In 2016, my cousin launched his inaugural yearly music festival which he dubbed "The Hinson Hill Music Festival". The festival features various local musicians playing solo sets throughout the day at his house in rural West Tennessee.
In 2018, performers at the Hinson Hill Festival combined their efforts and joined together to form The Hinson Hill Band. The group would go on to play live shows in Northwest Tennessee and raise money for a number of charities in the area.
This performance of "Hard Sun" is from the very first Hinson Hill Music Festival in June 2016. I performed a solo set that included songs from Nirvana and Brian Vander Ark in addition to this one from Vedder.
The song was originally written by Canadian Gordon Peterson.
It's definitely one of the standout tracks from the Into The Wild soundtrack.
