The problem isnt even the fact that they spar too hard its the fact that the gym has no discipline

Cant just let fighters do whatever they want in ur gym there has to be consequences for immature behaviour. Owning a gym u have to realize ur creating legitimate killers if u dont teach them discipline and respect then u are failing as a coach regardless of how tough or successful ur fighters are. If ur gonna teach ppl these kind of skills u have a moral responsibility to teach them the humility and respect that should come with it as well. No one respects an undisciplined fighter no matter how good they are.

Idk man, I started training under Royce in 07 and learned the history of jiu jitsu and everything this guy is saying is spot on. The 70s and 80s the entire Gracie family was wild af

Yeah jj was way different. Remember in Brazil doing jj was looked at like a thug activity for a while. The reputation was recovered eventually.
