Tari Ji is an inspiration to all tabla players. Even Zakir Ji stated this. When it comes to ghazal and folk he is untouchable. His classical solos are raw and totally improvised on the spot and his style is amazing. His tone and laykari is amazing. I can go on all day. A true tabla legend. Very humble and always ready to help students around the world. Love!!
@@varungautam8826 Ustad Zakir Hussain is amazing in different types of music, including Ghazals. Not that much experienced in Ghazals like Ustad Tari Khan, but instead more experienced in Worldmusic.(Both are amazing in these two fields.) In Classical music they are very magnificent in their own way. These 2 Legends are from Punjab Gharana and share the same Grandmaster late Ustad Miyan Qadir Baksh.
zakir ji legend hai...tably kay..per tari khan sahab diffrent class hai not for comparison..khan sahab ka ik ta hi kafi hai charo khane chit kerne k liye
aik Tari sub pe bhari king of sunghat kia kehne ap he ka kaam hai ye rehti duniya tak ye kaam koi nahi ker paye ga Allah apko lumbi aur sehat bhari zindagi aata kere amin
These are just the laggi portion of the ghazals. The purpose of these videos is to highlight Tari saab. You will need to listen to the full performance to properly judge.
My dear listeners of this sangat they both are one of their best in their fields of music the one thing to enjoy when big guns are nailing is to enjoy the lay kaari and they both within themselves are enjoying we as a spectators can enjoy just the understanding between them
This video only shows the best moments of tari sahab , not the full concert . So if you are an idiot enogh to not understand this than better shut up .
Are you crazy to make such conclusions? This is a collection of like 8 ghazals in the mehfil and it only includes the parts where Ustadji has played laggis. You might have mistaken this video to be 1 ghazal LOL!
A great accompanist is the one who supports and enhances the singer's performance, and not show off his skill where not required. In stead of harmony, Tari Khan's performance was like scoring points on Hariharan. Frankly couldn't enjoy even one gazal.
This is just the laggi exerpts from two ghazals. Here are the two links of the two complete ghazals. 1) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P9N1z_d6lqw.html 2) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vjDdSyicFfo.html
Hello Friend. First of all thank you for this upload. If you can, kindly let me know the lyrics or the album in which the last performed gazal is available.

The Tabla is sounding too loud. The video is too focused on the tabla in my opinion. Being a tabla player I say this. Tari is no doubt the good in accompaniment but one should understand how to balance the music and by not always playing laggi. The song can easily become a lehra and that's what one should avoid in accompaniment.
Hi Sriharish, First of all I think it is wrong to compare the 2 musicians as they have a very distinct identity and playing style. At the same time everyone has a right to their own opinion and should not be judged based on opinion. Coming to the facts, Zakir's style is heavily influenced by classical style and as a soloist. At the same time he continues to excel in accompaniment with many great musicians such as Hariharan. Tari has gained most of his identity as an accompanist and less as a soloist. Most of Tari's solo performances lack structure and continuity which is why he has not yet been clearly distinguished as a soloist only a accompanist. Going back to your comment of 1 being better than the other. If any musicians amongst the 2 is better, it is Zakir. A musician who is more versatile always ends up winning the compare battle.
The term "Jugalbandi" itself means to compete against each other, which is what Tari is doing. But what one has to understand is that "jugalbandi" does not continue throughout the full song. It ruins the effect of the ghazal and all of a sudden becomes a lehra. The jugalbandi has to be a mutual agreement which in my opinion is something that Tari needs to work on. Having Tari sit with Zakir won't prove anything. They are both great artist and to compare them is to not understand music at all. Like an Orchestra, the composition must be balanced and 1 musician should not overpower the other unless both have a mutual agreement. Like communication with others, we must wait for the other person to finish before we can start our conversation. But the conversation only takes place when there is a mutual agreement. If 1 person is constantly talking and the other is listening, the communication is imbalanced. Music is just another language to communicate...
I am afraid I would have to disagree here by saying 1 is ahead of another in any aspect. Zakir's and Tari are both commercial artist and play for the general public. The only reason that Zakir is more commercially known or popular is because he is a great solo performer, speaker, versatile, and adaptable. The biggest point to be noted here is being a great speaker because that is what sells to public all over the world and versatility towards being an accompaniment player as well as a soloist. Both things that Tari unfortunately does not possess. If we are talking about playing offbeat, than I am afraid that there are many compositions of Zakir that you may not have heard. Again I would like to conclude by saying that they both are great artists and should not be compared.
Jay M hahahahahaha dont be jealous dude may be u should teach ustad tari khan about tabla remember people forget singer if tari khan plays tabla all just listens tari khans tabla not singer and for your information tari is best sunghat tabla player in the world not just in pak and ind mind it dont teach a legend first of all u need to learn i hop u understand again dont be jealous
sorry to say..but hariharan is not able to sing in the tune of tabla..this is where true legends are made..watch vidéo of nusrat saab and ustaad tari..you will see f difference
I admire 2 things of Indians: 1: Their love of Music 2: Their honesty in judging and not differentiating between Pakistani and Indian artists when it comes to judgement or praise.
Jafardeep Muhar paagal insaan leh tari khan badha raha hai but fir bhi hari haran leh se bahar nai huye. Aur vaise bhi tabla ka sound zyada aa raha hai.
Its the duty of the tabalji to match the singer and not vice versa, get your facts right before commenting. Both hariharanji and ustad tari are legends.
