Another nicely detailed and helpful guide. Hope this helps people like myself who were unaware of a lot of the details and differences available on these accessories.
The SEM module is worth it's weight in gold if you are a miner in Star Citizen. The default control for mining laser power is the mouse wheel. That mouse wheel will get you killed rather quickly, as it just doesn't react fast enough. I remapped that function to the SEM and no longer have any issues. I haven't blown my self up in a long time..
Yea I use the module for mining too. And the buttons for turning off and on individual things like engines, shields and guns etc when going stealth. So useful as I’ve already used up all the other keybinds on both sticks 😂
@@DiggitySlice Anything other than the mouse wheel will work fine. The mouse wheel is just the wrong tool for the job. You will blow up due to the lack of control.
@@VerticalBlank Same here, had to deassemble the T16k to make it work again, around 2 years of use... (Worked nicely after that though) Then the cat destroyed the cable Now i'm hesitating... Omni Throttle, or Right Gladiator ? 🤔
I bought the MKIV rudder pedals to replace my Thrustmaster T-rudders. I was so impressed with the quality of pedals and the precision they had over the Thrustmaster pedals that I bought the Omni throttle and am loving it. My right hand Gladiator will be here in a couple of days to complete the set.
I also own the GNX EVO (upgraded), the T.Rudder Pedals and the SEM. I used them all the time for DCS with the Trustmaster T16000 Throttle. I recently got into DCS and after seeing all folks using HOSAS I decided to try it myself and used my old and cheap right handed Thrustmaster T.Flight X in my left hand. Even though it was pretty uncomfortable it did work so good. I flew so much better and felt invincible. :D So I'm gonna get that left hand Omni Throttle controller now. :) Thanks for the 5% voucher. It saves me at the shipping costs.
Hey brother. These guides you have been making have been fantastic. I just finished your mining guide and you just showing raw long format mining has been greatly appreciated. I am an early backer and come back to the game when life allows it and always get a bit frustrated with all the little refreshers I need to get back in when interested. Your channel has been invaluable. I am looking to hop in today and know that within an hour I will have my Space Legs back and making some money. I actually own a Freelancer Max but I am going to go Zero to Hero because this looks like so much more fun. First time miner. Keep up the great work!
Interesting, I have no problem differentiating between trigger stages myself, on both left and right sticks. It required some time to get used to it, but there is quite noticeable resistance before second stage.
I love that you can upgrade just about everything I bought Glad evos with a left omni but after getting some Crosswind pedals was able to change the omni to a straight joystick and lock off both twists. Also I’ve just ordered the Gunfighter MKIII base to upgrade my right aiming stick which gets the most abuse and doesn’t have such a hard centre which is my main gripe of the evo’s
I've used TM's in the past and the problem I had with them, and it seems to be a common one, is that they develop "stick drift" rather quickly. You can fix this by replacing the Potentiometer, but they still don't have quite the same build quality or control options as the VKBs I'm using now. Perhaps something to save up for in the future!
they changed so much so fast and leave old stuff kinda obsolete. i have the glad base they made right before the evo or NXT and i dont think they have and upgrades for it to support the angle handle
You just sold me on these for the end of the year! Thank you for the video and the info! When I’m adjusting the tension I want it to stay on the throttle when it’s forward but reset if I pull back. For the pitch I’d like it a little tighter. How should I go about setting these up?
The tension is set for each axis. As I understand your request, you want a thrust axis that stays in a forward position when pushed forward, but recenters as you push back? The same spring is used for tension, and I don't think you'll be able to differentiate between forward and backwards. You might be able to accomplish something close with a lighter spring and some clutch. For the purchase axis you can easily swap the spring out for one of the stronger springs that comes in the box.
Not sure about their build quality cause I got nothing else to compare it to except for cheap trash like Logitech and Thrustmaster, but their customer support is amazing. Also mine came so heavily lubed that I ended up completely removing the dry clutch screws. But maybe that's just a preference based on me being new to flight sticks.
As a canadian, the problem I have with VKB compared to Thrustmaster ot Logitech is it's importation, as mentionned in 11:22. So you have to factor in the transport fees and the possibility of duty fees. The result? I can buy 4-6 Logitech extreme 3D for the price of a Gladiator NTX serie joystick. I know the comparison is not fair because they are 2 different league products but you get the idea. Thrusmater quality seems to have gone down a bit and prices up so, IMHO, VKB beat them when it comes to price/quality ratio.
I'm using Predator Mounts, and I'm actually a partner of theirs. If you use coupon code "RedMonsterSC" you can get 5% off. www.predatormounts.com/?aff=7
Great insight on the Gladiator. You’re the first channel that has shown the white detent on the throttle. Is that new? Thanks. Edit: I was thinking of the THQ but it’s a shame they couldn’t apply the white detent blocks to that for afterburner and engine cutoff.
!!!Help Needed Guys/Gals. I have at present a ''Thrustmaster Base/ F/A-18C Hornet HOTAS Add-On Grip''. I an now looking to buy an ''F-14 grip'', which would you recommend, and could i attach it to the Thrustmaster Base?. Kudos
I talk a bit about this in the video, but if you get a Gladiator NXT EVO with the Omni-Throttle Adapter, you can lock the Y-Axis in place with a plate so that it acts like a true throttle. Having the Omni-Throttle adapter rotates your grip by about 4 degrees which should feel like a good angle. I don't have experience with other dedicated throttles, although VKB does have their GNX WWII Throttle which could be a good option.
Ok that's a lie... *The metal base is NOT enough for "when flying gets intense"!* And no I'm not some bulky guy, I'm pretty average. It's not even enough for moderate use! Half the time I can't tell whether I am still moving the stick or already tilting the whole base, so these sticks (like 99% of other sticks to be fair) should be mounted!
