I can’t stress enough how important it is to talk with every npc you can whenever you can. You learn so much about what’s going on. Also, grab as much nectar as you can. Gifting them to the npcs and gods are how you get heirlooms.

Hutts is seriously underrated. Not even kidding, been watching him for years, seriously deserves to be noticed more.

Yes, you can "override" boons from the main boon slots. Fun fact, revenge boons stack. Now, let's wait til Hutts discovers Erebus and the Pact of Punishment

Yo Hutts, I recommend you learning how to use Cast. In the future, there'll be an ability in the Mirror called "Boiling Blood", that gives you bonus damage if enemies have the Cast crystals in them. Plus, you only get a decent use of Cast with the Boons, in my opinion, so you should get a Cast ability that complements the rest of your build. Other than that, doing good!

Little mythology fact: Hades is the name of both the Cthonic god and the underworld

Also if you focus the minotaur. The other guy indicates when he is going to attack you with his spear. A targeting reticle appears on zags head for like half a second giving you time to dash away. The harder part comes when you kill the minotaur.

Huts just saw 69 and immediately replaced agony without seeing that it said replace

I've personally picked up Hades and I have to say, the cast is VERY important. lots of the cast upgrades are really important, and if you use them right, they can deal really good damage. plus, madly dodging everywhere is, infact, a strategy. edit: forgot to say that you should probably give a nectar to cerberus, it gives a keepsake that gives you max health

Just so you know, it actually did tell you that you are replacing another boon, in the lower right corner of the item's row. You can only have one boon of each type, except for some cases where a combined ability from two different gods exists. But these are also clearly differentiable from normal ones.

Don't forget that you can only have a Boon for each type of attack (Attack, Special, Cast). When you chose Posiedon before the Hydra fight, you overwrote the Doom.

Theseus is a deutsche, the best bet here is to try to keep them in range and save your dashes for dodges. line of sight means control. Minotaur is all melee and jump, but Theseus is a coward. focus the minotaur when he winds up count a half second and dash. They are pretty brutal at first but the intensity is worse than the fight. You got this my bro.

Hutts, the little skull symbol on the preview of the next room shows the difficulty / kind of room you're going to face. Just a skull means armored enemies, a skull and a red arrow means mini-boss and a skull with 2 red arrows means boss. Loving the videos :)

While Theseus is aiming to throw his spear at you, there will be a reticle above your head and a sound of them locking on. Once the reticle stops moving, he's about to throw the spear. This is also true for the bow guys in Elysium. As for the bull, I recommend focusing them first - never be standing directly in front of him or else when he swings, you'll more than likely get hit. When he leaps in the air, dashing towards The Minotaur will always dodge him - if you get hit anyways, that you were way late to dodge him and need to do it a lot sooner. A lot of the time, he'll leap 3 times in a row after slashing. (In the second stage of the bull, him hitting the ground or ramming into the wall sends 3 shockwaves ahead and to both the left and right of him.) About the boon thing - it *does* say when you swap a boon with another, there's a symbol for it that you ignored or scanned over when you swapped the Ares boon for attack with the one from Poseidon. While swapping a boon, the new boon is at-least the rarity of your old one and has a higher chance to be a better rarity. It will always be raised to the level that the old boon was.

Two tips for the Thesius fight, when the Bull charges, you need to lure him into a wall or pillar. For Thesius, you need to evade the javelin throws, the pink target that appears on you shows he's going throw soon (there's also an audio cue). As you always say, 90% of rogues are knowing the attack patterns :)

the hair of the gods is amazing. they all turn into their thing. Zeus beard turns into clouds, DIo's hair into grapes, Poseidon's into drops of water

I know most people tend to complain about issues or mistakes, but I'd like to say that I'm really excited to see you master the gameplay loop of Hades. It's one of those games that I found myself enjoying more and more, the more I played it, and the more I learned. It's incredibly satisfying once you get those boss patterns down, and Theseus gets a lot less threatening. Best of luck, Hutts!

Hutts, the little skull on the doors means enemies have the yellow shields. Minibosses usually have the skull with a red arrow, while boss bosses have skulls with big red arrows.

If Hurts thinks Theseus and Asterius are difficult, then just imagine what happens when he sees the next boss.

I love seeing Hutts punished for not having an aggressive playstyle 😂

Also tip for the Thesius & minotaur fight - always keep Thesius on your screen. He becomes much easier to evade that way.

I've seen it below and in going to repeat it in case you don't notice them: you absolutely have to talk to every NPC that you meet. It's something that you have to do ifyouwant to know what's going on in the game, and if you wanna be able to figure out which characters you can end up having Zagreus date, or will give you another item at a certain point (that mostly coincides with who you can romance but as far as I know only 3 characters can be romances, while 5 give you the extra item (the extra item is really useful))

Bounties (titan blood, diamonds etc) are one-time earns per weapon. You can repeat bounties later in the game

I watch Tear for the chaos, I watch Hutts for the expert lucky runs of games he barely knows how to play lol

But, It did say when you're going to replace skills. Also there's indication for Theseus' range attack. A crosshair in your character that will light up the moment he'll throw his spear

Dashing through the barriers is really helpful during the minotaur fight

Tip for you here: The bosses of Elysium are a royal pain at first, but with some studying you will learn that BOTH of their attacks are quite predictable. Asterios seems to go all melee 3 hit combo with a jumping slam most of the time, rapid dodging to his rear will avoid the worst of it. Watch out for his literal "Bull" rush though. Only way to stop that one is to make him slam into a wall or one of the spectator pillars in the arena. Once he is at 50% health he starts creating shockwave attacks to the front, left and right of him each time he does a jump slam. Again, stay behind him. As for the other guy, his shield is the biggest annoyance as you can only strike him from the sides or rear. But he is extremely predictable. If you keep your distance he will toss his spear at you. Dodge at the right moment or take cover behind one of the pillars. If you are too close he performs a spin lunge attack that can be difficult to dodge. Either way, whichever attack he uses you have a moment to strike back as he takes a breather each time he strikes. Once he goes below 50% he calls upon the aid of one of the gods, this might add a status effect to his attacks, but you will constantly be taking AOE attacks from above, with varying patterns for each god. The best way to take them both out is to single them out. Do not balance your damage between them and instead take one of them out first. Asterios is the best option for a first kill as he does not have a shield. Just watch it, the constant spear throws can whittle you down, especially as it can hit you TWICE per throw. (once on the toss, once on the return to sender). So try to keep a general idea of his location.

Poseidon's cast is one of the best casts in the game. Knocking enemies into walls deals massive damage.

4:28 just before you enter your chambers, check outside the gate on the right, you have poms of power growing on your backyard, or front door.

When Theseus is about to shoot, there'll be a marker following you, so keep an eye on that, if he's out of the screen

When your fighting the 3rd boss you can tell when theseus is going to through his spear at you when a pink crosshair is ok your character

The game says it is going to replace something when it does

Hades is different to other rogue-lites because the mirror just makes you stronger and gives you more lives, basically your first few runs are just farming shadow and keys for your mirror. I didn't win until my 30th or so run whereas isaac you can make a new save file and win your first run

Love the content! I would definitely try to get used to using casts . The boons are just augments on your existing abilities and you can start mixing effects from other gods , which after a mirror upgrade can increase damage by a lot .

there is a riticule on you when theseus is tracking his throw on you, it also makes a sound. You can time it s you don't get hit by theseus and focus down the bull first. That way you do not need to really know where theseus is at, and just dodge his throws. hope that helps

Infernal troves start a counter when you activate them, counting down from the resource number, i.e. 25 gemstones. When you kill all enemies it stops going down, so it’s impossible to get the max from infernal troves

out of context gungeon challenge: MELEE MASTER start with 2 armor of thorns not allowed to pick up casey, but if you get an A rarity chest or an S rarity chest, you can give yourself casey start with wooden blasphemy, but if you get a B rarity chest you can upgrade to standard blasphemy if you get casey, then get the cog of battle too

i know that everybody in the comments is talking about this hades game, and i've never played it, but i'm just gonna say, in my gaming career, little johnny from the surge two has got to be the hardest fight ever. you encounter him pretty soon in the game, and he has a move that if you try to strafe left on, he will softlock you until you pass under him. my strat was to just focus his legs first, then get his cooling tanks, again, not related to hades.

They are definitely muuuuch harder than all previous bosses. There are some things to watch, and patterns to learn with them, but still real hard. There is a mark on you when Theseus is about to throw his spear, also a increasing warning sound. Asterius hits in one, two, leap pattern. You can dash through pillars which helps when he's charging you. Unfortunately the fight also has another harder phase you didnt reach as well, so good luck. (Also cast is pretty weak at the start, but upgraded with boons and the mirror it can be crazy strong)

a game with bosses easier as u defeat them.. *but it triples the difficulty of the ones who defeat u* i love the hutts content and i wanna see more of this game so bad

The 2v1 coliseum fight is by far the hardest in the game imo. It’s essentially smough and ornstein from dark souls. Smough is in your face and swings in wide arcs. Deal with him first. Try to get away from the spear throws by line of sight. It took me way too many tries to get my first kill on them. Good luck and carry on!

My two pieces of advice. The Athena dash you got, which deflects, is probably the strongest defensive ability in the game. Also I feel the shield is the easiest weapon to win the game with. The game isn't too hard until the last two boss fights which will kick your ass. I found using the dash special on the shield makes those fights much easier. Especially if you have the dash deflect.

I facepalmed a little bit when he replaced curse of agony with the poseidon boon, even though I've done the exact same thing before.

On the 3rd boss, you can see if Theseus will throw the spear due to the pink mark above your character. Makes it a little less off-screen bs.

it'd be a good idea to figure out which effect (like doom, weak, etc.) provided by the gods suits your playstyle the most. then again, never underestimate the power of deflect, especially with some of the later bosses and enemies. But either way, 10/10, glad youre playing one of my favorite games

If you hit enemy with your cast it sticks to them and you do extra damage on your normal attack. And all of your attacks destroy enemy projectiles.

gotta use all ya tools mate. casts and specials are important too. Also keep track of your boons there are some powerful ones you'll not want to replace!
