As someone who literally beat all those devils and kingdom with Pink Yaris as well be friends with all woman racers, this game is such a wet dream for JDM & Touge lovers

As someone who has 100%’d the game, I can confirm that the early and late game can be quite tedious… but it’s sad that he didn’t get past Stage 2 where the game actually gets really fun.

this game is a dreaaam, definitely one of the best racing games , i still play it again and again when i get bored from other games, it creates a unique world to play in and live the true JDM mountain street racer hero .

I had zero problems with the games menus. My lack of tuning knowledge was my only issue. That and CAT sponsers.

100%ing a TXR game is one of the most tedious, pointlessly difficult things i’ve done in a racing game. That being said i’ve done 4 of them lmao. Genki President in his S2K is always a good time. That being said, as others said the further in the game the more fun it becomes. I hope you come back kuru!

I mean i 100% the game. I didn't mind the menus. BUT THAT S2K ON HOKKAIDO IS THE WORSE RACE I EVER DONE. My god it rubberbanded like matt from UG

the game is for people that enjoy RPG/Simcade/immersive mechanics. you actually have to read as well as take into account tuning, engine types and drivetrain here. Thats just how these games are. If immersion and soul are not for you, play NFSU, or Forza.

As one that enjoys your content, i literally couldn't finish this video because of just how much griping happened and skipping everything. Then the cheating money in before he got further into the game to be able to use the sponsors to the fullest as anither gamplay factor, amazed me.

I do agree that the menu is unnecessarily complicated, but I gotta disagree with the game being grindy. The thing is, night battle pretty much the only thing you need to do, you could stick with one or two cars, every other race is just extras, heck you could tell if a tuning combo is working by seeing the amount of power you get from highlighting the 2nd parts so at most you only need to buy 5 of the first parts. As much as I love this game, I really can't see this being more than a niche series. I mean I don't even think suspension upgrades improves your handling, just lighter and more adjustable, and the gt wing give 0 downforce unless you change it

Honestly, this type of game you need a guide for finding some rivals especially at later game.

I remember this games handling was very car dependant, FWD or 4WD were fine, the RWD were super sensitive in a weird away. Pretty cool game though with all the parts tuning (that mostly mattered) and special events (hidden stuff during the day/night and specific calendar days) but kinda tedious

This is one of the most confusing series of games I have ever come across in terms of regional releases. This game is called Kaido Racer 2 in Europe, so you'd think Kaido Racer 1 would be the same as Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Drift 1 then, right? Wrong, Kaido Battle 2 is actually Kaido Racer 1. Drift 1 wasn't even released here in Europe at all.

I agree the early 4-8 hours are so slow but after stage 2, it becomes faster and mid to late game because you have higher paying sponsors you will get more money than you will spend, I finished the game 100% with 200 million and having 45 cars sad that you didn't go through the rally stage some stuff are only written in the game's book when you buy it irl, like it has that the road tires are used for gravel and rally, spoilers and canards add downforce also the ROM upgrade should apply automaticaly, you shouldn't go to the garage and tune the car to its max power and RPMs, its good thing that this upgrade enables you to detune the car but it should automaticly tune the car to its max

For me this is the best racing game of all time alongside GT4. If i was Japanese and had a wheel it would be undisputed. The main downside in this game for me is very poor AI and reliance on certain metas in late game. If this game actually took off, single player racing games would be THE genre today and in the future. Game was way, way ahead of its time. If you compare it to Carx Drift, the Carx feels soulless and unengaging in comparision. Or just compare NFS Carbon canyon runs or Pro Street drift mode to this and you'll realize that NFS was and still is made for preteens and the simple minded.

Kuru, if you dont like txr dont play them anymore, i get the new txr is coming and ppl are noticing it but you're just complaining every vid, play what you like. This vid wasnt even nice to watch

Im not understanding how you could hate the ui or even care for the matter.. it like you just burnt out from gaming so much and now that your almost to your mid 30s, gaming just not it no more for you, i dont even think a break can help you anymore as you probably is just growing out of gaming... Yeah, if you're trying to drift in this game, stock tunes won't cut it. You really have to tune the car at certain extent to be able to drift. And even that if you know how to initiate properly, cause this game has wack weight shifting.

Yeah the US name for this game is misleading, drifting for me on PCSX2 and keyboard on a narrow touge stage is kinda hard :) But I like the game and always wished Genki would make a game that both has Highway racing and Touge racing/ drifting with all the other features like day/ night cycle and quirky social stuff. I actually softlocked myself with taking the AE86 first, 80HP aint much and money is rare at start. I started over with the CRX :) Whats annoying is that you have to load into every track to see if there are opponents or not, also the " rally stages" in the middle of a race always trip me out. Game is praised for alot stuff you cant find anymore and has a few suprises, but is definately jankyand weird in some aspects :)

This game is a good lesson on how game design was shit back then...

The only reason ppl play this and willingly sit through its tedious anything, is because it's from Japan. And we all know how "Thing, Japan" is always romantisized

honestly, even after 100% the game twice, i cant blame kuru. this game can get infuriating at times especially how hard it is to master drifting. i still love the game due to the sheer content it provides
