It could just be that those songs were burned into my brain at 12 years old but “Theater of Pain” is great. I know all the lyrics, riffs and guitar solo notes on that album. Love it!!
Hey Steve. Ya hit on some of my favorites. That Twisted Sister is great. Reb played most of the solos from what I understand. Turbo rocks. Heard Priest but that was the first album I bought of thiers. Saxon is a band I should get into, but there are so many albums I've been putting off digging into thier catalog. Anyway good topic, good choices, great job.🤟
Thanks Dean. Yes I'm kind of the same with Saxon. Know their 80s stuff fairly well but that's about it. No doubt I will enjoy their other albums but haven't got to them yet.
@@GrabAStackofRocK Martin is great but I've done shows called zero out of 10 but I like it (Martin gave the 2 Giant albums and Triumph's Sport Of Kings and Surveillance zero out of 10).
Thanks Steve. I must admit I have most of these except the black sabbath which doesn’t sound like sabbath. The crue, sister, priest, ozzy, kiss were my favourite bands in the 80’ plus Dio and quiet riot. Scared heart and QRlll would fit nicely in this !
That intro for Out in the Cold is so 80's, that synth - I agree, Turbo is a great album, it is their most commercial, catchy album but what is wrong with that!!! 🤘
Everybodys Metal journey is different . For you " Turbo " , for me I actually enjoyed Judas Priests " Demolition " after years of hearing it was trash. I do like " Seventh Star " as well and have a soft spot for " Crazy, Crazy Nights " as used to blast it on cassette in my car in my teens. Its just like movies, critics have trashed a movie, I have gone on to really value.
Saxon indeed has 24 albums! Good guess! :) LOL! Still bitter about Seventh Star and Glenn Hughes eh?? LOL! I also own and like all the albums you mentionned!
I learnt about it being 24 albums from the trivia quiz we did - just like I learnt Glenn Hughes is a former Black Sabbath vocalist :) Oh yeah I'm not bitter 😉
I think people's opinion of a band's 'right style' depends on the albums they first hear... and anything different makes them question... I have several bands that I prefer certain era's of their music over others... but that doesn't mean the rest is 'bad' or worse or anything
I love the Black Sabbath album Cross Purposes ... but most say it is sub standard, also Def Lep is one of my Favorite bands and I appreciate ALL of their catalog... even though the latest stuff isn't my preferred Have to say you didn't play anything I was against... love all that era music... people's ideas are so focused in that they think a band should be/sound like
