The more I watch these episodes, the more I understand the kind of high standards in terms of voice and instrumentation ARR wants to work with. Whosoever has been asked by ARR to collaborate / work with him, can be identified as a top-class singer or musician, even if he or she has worked for limited time for ARR. ARR has a very keen EAR to spot talent. There is no mediocre work with ARR. Best, best and ONLY best product will go out of that studio. Thank you Mr Umesh for this series. It is so much educative.

Contrary to the above claim, many of ARR’s songs are mediocre, especially in the recent times. More increasingly he is repeating himself, and has reduced himself to an assembler of technology. Melody and originality are missing in his music.

@@lunamilo2065 His earlier compositions were damn good, and I love them. But his music has been becoming increasingly more irritating and repetitive. People are afraid to call out the emperor’s clothes, that the emperor is nude. He has also developed a predilection for flat voiced singers who cannot modulate . May be he should take a sabbatical to renew himself.

If I compare motion picture as a dancer, I should compare AR RAHMAN sir's music is an anklet to the dancer's feet. It is most important ornament to the dancer enhances outcome.   Each droplet of the anklet sounds different and dances in a different style. And droplets are like vocalists, instrumentalists, chorus makers etc.. have distinct qualities to produces great music.   The brilliance of ARR sir is he knows how to use these droplets (these great artists), able to attach to the string making the whole music great. Being attached to the anklet , droplets have freedom of making its own sound and moment. Like this, ARR gives freedom to people who are working for him, takes out their inner talent and at the same time have a control on to extract what is needed for a movie. ARR is master. He ensures his team succeeds individually and succeed as whole package. ARR knows how to use such great talent as droplet of an anklet to bring great music the movie. In one word ARR, Knows how to keep the marriage between film and the music last long for ever.

Your written matter says ARR has changed, but as Hariharan says, ARR has graduated. And this is because he wants to explore something and go beyond the usual. For someone who didn't fully understand Hindi when he did ROJA to what he has achieved today, it is his zeal to explore, and even surpass his own expectations! .

Why are you not doing an entire episode about the Thiruda Thiruda album. It is the best experimental albums of AR Rahman. If you don't know just explore and give us an episode on it

Once a reporter asked (during sometime in fag end of 90's) ARR as to how he is able to fulfill the need of all the age groups with his tunes. For that ARR said something like , he used to work on lots of Ad jingles and commercials in the 80's and in the beginning of 90's,.. during that time when the Ads composed by him came up on Tv (Doordarshan days),.he observed that school kids and teenage people used to run towards the their Tv sets to watch and listen to his Ads....this surprised him and gave him a better understanding, as to what exactly people like and prefer in his music.

Song "Tu hi Re " Rehman ji has given tremendous treatment according to situation, Location & feel of Character is so Melodic which glorify the Song .Roza Song treatment is absolutely, Ruhani with the Beauty fiction of Hariharan ji Voice. These things only Rehman ji could do no one else.

Yes, I second that. These ppl contributions too should be highlighted in the series for which their bytes about their combo songs are a must. Can't do away with just Hindi singers and songs alone! Esp. Chitra ma'am is another musical singer prodigy who anyone loves to listen. Somehow, certain singers despite achieving big don't enjoy that adulation all over which even average Bollywood singers also enjoy! Anyway, Waiting for their views too about ARR. Then only his 30 yrs 🎵 musical celebration 🎶 can be complete!!

@@sanoopkp4102 In a way, Sadhana Sargam's career was revived down south because of Arr as she got her golden break there much like Udit Narayan and Hariharan. In a way, Udit and Sargam's careers have got a new lease of fresh air bcoz of Arr though they were popular in North but couldn't be at the top owing to Alka and Kumar Sanu's awwal number status!

This seems to be JAI HO concert of May 31, 2009 from PUNE. Because I was backstage as part of the Drummers section. This is definitely Rapport Global production because of the stone-age backdrop made out of bulbs mounted in aluminium vessels. LOL !

Your original track is too good, but sometimes you add your own tunes which totally spoil the beauty of song. Hence try to stick to the original track without making unwanted gimmicks for this is not Carnatic music neraval
