NEW 0.1.2 Guide is released! Here you go: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XoFRVAZH8R4.html Hey guys! I've updated the guide using your amazing feedback: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-puejBulSKeU.html It also includes Power Generator and ECU extraction. Free play is really useful in this situation. I spent about 2 hours dissecting the various geckos and I brought by extraction of all major systems down to 8 minutes (coolant, reactor, engines, generator, and fuses). If certain areas are pressurized you can use that to shave some time off as well. But the first time I saw the gecko I pulled up my sensor and did not know what the hell was going on lol
@ghostsheet79

agreed. I think it wouldve been better if they gave us a gecko cargo transport instead of a gecko station hopper as a stepping stone
@MrCoolguy425
@MrCoolguy425 4 года назад
theundeadbox tbh, the transport is easier in my opinion, as you only need to cut out the aluminum floors and then strap all the chairs to the barge after pulling out the floors. The cargo is a little harder because a lot of the hazards are out in the open and likely to get cut.

Removing the fuses is acctualy very easy the pulses are on a 3 pulse timer pull on 4th pulse when it turns white click F to remove the fuse there are normaly 3 fuses 2 on side and 1 on top closer to reactor. Btw the pulses go slightly faster the more you remove.

Be warned: there is a bug currently where the game lets you pick up the fuse boxes after they've popped out. When you do, it will YEET YOU towards where you pulled it from, so you will basically get electrocute AND have your skull caved in from the acceleration.
@Posichronic
@Posichronic 4 года назад

@@artuno1207 I found that out the hard way... @procrastinatinggamer
@procrastinatinggamer 4 года назад
Other key locations I've noticed is that some end up under the main compartment, or below one of the airlocks. I've come across one floating in the thruster room. They should show up as purple on the Scanner's objects mode (the one that also highlights consumables like oxygen tanks in purple) but they're that small that they can be easy to miss. As for the fuses - you have to time when you use the switch. Don't touch it until the moment all three lights on top are white. That'll pop the fuse safely and you can then grab it, no risk of electrocution whatsoever. If I think of anything else while I'm watching the rest of the video I'll edit them in here. EDIT: Not related to something you talked about but one little trick I've been using to move quickly between the ship and the hab is to use the grapple like a grappling hook - if you try and reel in an item that's much heavier than you (like say the entire ship) then it'll instead pull you towards it. And while you could injure yourself by running into it at such high speeds, your magnetic gloves actually seem to stop you entirely and safely no matter how fast you're going (provided the gloves are what contacts something first).

@@Akabane101 Happy to help. There's another movement trick I'm trying to work out the trick to where you just tap a glove button for a moment or so and you launch yourself forward. I think it'd only really be of use if you're clambering across the length of a ship's exterior or maybe give you a headstart on the trip back to the hab before you grapple-reel it, I just can't get the timing and what direction to face right consistently yet.

Just a heads up. When you are grappled to an object you can hold down the right mouse button to pull it to you if the object is light. If its significantly heavier than you the grappler will pull you towards the object you are grappled to. Very useful when moving something like a coolant or fuel tank through a tight space. But it also is useful for making the trip between the ship and your hub much faster than with your thrusters. Great tutorial!

I think that is actually the way. You pull the nanocarbon, then you cut the side away from the ECU away with your stinger, then you just pull it straight out sideways and tether it down. The only trick is you have to do this after you salvage the rear of the ship, but frankly, those 9000kg nanocarbon panels are like 400k each anyways, so it's not a big sacrifice to do so.

@timmietimmins3780
@timmietimmins3780 4 года назад
I would note a couple things. The thrusters are not actually attached to the thruster cap. It's much faster to just salvage the rear side panels, with the thruster caps attached (they go to the same location) then pull the thrusters straight down into the barge (this also removes any fuel tanks from the area so you can manually vent the thrusters with no consequences other than a pretty light show). It's much faster to pull the reactor out the side, as you can just destroy the glass, the upper and lower plates below the glass, the 3 sections of reactor containment facing you, then you can just pull the reactor right out sideways and tether it into the barge naked, and you can do this with the fuel still in the lines. I have been doing this a bit and I am pretty consistently getting 1600 LT and 7.5-8 mil credits per day just ripping out the basics and getting all the nanocarbon. Which is a bit of a shame, the game really doesn't reward you for being thorough or not damaging the ship. It's all about just getting stuff off and into the processor and barge as fast as possible, and getting a new ship every day so you always have 50k components to be salvaging for most of every shift.

My approach, while similar in the end, is slightly different: Yank off the entire outer hull on day 1. Yes, the entire hull. You'll spend parts of days 2 and 3 ensuring the chunks make it to the processor, but the idea is to just get it ALL out of the way. Day 2 is reserved for ship's engineering systems. Engines, reactor, power generator, cooling system. Day 3 is carving the inner hull up into chunks that can be fed into the processor. I don't bother with furniture or internal consoles unless I'm spamming work orders.

I had a very different method, that did use the emergency lever. Difference being I first disconnected all the aft hull plating which I then pulled away from the thrusters. After removing the fuel canisters, I could safely pull the levers. Sometimes there would be fuel leaks for a few seconds, but seeing as nothing explosive was around to blow up, it was no biggie. I also pulled out the coolant last, just in case something were to go wrong, It helps to be able to open up a coolant pipe near the area that's heating up.

In my ignorance, I started slicing up attachment points left, right and centre until I grazed a coolant pipe with the good 'ole splitsaw. In my desperation to figure out how to get the now very unhappy reactor out, I ended up getting lost between the hulls. It quickly descended into the "Grab the cat" scene from Lethal Weapon III. I ....... just......made it out in time. On the plus side, access to the inside of the ship was much less of a problem......
@burnin8able
@burnin8able 4 года назад
I just figured out the thrusters, fuel lines and reactor casing are all one part but not connected to anything other than the coolant line, so if you just take out the coolant line from the bottom reactor cap where it connects, you can pull the whole assembly out in one piece and get the reactor all the way into the barge without even triggering the meltdown in the first place. It only registers the bottom reactor cap as being in the barge at first, so you have to pop off the reactor casing and disconnect the reactor, triggering the meltdown sequence, but you just have to scoot it over like 2 meters and then the barge will accept it. Same with the thrusters, just flip the switch and give them a push and you're done.

How do you deal with getting the giant panels to the processor? My furnace keeps stealing them whenever one of them just slightly slides into it's gravity, super frustrating.
@Akabane101
@Akabane101 4 года назад
The ones from the rear I tend to need to attach them to those "X" like structures above the spaceship. That way I can safely tether them into the processor without accidentally getting them sucked into the forge, as I've run across that issue before as well.
@timmietimmins3780
@timmietimmins3780 4 года назад
If you look, ahead of the processor, the bay sticks out into space further. The key is to pull them back and out slightly so they clear the thrusters, and then just tether them with about 5 tethers straight forward ahead of the processor. With 1 minute tethers, overshooting the mark is not really an issue, and most of the time, they get sucked into the furnace because line of sight got blocked because you tethered the far end too far back in the processor bay. If you tether way out past the tether bay, the tethers keep draggging and can just power past the furance. Also, obviously, line up the tethers so the piece doesn't have to rotate. there is a large flat spot on the panels to pull from, but you do have to actually have line of sight to something that is facing the direction of pull. That was what I struggled with initially, back before I realized how many tethers were breaking just because I tried to use them to attach large components from really off angles, instead of standing basically in the path to be pulled along, and having clear line of sight to both surfaces.

Also, try working from the front of the ship to the back. Pull the panels out of the way toward the back like in this video until you get rid of the outer hull more forward.

Ok, so, 2 things for anyone watching this vid: 1) The reactor will now immediately go into meltdown the second you pull the coolant after the latest patch. (pretty sure this is addressed in the v2 guide, not sure yet.) 2) I'm fairly certain the method of vaporizing the connectors isn't intended, so I'd try to find an alternate solution just in case. My method (thus far, still figuring it out for myself): 1. Detach and secure all nacelles. 2. Find and vaporize all cut points necessary to detach the 3 large hull sections that make up the back of the ship, use tethers to pull them away. This gives safe access to the fuel storage. 3. Carefully detach and secure all fuel storages. 4. Vent each thruster with the manual valve, then remove and secure each thruster. 5. Prep a path for the reactor as best you can. DO NOT CUT OR REMOVE THE COOLANT UNTIL YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY READY. 6. Make a path for yourself to quickly make your way from the coolant module back to the reactor. 7. Remove coolant and QUICKLY cut the pipes at the reactor end as necessary. 8. ??? 9. Profit
@Logiwonk
@Logiwonk 4 года назад
You don't need to pull the hubcaps - you can just cut the purple boxes in front of the thrusters, unzip the whole frame (cut all the frame cut points in "limbo") and pull the thrusters out that way, saves time because the hubcaps also go in the processor like the nanocarbon shells they are attached too.

Oh man! This is so much easier than how I got it out the first time! I did everything wrong! Had a minor run in with the ECU (when you took the door off it I was like "Nooo! Really?!?!" lol), used one of the valves on a thruster and caused a slight explosion (only that 1 thruster and corner of the ship was affected - made it heaps easier to see wtf I was doing!), cleared away all of the pipes with the split cutter beneath the reactor, and it would not come out! Turns out it was jammed a little off-kilter as I hadn't been pulling it straight down (good tip with the square on the barge as a target!). Eventually after plucking the top and bottom and the sides off the reactor it came out, and went to the barge no problem. When I came back on day 3 (same play session), it exploded on the barge! Very entertaining - and I still got credit for it! :-) Thanks for the very helpful video Arkbane101! Subbed.

And currently, that's the only safe way without a key I guess. I tried to melt the fuel lines with the stinger on my second try. Bad decision. I almost got the critical reactor to the barge tho. Almost... (1st try, I accidentally ruptured a coolant line in the "limbo" section... and all hell broke loose...)

so this is a great guide but id do it slightly different, even pulling everything out properly the reactor can still go critical. ive found the best way is to deal with the fuel, then pull the back of the ship off and then do the coolant so if it goes critical then u can do a quick hack job on the pipes and get the reactor into the barge b4 it blows

I've already created a new guide detailing the more intended way of dealing with this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-puejBulSKeU.html Although you can still stinger the purple blocks, the other guide shows flushing the system with the emergency flush system (obviously using a key is safest, but I like to show how to do it without a key). The Reactor will only engage meltdown the moment both the fuel and coolant lines are disabled. So take your pick on which to disable first and second. As long as you're careful and time everything right, you can still extract the reactor the exact same way shown here and in the other guide.

As of last night (I think), they released patch 0.1.2 which makes it so when the fuel line AND the coolant lines are disabled, the reactor will begin it's meltdown sequence. You can still extract it in the same way (I'm editing a video now showing just that), but I would suggest waiting to disable the final line of your choice to first prep the reactor for extraction. In my followup guide, I show a quicker method to cut the pipes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-puejBulSKeU.html Hope this helps for now until I get the new video out!

I also was entirely unable to pull the melting down reactor out the bottom despite the pipes all being removed. Edit: After a second attempt I did manage to get it to work, but only by removing the coolant as the last step (aside from cutting the coolant pipes) It came out fine this time.. I think the first time I left a piece of pipe attached to the reactor, and even though it was just a tiny section that was itself detached.. it seemed to have locked the reactor in place anyway.
