Beautiful video. I have bad knees and can only dream of going on treks like this - but I'm so grateful people like you make their videos available, so I can enjoy and dream!
Hi Thomas, thanks for watching and your comment. My country is Switzerland. But nature in Norway is a little bit similar - especially in the mountains. atb - Heini
Thank you for your amazing video! We have been tree weeks in the Norwegian mountains this year - try to have a trip every summer. (And winter). Hope to see a video from your Børgefjell-tur this year. Atb from Tove and Kaja
Thanks for your comment. I finally changed my plan to go to the Børgefjell. The time to do this trip was to short. However I spent a beautiful week in Dovrefjell. I'm working on my video and will upload it soon. Kind regards - Heini
High quality footage there mate. It`s easy to see how big effort you've done to film it like moving your camera along the path during your trek. Music goes perfectly along with it as well. Looking forward to see your future adventures. ATB. Morten.
+MM Outdoor Hi Morten, thank you for your comment. On my first two trips in Norway I have had exeptionally good weather. This makes it a lot easier to take good records. I make my videos sequences just with my Compact Camera Canon Powershot G15 (now G16) and a little tripod.
Thanks for your kind comment. Hardangervidda was my first Trekking trip in Norway. I always had good weather. By crossing a creek I almost had lost one shoe. It felt down from my backpack and I was happy to find it again some meters down the creek. Finishing with one shoe only would have been not so pleasant;-)
Heini Hefti No indeed! That would've been a very tough trek. I almost lost a Salomon Speedcross two weeks ago in a bog in Scotland, was lucky it didn't come off, it was a pitch black night too. You take care Heini, I'll look forward to seeing your latest film sir. 👍🏼
Great video Heini, I did a loop around the Hardangerjokulen last summer, from Finse, around counter-clockwise and back to Finse. But the bridge over the glacier outlet at Rembesdalsvatnet is now washed away. I do not know if they will fix it for 2019.
Hi Andrew, thanks for watching and commenting my video. I recently saw on ut.no that the trak nearby Rembesdalseter is no longer the same as it was then. I have fond memories of my first Norwegian trip in the summer of 2013. Heini
My husband and I will go this August. We have not yet decided where to hike (ca 100 -130 km) What would your advice be. What is the nicest place you have hiked in Norway (or other people who see this comment)? We were thinking about: Jotunheimen / Rondane / Hardangervidda. Please let me know :)
+bombingbloke Thanks for your comment. There is no name of the trail. I just crossed Hardangervidda from South to North. I started in Haukeliseter, went to Hellevassbu, Litlos, Torehytten, Hadlaskard, Hedlo, Liseth, Rembesdalseter and finally to Finse (DNT Cabins). You can find this cabins on www.ut.no/kart/ I had unusual good weather on my trip in summer 2013.
Thanks for making this videos! They are a great inspiration for me! I really like all of them! I am going to hike solo this August from Kinsarvik to Rjukan (West to east~ 165km) Could you answer me a few questions? Where is the little mountain you climb at 6:30? How much kg did you carry? And what programm do you use to cut your videos? Thanks, hope to see another Tour of you after this summer ;) Greetings, Martin from Austria :)
Thanks for your comment! The mountain calls Hårteigen and is situated south-east from the DNT cabin Torehytten. The backpack's weight for my Hardangervidda-Trip was at the beginning about 18-19 kg. The one for Saltfjellet was about 23 kg. I use Adobe Premiere to cut my videos. More informations about my trips you can find also at www.hikr.org/tour/post70473.html - or send me a private message - auch in deutsch - Gruss Heini
Hi, it is an Solerunner, the are extremly lightweigt and also good in the evening around the tent or also in cabins. Unfortunatly I have lost them on my trip in Rondane last year. www.sole-runner.com/ Kind regards - Heini
Hello heini, at first thanks for your vidéos witch are always an inspiration for our trips. can you please give me the different steps of your trek? thanks to you
Hi, sorry I didn't notice your comment. I started in Haukeliseter in the evenig and went on the first day until Mannevatn. On the second day a litte further then Hellevassbu (Sigridtjörni). Day 3 until Litlos, day 4 until Torehytten, day 5 over Hadlaskard to Hedlo, day 6 until Liset, day 7 to Rembesdalsseter, day 8 to the final destination Finse. See unter www.ut.no. You will find this cabins and the way I walked form south to nord. Thanks for watching and your comment - Heini
Thank you for the inspiration! me my son and my Fioncè and her younger brother and our dog. is going to do the same trip as you did from south to north in 3 weeks. how many days did you use ? we are starting at 30 july.
Hi, I started on 21.07.13 in the evening from Haukeliseter and arrived Finse on 28.07.2016. I had exceptional good weather in 2013. I wish you a nice trip!
Hi Heini.. I am going in mid june for 2-3 nights. I am traveling from Copenhagen to Oslo. I was thinking of doing a small trip from haukeliseter, but only 2-3 nights. But is there another area besides hardangervidda you could recommend a nice 2-3 nigt trip not to far from oslo?
Hi Morten, mid june is probably to early in the saison for Hardangervidda. Depending of the winter there could be still a lot of snow and the rivers have a lot of water. Furthermore the bridges are then not yet installed. see on www.dnt.no/ Kind regards - Heini
Great video, lots of work put into it! I would like to know how you managed your food? I am planning on doing a trek with a couple of friends and I am unsure of the types of food to bring and how to replenish our supplies if we have to. Thank you
Hi Tam, thanks for your comment. At Hardangervidda there are cabins about every 20 km. This cabins have a "little shop" where you can buy some things like soup, tea, sugar, some sweets etc. But I think that it is not wrong to have food for two days in your rucksack. Further Information you can find on the official site of Den Norske Turistforeningen www.dnt.no/ Kind regards - Heini
+Heini Hefti Awesome, nice to hear that. And just personally, what were your favorite parts of Norway for trekking (if you went elsewhere)? The country has so much places to visit it's hard to choose!
Until now I have been tree times in Norway. Hardangervidda, Saltfjellet og Svartisen, and last year Rondane Nationalpark. The Saltfjellet og Svartisen is northern the Polar Circle is my favorite. The light there is beautiful (when the sun is shining). You will probably not face anyone there and the paths are not easy going. This year I will visit the Børgefjell.
Thanks for for your comment! I saw in your video, that we camped about at the same spot at Mannevatn. It is beautiful there and also further on at Holmasjøen.
Hallo Heini! Super Video!
Gruss Heini
Yes, this is old snow from the last winter and it's quite normal that there is some snow even the hole year. In Hardangervidda you can not start a trip prior to mid july. The bridges will not be rebuilt until then. Due to the snowmelt, the streams then have a lot of water. Around mid-October the bridges will be removed again. Thanks for watching - Heini
Thanks for watching and your comment. Yes, your're right. The sound is the most difficult part in filming. Especially on trekking trips . If you are tired it's hard to film and also have a look at sound. A good sound is as important as the image quality. Heini
