Hello there guys today i will be showing you guys how to hard wire the dash cam to your car, the first part where i did the wire is where i got the wrong size fuse adapter but it came with the usb to power the dash cam which i liked so what i did is i got the right size fuse adapter but where i can connect the right one with the wrong one by cutting the other wrong fuse off and add the right one with the adapter which is included when getting the right size fuse adapter, ill be linking everything here:

But that's how the camera runs, only when the ignition is on. I would like to use parking monitoring with my dashcam. What fuse has permanent power in the trunk

How long was your cable? Most cables are 4 meters long. I have an E class Mercedes. The 4 meter cable was not long enough! I looked for longer. Nextbase do one that’s 5 meters but even that may be a bit short. Any ideas?

Could you please tell me which fuse did you tap into for the constant power? As needed for parking mode

?? He has tapped into 71 which powdrs ghe cegeret lighter which is still powered in parking mode . Only if you turn off the car wont be on unless you want one to be constantly.on when not using the car

I've just done mine. I put my dash cam other side of the mirror so I don't see it not in view. I was annoyed to find no fuse box as the side trim near the steering wheel !

Hm.. not sure you're supposed to put a wire on the way of the airbag - rather take the pillar cover off and run wire behind the ab.

What's the reason for choosing the trunk fuse box instead of the engine one

shouldn't matter.. maybe easier to wire to the trunk than through the front dash to the engine area.

It’s far easier to run it down the sill to the boot, if you use the front fuse box you have to mess about punching a hole in the firewall, and these Mercedes have layers of firewall, plus carpets and plastics shielding it.

@@coolprintingsuk yeah I chose the back while doing my installation. But for the trunk portion I ran it through the spare comparment. It would of been difficult for a thinkware hardwire kit to go through small creveous

The A-pillar not done very well, you will be disturbing the airbag doing it that way

Suggest not to mount you recording cam on your head, it is quite dizzy watching your video, I think a station mount would produce a much better and more enjoyable video.
