Ryanair finally has a worthy opponent.
As the title says this is a compilation of some of the hardest Southwest Airlines landings. We all know Ryanair is the European god at hard landings but I think Southwest is the American god of hard landings lol.

0:56 For anyone who doesnt know, that was Southwest Airlines flight 345. The landing was so hard and the reason why you can hear a loud screech at 1:00 because that was the nose gear coming off and the nose fuselage where the nose gear is was scraping the ground violently. This was just one fatal emergency landing. Engine Failure...

0:54 That was SWA345 landing at LGA. Pilots fighting over the controls caused the plane to land nose gear first (which it is not designed to do) causing it to collapse and slide across the runway until it stopped in the grass, there were 0 fatalities. The plane (B737-700) was written off and scrapped due to extensive damage.

i’ve flown southwest 2 times and every time the plane landed on my flight, they buttered the landing, and right on the touchdown zone. even during a storm when approaching MCO.

737s are hard to land. They always float above the runway because of the wing design so the pilots have to very firmly touch down the aircraft.

You can actually use the floating to your advantage. I do these landings in X-Plane 11 and most of the time they are very smooth

@@KerbalHubdoesn’t mean safe. Floating eats up a lot of runway and usually means a go-around for us. X-plane 11 is not comparable to the risk of having 175+ actual people behind you relying on you to not overrun the runway.

@@KerbalHub X-Plane will never compare to the real world. Weather and atmospheric conditions fluctuate. No two landings are the same for a pilot

I never experienced this southwest hard landing but at 0:56, that was scary. Thank goodness I didn’t get on that one I will died (not eventually but still be injured.)
