden stopped responding. So, after landing I had no place to stay, no plans, and I was all alone. I actually spend the first night at the beach with no tent at the stormy weather. Every 1 or 2 hours I was woken up by every rustle nearby. It was in El Medano. But the next day everything looked brighter, more positive and the sunrise on the beach near the ocean made up for the night.
El Medano is a southern coastal city of Tenerife. The town is not about the historic sites it is about pure nature and sport experience. Especially surprising is the Red Mountain, a volcanic cone of magical reddish colors visible from all points. The Windsurfing World Championships are held here and this is why it attracts so many wind and kite surfers from around the world to its beaches. There is a thriving wind and kite surfing community here with small surf shops and schools supporting all their needs.
When I was wandering around the town I encountered really experienced kite surfer who willingly brought me into his passion.
