Today I did a 3ish km driveway where the snow drifts are 5 to 6 feet deep in some spots, way higher than the snow blower. this is what I did (with my MK martin meteor 7 foot, single auger snow blower)
Heck yeah dude! One of my favorite Massey/snow videos yet! I had to do the same this spring when I purchased my 1740/75" snow blower. This gets me excited for winter. Subscribed. I'll be making similar videos also. Thanks
no idea why youtube recommended this to me ( 3 years after it was posted lol ) but man did that look like fun! i think it would be hard to call doing that work. i mean, i would still call it work, cause i would not want folks think i was playing. but honestly, really, i would be playing, lol.
All I can think of is the Jimmy Hendrix song, Break on Through to the Other Side. Lol Funny thing is I do plowing and blowing snow for a living in the winter. I just love it, it's almost therapeutic. My wife tells people that I get so excited when it starts to snow, that I'm like a new puppy that's about to wet the floor. Well she not far from wrong.
that was oddly satisfying,, i could have watched the entire cleaning effort,, ended up watching the vid over again, i have a international 2500 b series with am IH-80 blower
I always wanted to use a Versatile/NH Bi-directional tractor on a snowblower like this so you could be facing which way you were going and you would have hydro-drive so you could control your speed.
I would agree, it would help to bring the engine rpm up a little. It doesn't look like your throwing the snow very far. 90 hp tractor should be sending that snow 75 ft or more. Curious what is your rpm in this video?
Some days I wish I lived in the country where I needed to use one of those, but I got older and am kind of glad I don't, maybe one day I will again but you have to have the money to get the equipment you need to take care of yourself. If that tractor struggled a garden tractor you'd be there all day.
That's because your using the shoot it is restricting the flow of snow. If your blower has a bail unit you should use it. It's the drum underneath the shoot it rotates left to right and it will fire the snow 3 times the distance
rear plows are ok, these units only have 540 rpm PTO too slow, this comes with a front bucket attachment so you buy a front plow the mounts with quick disconnect hydraulics and mounting pins and you will have a pump that will give 1000 rpms and more flexibility, most front mount blowers are max of 6 feet wide which is ok, they are still far more productive than rear mounts and as one reader said it is far more ergonomic and safer for the operator to use without neck strain and able to handle this 3 kilometre driveway much easier. good video
Some drift cutters would really help you out. At least the road had makers to follow. The town just needs a v-plow they can mount onto a front end loader for this stretch.
Nice video! The highest drifts I've had this year are just over 3' and it was way too much screwing around to get out at night and set up a camera. The tractor isn't bogging down, what is the blower mounted on?
Very impressive. I know that this will not help for the first pass. Have you thought about putting on some knives on the edges? Very easy to do. Get some straight 1/4 x 2 inch stock and drill some holes and mount it at about 30 degrees. let it stick out about 2 to 3 feet. Makes second pass much easier. Look at the big boys, this is how they do it. I know, I use to run one.
I wld get boss v plow on tractor then blower it on the edge. And add fence to help less snow blow over the driveway. Good reason to get out house to let ur lady take care of laundry, dinner etc:)
needs something for the drifts. Cheapest option is drift cutters. more expensive option would be mount the blower inplace of the bucket for easier manuvering. Kinda like the Bobcat UTV does.
I'm just curious, why do you wait until you get that much? I would think it would be much easier on the machine if you went out and cleared when you have a foot or 2, not to mention it would probably actually take less time.
You should add another chopper auger above the bottom one then chain drive it off of the bottom auger the blower would perform better. And an old pickup with a power plant on back and the blower on front would work so much better.
the beep is the tractor telling me to stop riding the clutch. but I don't want it to stall and I've got it in high revs so the snow will throw faster and farther but that makes me go to fast in reverse so . it is what it is ..
Tar Nation My 4608 has that same beep, but I decided that even though it happens when I'm standing on the clutch, it's actually the seat sensor yelling at me for getting off the seat while in gear. Try keeping more weight on the seat while clutching. It's tricky but the beep will stop.
mine beeps because of the seat too, but I think it also beeps if your in gear and have the clutch half in for more than like 10 seconds. check it out on yours
You are from northern Ontario. Creamor is our local beverage up here. So I naturally thought every one should be drinking it liberally. And that's the only liberal thing we need to do. Cheers.
If shot the snow higher you will not see mounds . That is a good thing , you will not be creating a big ass valley for snow to drop in when the wind is blowing. Just a country boy 58
Nice video, you couldn't have done that without that tractor. Where are you located? I'm in CO and just ordered the MF4610 with Woods 96" 2-stage blower, 38" high. My driveway has a lot of rocks so I had to go with the 1000 RPM gear option with a clutch assembly instead of using shear bolts for protection.
I'm in Ontario Canada. there is only 2 seasons in this country.. winter .. and construction.. ha that's a Canada joke for ya. we complain both times of year..ha anyway. ya ive been driving an old ford 65 horse tractor and its really sweet too but I can tell that the massey is way stronger and ha ya that day I was wishing I had a bit bigger snow blower .. but I got it done so I guess I had the perfect tractor for the job...by the way, what engine is in the 4610
i used to put a 85.5hp kubota m8540 through 5 feet high of snow one winter but took long time while blowing snow backwards so i ended up modified the rear blower and made it into a front mounted on to a loader and made some difference
i did finish but my camera didn't have enough film to keep going and it was crazy the whole way.. don't worry there will be more coming as soon as the snow gets here
Now get a snowmobile and go out into the fields on both sides of the road to catch future snow. Just keep making some lines out there about five feet apart. Too late to install a snow fence but that will create a natural barrier for it.
Why do you blow the snow across your field of vision ? doesn't seem windy that day, so why not have the chute going to the right side ? never done this--just wondering....
SailorAllan that's where the snow came from. That's probably the prevailing wind direction. If he blew it to the right it would make the drift larger the next time it blows
back when i was a kid...we walked to school BOTH ways through snow deeper than that!!! We left at 3 in the morning and got home at midnite... then we had to scoop that snow WITH OUR HANDS!!!!
There are no illegal migrants in Mexico . Once they reach the US border they declare themselves . That is their right . Nothing illegal about that . Daaaaaaa
Michel Guimond not everybody has front lifting arms and why buy one of those expensive PTO adapters to run one up front? Your talking big money cause that requires a front mount blower too.
The front mount blower for my tractor was twice the cost of the 3-point blower. And, with the 3-point blower, you still get to have your front end loader, which can come in handy.
@@MJ12283 You got that right! I couldn't believe how much more. Last year I sold my Deere tractors and switched to Fendt. I ordered all of them with front PTO's. I also sold my Deere HX20 mower to my neighbor, so after shopping mowers I decided to buy Schulte. They also make blowers which made my Deere rear mount look like junk. I decided to sell it which oddly sold for practically what I paid new. I did take care of it, I power wash my blower and snow wing and spray them with used hydraulic oil so they don't rust in summer. A 20 year used blower selling for almost new is absurd. Anyway, nothing prepared me for the sticker shock of the Schulte RDX-117. Last year we had a 17", 33" and 19" snow storms and I never missed having a loader, in fact I only used my HLA snow wing once.
