Not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf for the last few weeks :)
I think Gavin is the best drummer in the world. Creative, tasteful and groovy in a way that no one else has achieved in my opinion. Also incredible tone.
I'm never not gonna see Gavin Harrison and think of him in Mudvayne makeup now lmao. That's fucking amazing. Totally fucking worth it. Somebody please get on making a mockup of this.
I know you're a busy lad Craig but if you have a free moment check out Jared Klein from Rivers of Nihil playing the song Death is Real in studio. Only triggers on the base drum and no post editing. I'm not asking for a reaction video or anything...but as a fellow drummer I think you'll enjoy watching this dude. These fellas put out two of my favorite metal albums in the last 5-6 years. Thanks for your time and I always look forward to Craig Reynolds videos in my subscription box. Hope you have a good day mate.
love Bugles....that Mudvayne reference was spot on....by the way, Matt Mcdonough of Mudvayne is a criminally underrated drummer. Super tasty playing, and creative as well as super complex....not to mention his taste in gear is pure class too. Shame there isn't much footage of him, he seems to have laid low, but he's the real deal...
With my last name being Gavin I fully expect an entire drum cover with no less than 50 cymbal chokes and lmfao super slow sounds like deftones after a wake and bake
Blackwater Park is the best metal album of all time. Leper Affinity is the quintessential Opeth song. I drum that entire album many times a week, except the Blackwater Park song has too long of double bass so that always fucks me. But yeah, Gavins kit is the best sounding drums I’ve ever heard. His snare alone is just mind blowing, but also costs more than 4 of my snare, a Tama SLP Gumwood. Gavin is one of the best drummers whose ever lived. There is good drumming; there is great drumming, then there is Gavin
Agree on most tasteful - together with Baard Kolstad. And what's really important except tastefulness? Nothing! (Since it's about how the drumparts are "composed"/created)
Steven Wilson is "We live in a society" in musical form. Biggest meme about him is that he is T-Total but writes a lot of music about doing drugs. Oh and he's from fucking Hemel Hempstead
Isn't Gavin's DARK SECRET in his book? hehe You were talking about his snare on this and how nice it is, The snare that you have in your UK Drum Show 2018 vid playing "First World Problem Child" by Stray From The Path Is TASTY!
@@Virvum_Juggernaut I remember going into Leeds to buy Alters of Madness. I bought Beneath the remains at the same time. Those were the days. Blessed are the sick is absolute class.
10:42 - This thing is annoying isn't it. Clicks the button to drop the menu and reveal "Activate Windows" in its place. Yes Craig, it is annoying. Thank you for acknowledging. :)
spent a bit of time on this but i think the lick at the end is groups of 5s played at a sixteenth note rate, but it starts on the and of 4 after he hits the hihat with the L on beat 4 (so it is also displaced): L--Rlr rlRLrr lRLrrl RLrrlR LRLRL (the last beat is 3 sixteenth note triplets followed by 2 sixteenth notes)
Wouldn't have thought a dude in SFTP would have such a ripping sense of humour, the Steven Wilson fartsniffing reference is more accurate than Gavin H's drumming
