On my playthrough, Radahn randomly decided to stop attacking my summons, make direct eye contact with my character, and bum-rush him at top speed. Never felt more tension and horror in my entire life
He will attack the host and be more aggressive towards, it looks like is some coding they did to the boss because I was summoned by my friend and with my blood build I lower his health so much while he was always looking for my friend while I was doing over 1k damage to his back
in the lore, it's explained that radahn's horse was his most trusted companion and best friend since childhood. later on in life, radahn learned to master gravity magic from sorcerers. after this point radahn didn't need his horse anymore, but he refused to let him go. even after radahn went mad from from the scarlet rot and began feeding on the bodies of those he conquered, he continues to ride his favorite horse, constantly using gravity magic to keep from crushing him...
Lore wise, dude straight up S tier. Learnt antigravity magic just so he could keep riding his horse. Used most of his power to hold back the stars from falling and won against most others using just a fraction of his original power. Dude didn't die to the rot either but slowly went mad with it, but still held back the stars despite all this. People held a festival to give him the farewell he should deserve. Plus Dude comes in like a meteor too and lastly, the music fuckin slaps like a war hymn.
@@geordiejones5618 its actually too good, meteorite staff has S tier int scaling and boosts gravity sorc, so high int and rock sling with this build busts most bosses, its kinda stupid

On my second try i went and summoned all of the summons to see what they do and i used moonveil and when he got distracted by those summons i went and destroyed his health with bleed and then he killed the summons and after he was left just on about 3k hp and i killed him. On my second try. I never felt so cheated in any of the games i ve played. I still hate myself for it. And until now i considered myself fair, except the moonveil stuff. @@FrigidOven he did say that he will beat him off stream. So fingers crossed, I think we will get like a aftermath video. I'm still at radahn myself, so avoiding going further than this video
@@Crabgar yeah as someone who never uses NPC summons in any of the souls games (except against sister Friede, fuck that bitch), this dude had me running around the map touching summons the whole fight. I might try solo on a second play through but I had 35 vigor and he was constantly 1 shotting me
I have beaten it solo no horse and it was not easy but also not hard. Malenia is on another level only boss where i used summons. for now but i dont think the last boss is that hard.
I just started fighting him now. Playing solo it would probably be hard, but since it feels intended to be played with summons, I'm doing that and it's way more fun because it feels like a battle. In summation, after having beaten him, I feel like summons are definitely the best way to fight him. Running around the field in the second phase constantly summoning at a distance saps all enjoyment from it and I would never try it. Just summon at the beginning, play aggressive with the others handling aggro and poise, then in the second phase handle him with your remaining summons or solo for extra fun. It's the only fight in the series where I would recommend summoning, and for good reason. Best boss so far, can't wait to fight him solo on NG+.
...yeah dude. you're supposed to summon all the gold summon signs all over the place, over and over throughout the fight... it doesnt "feel" that way... it IS that way.
@@sudanemamimikiki1527 the horse doesn't seem so normal here 8:46 when it survives being buried in sand by being stepped on, and then manages to dig its way to Radahns current location after his combo ends.
Radahn murdered me so bad my first time around I genuinely thought he was the final boss of the game or something and that I was not supposed to be fighting him yet
He was originally well balanced for being fought after morgott imo. But now he’s fair after godrick and easy after rennala with his puny ass health bar. Doesn’t do his lore justice, unless they bring him back in a time travel dlc
@@pootzmagootzI disagree. I fight him underleveled with no summons and barely ever die. He does a lot of damage but that’s abt it. None of his move set is hard to dodge.

Killed him with my greatsword and using Determination, waiting for the right timing and dealing massive damage when I got an opening. I was kinda high level tho, about 70, idk what level people usually fight him but I've been exploring so much that I got to him at a pretty comfortable level.
Boy he expected some sort of lousy knight, not Star-motherfucking-scourge Radahn, I'd have legged it too if the yee-yee ass Tarnished thought I'd tank that dude for him
Wait, really? Where does he go? Like just starts running away &, doesn't help at all? Lmfaoooo that's funny af. Shit, I'd run too if I could, but too bad we have to fight him. Or else I'd be with patches booking it the fuck outta there.
"I wasn't going to use my horse" "I'm not going to use summons" "I'm not going to cheese him with magic" Flash forward 10 mins in the video and Charlie is a new man lmao. This fight was also intended for summons imo its like a raid boss and you have to summon your raid. Its also a crossing point in a bunch of quest lines for those characters
@@JB-nl3xy lol there are 6 instant spirit summons IN THE BOSS ROOM and I know for a fact 3 of the people you summon talk about going into battle with you to fight Rodan for their quests. If that's not the intended way to fight him idk what else would be
I had to change my claymore into a blood claymore with the bloody slash ash of war. Did him in 2 after that, I was only level 60 though I probably should have just leveled more before him
Took me like 80 tries. And that was with all the summons I used my horse the whole time on my last attempt and beat him so I'm not sure if that's what I had to do the whole time. I was using the golden halberd/grafted blade greatsword and I just kept getting one shot by most of his moves
It's amazing how unique everyone's first playthrough is. I'm further along in the game than Charlie overall but he's encountered a lot of things I haven't seen yet
Yeah legit. I'm at the same place in the game with my friends, but I've done a lot of things they haven't, and vice-versa. It's crazy, there's just so many things in this game that you'll miss if you don't thoroughly explore. I love it, I love all the Souls games, & Bloodbourne, so having another Souls game but open world like this??? I couldn't ask for a more perfect game fr.
Yeah me and my friend I play with both have the same amount of days played in the game, but every time we play- I join his world because I've already been through all the areas he wants to beat. On top of that- he has tons of weapons/spells/items that I don't have. Shit is wild.
You should not compare yourself to his playthrough It looks like he gets informations spoonfed by his chat and he looks up immediatly where to go and where to find the "broken" stuff, its a completely different experience if you play it blindly
He did though, he just didn't keep it in on this edit. Chat was teasing him for not being able to beat the boss without cheesing with summons and magic which he would brag about and be so proud of being able to do in every boss. He got mad, started saying chat was backseating so much that he was just going to end it right quick by cheesing it, however I would bet that the truth is that he said that just as an excuse for cheesing the boss after his pride got hurt by chat's teasing... And then he still ended up dying a few more times even after doing all the cheese strategies, which hurt his pride even further I imagine. But Charlie is a man of admirable humbleness indeed, he just got his pride hurt and lost his cool for a bit that's all.
@@Martoth0 your comment is so stupid bro he has never bragged about anything he just doesn't want to use summons and chat was being annoying stop acting like your a psychologist lol. you have no idea how it feels when a ton of people are trying to tell you how to a play a game, I would get annoyed too
He’s gotten mad quite a few times, every stream for this game chat has backseated so much, if his build is good, if it’s bad, it doesn’t matter, and for Radahn all chat said was use summons or do this and that, so he gave up and did it the cheesy way and he said he would do it the way he likes off stream
@@Martoth0 You misinterpreted it. Charlie wanted to learn how to dodge Radahn's attacks and kill him melee + solo, but chat was so impatient. Although obviously we can't trust everything that Charlie says, he did say that he's gonna try to beat Radahn off stream where there are less pressure because you don't have thousands of people complaining about every single thing that you do. It's less about hurting your pride and more about the fact that it's (chat) so annoying.
To anyone who's losing their mind trying to beat him: use Rotten Breath. May have to cast it twice, but that'll 100% kill him if you keep your distance and let the summons get his aggro.
I only caught this after watching it myself, but Rahdan has attacks where he literally stomps his horse into the ground to leap at you, then the poor horse pops out of the ground right underneath him! Super cool boss design through and through!
Beating Radahn without summons gives you a whole new appreciation for this fight. I have to say the only bs move he has is the four big meteors in phase 3, those things are fucking homing missiles.
I beat him today and that was the one attack I couldn't react to, i would stay away from him until they were gone. They're so fast and a gaurrenteed one shot.
Lol, that's brutal, I actually he was sum end game boss so never bothered venturing caelid, until mid game when I was around lvl 100, I beat him in 4 tries
Honestly, Charlie is a straight maniac for fighting him solo, with that little of health. He gained more respect from me Edit: I see towards the end he started summoning npcs. I don't even blame him, I did too lol
@@Christmas_Johan Really? Why? Edit: I was asking why the twitch chat cried about using summons. Let the man play the way that's more fun and interesting

i find it so beautiful that when Radahn jumps into the sky after half health and it goes silent then the music picks back up as he dives down it is so theatrical
For reference: he indeed could not accomplish this a single time without summons on his first playthrough. He tried everything he thought was, "easy" and failed everything. Don't mistake confidence for performance. He still failed miserably and that's why I love him.
He did say unless it’s really that difficult, so he didn’t guarantee he’d beat it without summons, just that he had successfully so far and didn’t want to cheese the boss with only magic, which he could’ve done solo then when he beat Kadahn said “Didn’t feel great about that”😂
Radahn took me the longest to beat in all of souls history. At the end of the day I charged in, spammed my blood slash art while praying that he doesn't hit. The easiest ways to kill radahm is to either give him scarlet rot or hit him with night maidens mist, or do both they reduce his health by the second incrementally rather than scaled or weapon based damage, then just vast at his ass while the npcs hit him and keep his agro
Man, they nerfed Radahn to oblivion. When I first fought him I wanted to struggle for a long time because he was so cool, and I felt he deserved to have a long battle. But he’s just so easy now.
@@heatchamps2011 His nerf wasn't very significant for damage, and for the most part had to do with fixing the hitreg on his swords to make them more accurate to the size of the actual models. The biggest change by far was the reducing of the small homing orbs. People acting like he was literally unbeatable before the patch need to chill. The difference is not that significant
For anyone struggling, here's some tips : *Start* - His tracking arrows (purple ones) cannot be dodged on horseback but they can be blocked if you stand behind the numerous weapons scattered across the battlefield. - Some of the summoning signs locations depends of your character's position on the arena. (For exemple Blaidd's sign can be found at the far left at the start but also along Patches's sign in front of Radhan) - The maiden's sign can be found left of where Radhan is standing while shooting his arrows (she provides healing while following the player). - Radhan will never shoot tracking arrows while the spears are following you. *Fighting Radhan Phase 1* - The safest place to be is behind his butt as he has only one attack that could hit you (but it is a 360° aoe so watch out). - At 3/4 health he will activate his Gravity powers by smashing his 2 swords on the ground in front of him giving a huge window to dish out damage. - When he pulls you in with his gravity power, avoid his 2nd hit by going behind him. It also gives you time to deal damage. - Blaidd or Alexander can stagger Radhan. If he is staggered, avoid doing a critical strike as the NPCs won't do any damage during your animation. *Fighting Radhan Phase 2* - His "jump" animation (to trigger phase 2) does no damage, take this opportunity to beat his ass. - To avoid his meteor move, immediately ride on horseback out of the way. - Shortly after landing Radhan will conjure forth 4 massive boulders. While doing so he is vulnerable at the back. Be warned these meteors are *INSTAKILL* if they hit you while also being extremely tricky to dodge. They will only start chasing you once Radhan takes some distance before charging at you full force. Best way to avoid the meteors is to run behind the hill on which he stands at the beginning as soon as he starts running away from you. Another way might be to run towards him but I have no concret evidence of success as of yet. The only brief respite from this is he will have to summon them back before he can pull that bs move again. - Another instakill is when he calls upon little gravity orbs. He will follow up with his pulling move, effectively killing you as you take 10+orbs to the face. You can dodge the "pull" if timed right or simply start running if you see him setup the orbs. *Some more infos* - He is weak to Scarlet rot and other afflictions (I used frost on him and it worked pretty well). - By chasing him behind on horseback, you can make the AI run in circle as you beat his horse's crippled ass (look up some videos on how it works). - The most effective way to kill him is to deal enough stagger damage during phase 1 to stun him before he jumps away. By doing this you can easily deal take 3/4 of his health bar. - Recommended lvl is 75 - Invest in healthpoints. Radhan can potentially 1 shot kill without any Vigor (and that dude combos a lot). - Screw this dude and his festival. Please feel free to add more infos or correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck brave tarnished. May -the Elden ring- Ranni give you strengh :P
there are i-frames mounting the horse WHEN moving / de-mounting WHEN NOT moving forward. So just let go of your forward movement control button or whatever console you are using, and unmount for a free dodge. This can be used if you cant get behind cover in time. And the horse sometimes tend to break the weapons on the ground if you get to close.. AND the seeking arrow hitboxes are wonky af and can sometimes go straight through them around the arena. So just practicing the mounting i-frames can save you from wasting flasks before getting to him.
I managed to beat him at lvl 45 and YES he could instakill me but honestly only thing I'd add here is just to be aggressive. Playing cautiously or defensively, especially as a STR build, WILL get you killed very easily. Bleed was a very good skill against him
@@tamiamorton7389 Yea I was a strengh build and got decimated the first few hours. It's only once I went ham on him and managed to get his health to 1/4 before phase 2 that I won. He hits hard and can easily dodge Strengh builds weapon swings as we are too slow. I went with the frozen ice dragon halberd and the many times I missed his ass because his horse just bolted out of the way after he swung his blades... Meh it was pretty enjoyable tho, only move I truly despised was the meteors. Tracking OS moves have never been my cup of tea.
@@silverwolf3625 😂I feel ya on the meteors. Strafing left or right as you see them coming made it pretty easy to avoid (for the little ones) but I had a ton of practice doing the same with mages. I had to kill him fast before he could try the big meteors tho😅those were a mf
Just an fyi. The sword wasnt doing anywhere near the broken damage it does at max +10 and being scaled up with int/faith properly. I do like 2500 damage i believe with the beam. Its crazy.
Rock Sling gets a buff from the Meteorite Staff. Honestly I've been using Rock Sling on every boss/larger enemies. Ridiculous range and awesome damage, also stance breaks enemies really fast.
The summons make the fight feel like a grand war, kinda reminds me of the Burnt Ivory King from DS2. The desert map feels like the fight between Archer and Rider in Fate/Zero
Yeah, I've just been using Hook claws. When he gravity pulls I'd go in on the horse and get Phase 2 fast. Phase 2 gets a bit hairier since the horse seems to work different, or something, idk, didn't seem to be able to just zone in on it and get a fat bleed fast, but overall fight was fine solo.
There's so many amazingly designed bosses in Elden Ring. I just beat the game and I think there's one boss even harder than this guy. @@weaselly_moment I get it, its hard to believe and i did not record anything so i cant prove it with everything i meant everything except my weapon and a ring, just kind of the armor cause i was oneshot anyway by all his moves so i decided to be stubborn And with loosing my save i mean save file, not like a proof that never existed, just the kind of "load from cloud or local data" and i didnt know better and lost my entire day of progress on steam Also i had my screen turned off and played with one foot while eating chips with the other, cheers
I still think there are 2 bosses harder in all of gaming, one of them comes later on in the game and the other is framerate in multiplayer games at the most crucial time

I cheesed him even harder by glitch-following right behind him so he can't ever attack. No clue how you're supposed to beat Radahn legitimately, especially if you're a strength/dexterity build.
I'm level 50 now and tried to beat him. My build is str/ dex based. It's a absolute nightmare. I straight up gave up after 20 tries to level up some more, i might even become a wizard just to beat this guy
After roughly 50-60 attempts I finally managed to bring this guy down solo with no co-op or summons and it’s honestly the most exhilarating boss fight ever made, I’d put it top 3 hardest FromSoft bosses of all time, although I still think Ishin was harder 😂
I don't understand how, unless you're doing a pure magic build. The beginning of the fight is super annoying after the first few times, and actually was pretty annoying the first time too, and every mechanic the dude has is designed to make him aggressively unfriendly to melee. Also, the summons can't even hit him so the entire summon thing only works well if you use it as an aggro draw and are running magic. It's near useless with melee. I beat him relatively quickly at what's apparently a low level and it was still a terrible experience.
@@aidenmclaughlin1076 I was running pure strength as well and beat him while incredibly underleveled, but I just didn't find the fight fun. Glad you enjoyed it though. To me it felt like a spectacle fight but not really good from a gameplay standpoint.
@@aidenmclaughlin1076 Yeah it's not like I hate this fight, I honestly think the fight could be awesome but it needs some reworking imo. ie make summons actually able to hit him/raise summon damage, maybe add more cooldown between attacks, stuff like that? Also they definitely need to reduce his damage. I wanted to learn how to solo him, but I just couldn't deal with the walk of shame while being pelted with arrows only to die in one hit. I'm not sure what they could do about the opening but that's the part that annoys me the most.
Bruh this boss. Today I found him and spent like 1-2h on him and beat him with 0 heals and like 5% hp left. It came to the point I couldn't summon more than one person for some reason and then it was just him and me (also the healer girl but she was far away) I think that since the hitboxes are so good in this game he somehow missed the sword slam while I was under him and I got my final cut in. Such an epic fight and also I have to agree probably the hardest in the series (pretty sure it's 100% the hardest if you do it solo without summons)
I love the pure and naive Charlie at the start of this video thinking he can fight Radahn underlevelled, and not using horseback, magic or any of the summons. What a sweet innocent soul.
Man I used rot breath and still had a hell of a time with him. One of my favorite fights so far though, he’s brutally difficult but consistently feels fun. Big fan.
I just used a blood Dismounter and bled him to death. Was still hard, but more managable. The most difficult thing in the Radahn fight is to figure out when to use Torrent and when not to.
@@TheBakingYeast Yeah that's a good weapon too. I am sticking with dismounter cause its +20 atm and the 🩸 is insane. I think bleed will be my strat through the whole games at this point. 😅 Might respec and go mage in new game + though.
