On my playthrough, Radahn randomly decided to stop attacking my summons, make direct eye contact with my character, and bum-rush him at top speed. Never felt more tension and horror in my entire life
He will attack the host and be more aggressive towards, it looks like is some coding they did to the boss because I was summoned by my friend and with my blood build I lower his health so much while he was always looking for my friend while I was doing over 1k damage to his back

in the lore, it's explained that radahn's horse was his most trusted companion and best friend since childhood. later on in life, radahn learned to master gravity magic from sorcerers. after this point radahn didn't need his horse anymore, but he refused to let him go. even after radahn went mad from from the scarlet rot and began feeding on the bodies of those he conquered, he continues to ride his favorite horse, constantly using gravity magic to keep from crushing him...
Lore wise, dude straight up S tier. Learnt antigravity magic just so he could keep riding his horse. Used most of his power to hold back the stars from falling and won against most others using just a fraction of his original power. Dude didn't die to the rot either but slowly went mad with it, but still held back the stars despite all this. People held a festival to give him the farewell he should deserve. Plus Dude comes in like a meteor too and lastly, the music fuckin slaps like a war hymn.
@@geordiejones5618 its actually too good, meteorite staff has S tier int scaling and boosts gravity sorc, so high int and rock sling with this build busts most bosses, its kinda stupid

Things about radahn is he's the most loved demigod after miquella, 1.He was stopping stars from hitting earth using his gravity spell even though he had been corrupted by scarlet rot. 2. Learned gravity spell to avoid hurting or parting with his horse. 3. He was so respected that his soldiers even after him bieng corrupted stick by his side and we're using flame to remove scarlet rot from cellia. That's why they started radahn festival to give him a warriors death. 4.when we fight radahn he's in extremely nerfed stage. Where he is basically a zombie and I guess most of his strength was utilised in stopping stars. 5. Even after loosing his mind he still never harmed his horse Leonard.
I really love how for this one fight you can summon basically an army. Plus it is hilarious to watch patches spawn in and then say "f**k this s**t I'm out,"
Radahn murdered me so bad my first time around I genuinely thought he was the final boss of the game or something and that I was not supposed to be fighting him yet
He was originally well balanced for being fought after morgott imo. But now he’s fair after godrick and easy after rennala with his puny ass health bar. Doesn’t do his lore justice, unless they bring him back in a time travel dlc
@@pootzmagootzI disagree. I fight him underleveled with no summons and barely ever die. He does a lot of damage but that’s abt it. None of his move set is hard to dodge.

Killed him with my greatsword and using Determination, waiting for the right timing and dealing massive damage when I got an opening. I was kinda high level tho, about 70, idk what level people usually fight him but I've been exploring so much that I got to him at a pretty comfortable level.
For reference: he indeed could not accomplish this a single time without summons on his first playthrough. He tried everything he thought was, "easy" and failed everything. Don't mistake confidence for performance. He still failed miserably and that's why I love him.
He did say unless it’s really that difficult, so he didn’t guarantee he’d beat it without summons, just that he had successfully so far and didn’t want to cheese the boss with only magic, which he could’ve done solo then when he beat Kadahn said “Didn’t feel great about that”😂
It was the opposite for me really. I wanted to use the summons so it could be the raid they designed it to be. But after dozens of attempts and recognizing his move set for the most part. I decided to fight him completely solo and up close. Literally was the greatest boss I have beaten
@@zenvulcan2820 before the nerf if you just rode your horse behind him he would never turn around and attack you he would just ride away from you but you are just as fast on your horse so you could just slap his ass as he tried to outrun you. pretty easy way to kill him. when i got to him i was overleveled tho. so kinda of a breeze
Heres some fun facts about Radahn: 1) He learned gravity magic just so he didnt have to abandon his scrawny horse who he had since he was young. 2) The horses name is Leonard according to the files. 3) When you summon patches to the fight, he'll take one look at Radahn and peace out. 4) The Chad literally CONQUERED THE STARS. 5) He was actually holding back the meteorite that falls at the end of the boss fight. And the meteorite may or may not be Astel (just a little theory I have). 6) He actually is a good guy. Due to Malenia's scarlet rot, he slowly went insane and killed anyone like what Jerren says before the battle. And the fact theres a festival to put the fallen hero to rest is just wholesome, sad and amazing. Edit: heres a new one: 7) Radahn doesn't have feet.
I think the meteor is Astel because he’s literally in the hole where the meteor strikes down. And he’s a being from another world so it has to be Astel.
Damn i really like the astel theory, thats awesome! Radahn holding back that thing in his state? Just as if not cooler than just a normal huge ass star.
@@maxpayne421 Astel isn't in the crater. The crater is in the southern edge of Limgrave. Astel, Naturalborn of the Void's boss arena is farther to the northwest, past Stormveil castle, under the ocean.

i find it so beautiful that when Radahn jumps into the sky after half health and it goes silent then the music picks back up as he dives down it is so theatrical
I just started fighting him now. Playing solo it would probably be hard, but since it feels intended to be played with summons, I'm doing that and it's way more fun because it feels like a battle. In summation, after having beaten him, I feel like summons are definitely the best way to fight him. Running around the field in the second phase constantly summoning at a distance saps all enjoyment from it and I would never try it. Just summon at the beginning, play aggressive with the others handling aggro and poise, then in the second phase handle him with your remaining summons or solo for extra fun. It's the only fight in the series where I would recommend summoning, and for good reason. Best boss so far, can't wait to fight him solo on NG+.
...yeah dude. you're supposed to summon all the gold summon signs all over the place, over and over throughout the fight... it doesnt "feel" that way... it IS that way.
I'm not that far into the game, seeing this is fucking insane. Just his first phase alone is jaw dropping. Seeing him fly in like a meteor blew my mind. Can't wait to fight him
I had to change my claymore into a blood claymore with the bloody slash ash of war. Did him in 2 after that, I was only level 60 though I probably should have just leveled more before him
Took me like 80 tries. And that was with all the summons I used my horse the whole time on my last attempt and beat him so I'm not sure if that's what I had to do the whole time. I was using the golden halberd/grafted blade greatsword and I just kept getting one shot by most of his moves
He did though, he just didn't keep it in on this edit. Chat was teasing him for not being able to beat the boss without cheesing with summons and magic which he would brag about and be so proud of being able to do in every boss. He got mad, started saying chat was backseating so much that he was just going to end it right quick by cheesing it, however I would bet that the truth is that he said that just as an excuse for cheesing the boss after his pride got hurt by chat's teasing... And then he still ended up dying a few more times even after doing all the cheese strategies, which hurt his pride even further I imagine. But Charlie is a man of admirable humbleness indeed, he just got his pride hurt and lost his cool for a bit that's all.
@@Martoth0 your comment is so stupid bro he has never bragged about anything he just doesn't want to use summons and chat was being annoying stop acting like your a psychologist lol. you have no idea how it feels when a ton of people are trying to tell you how to a play a game, I would get annoyed too
He’s gotten mad quite a few times, every stream for this game chat has backseated so much, if his build is good, if it’s bad, it doesn’t matter, and for Radahn all chat said was use summons or do this and that, so he gave up and did it the cheesy way and he said he would do it the way he likes off stream
@@Martoth0 You misinterpreted it. Charlie wanted to learn how to dodge Radahn's attacks and kill him melee + solo, but chat was so impatient. Although obviously we can't trust everything that Charlie says, he did say that he's gonna try to beat Radahn off stream where there are less pressure because you don't have thousands of people complaining about every single thing that you do. It's less about hurting your pride and more about the fact that it's (chat) so annoying.

Yeah legit. I'm at the same place in the game with my friends, but I've done a lot of things they haven't, and vice-versa. Yeah me and my friend I play with both have the same amount of days played in the game, but every time we play- I join his world because I've already been through all the areas he wants to beat. On top of that- he has tons of weapons/spells/items that I don't have. Shit is wild.
You should not compare yourself to his playthrough It looks like he gets informations spoonfed by his chat and he looks up immediatly where to go and where to find the "broken" stuff, its a completely different experience if you play it blindly
Rock Sling gets a buff from the Meteorite Staff. Honestly I've been using Rock Sling on every boss/larger enemies. Ridiculous range and awesome damage, also stance breaks enemies really fast.
Man, they nerfed Radahn to oblivion. When I first fought him I wanted to struggle for a long time because he was so cool, and I felt he deserved to have a long battle. But he’s just so easy now.
@@heatchamps2011 His nerf wasn't very significant for damage, and for the most part had to do with fixing the hitreg on his swords to make them more accurate to the size of the actual models. The biggest change by far was the reducing of the small homing orbs. People acting like he was literally unbeatable before the patch need to chill. The difference is not that significant
I like how Charlie over here, the giga chad that he is, clearly refused to level up HP. I'm surprised he didn't just go get all the talismans that up your stats but lower your defense stats on top of that, screw it, only survive one brisk breeze anyway
‘Rock sling is a terrible spell’ It tracks, falls vertically at the end, has the best damage:fp efficiency, and can be boosted with meteorite staff which has an innate S in int lmao It’s easily one of the most busted earlygame spells Edit: it also deals blunt damage which can be hard to get without a bunch of str investment and a ton of enemies are weak to (fallingstar beasts, crystalians, etc)
@@prestigini3150 I guess it gets easy once you know the enemy and their attacks I'm just saying that it can get a little tricky when using it if someone isn't in the right distance or position since it's range works like a pyromancy in DS3 where it doesn't have much range as an spell would have and it goes in somewhat a curve instead of straight a head like most spells do, I see some similarities with pyromances than spells with that little curve that falls to the ground if your not in the right distance of the enemy
He's like a combination of nameless king and orphan of kos various attack speed and infinite stamina. And beating him with melee will put hair on your nuts.
"Now I get to fuck up Radahn" I felt the same, then I got fucking dusted until I cried on my floor. Beat him eventually but he absolutely rubbed my face against the fucking toilet bowl 32 times.
I fought with him for about an hour upon my first playthrough and in this video I still see him using moves that I didn't encounter in my fight. Elden ring is incredible.
Radahn is such a Sigma Imagine being such a chad that you learned gravity magic despite being a giant, just to ride on your favorite horse. Imagine using your strength just to stop the stars and have it just be a secondary thing. It doesnt even bother him, he still fucks you up.
To anyone who's losing their mind trying to beat him: use Rotten Breath. May have to cast it twice, but that'll 100% kill him if you keep your distance and let the summons get his aggro.
Beating Radahn without summons gives you a whole new appreciation for this fight. I have to say the only bs move he has is the four big meteors in phase 3, those things are fucking homing missiles.
I beat him today and that was the one attack I couldn't react to, i would stay away from him until they were gone. They're so fast and a gaurrenteed one shot.
I love the pure and naive Charlie at the start of this video thinking he can fight Radahn underlevelled, and not using horseback, magic or any of the summons. What a sweet innocent soul.

If someone wants a challenge they can go ahead and fight Malenia naked+club. Calling in every single summon gives this entire fight a distinct atmosphere that never appears again in the entire game.
It's interesting how some bosses can be harder for some than others. I did Radahn with a pure melee build (bleed uchigatanas dual-wielded) and used no summons. Granted I was likely a higher level than Charlie is here, I think somewhere between 60-70 but now just a bit higher than that around 74 I find the Crucible Knight duo boss fight ABSOLUTELY impossible with my current build, even using summons. I only caught this after watching it myself, but Rahdan has attacks where he literally stomps his horse into the ground to leap at you, then the poor horse pops out of the ground right underneath him! Super cool boss design through and through!
