If Homestuck were a musical I imagine this song sung by Nannasprite and its like friend like me from Aladdin but instead of all the gold and shit it's all baked goods
Here's a little fun fact. *Spoiler Alert* The reason why Harlequin and the Carnival are so related it due to the fact that Gamzee was the reason why all the Harlequin dolls were there in the first place. Same for why Dave deals with the smuppets as well. It was a sort of revenge act for Dave showing him icp. And due to that, that is the reason why everything was so joker based for a while at the beginning. So I would assume they made the themes similar non-coincidentally.
I only read homestuck to the cool first cutscene, the fully animated one, with john standing outside and seeing the neighborhood, or further, idk. I was in the fight with dad, and I kept hitting him, thinking it would do something. how in the hell can I be a noob at a web comic?
Glad I joined the HS community when I did. Pretty sure I'm the only one not halted by the giga pause but glad because it gives me a chance to catch up! XD
The giga pause will never end. Its a magikarp battle. metapod battle. metapod on magikarp battle. mewtwo on ditto action. slaking gets encored when using splash on a level 1 rattata. ghost pokemon who only know normal moves battle. IT WILL NEVER END! IT JUST WONT HAPPEN
Never got too into Homestuck personally, but from what I read i appreciate the story. Now, I aspire to create a story that people remember and will love for generations. The soundtrack really gets me into the writing mood, like i can sit down and write 6000 words all because of this soundtrack.
This song fills me with emotions I can't even begin to describe. It's like bittersweet. It makes me think of childhood, and how I wish I didn't waste it, but it also makes me think of the events that will happen in the future. I have to go through them whether I like it or not, and this song reminds me of that probably because I associate it with John, how he was just a kid before he had to go on the emotionally draining journey in Sburb.
So like when I was a kid I had this friend who liked homestuck a lot and she would tell me about it constantly. And she showed me this track once, or like another track with the same leitmotif. And then I promptly forgot about it. But like, I didn't forget about it. So then like one time late at night it just kinda came to me. And I couldn't get it out of my head, but I couldn't remember what it was, so I was like. Fucking scared shitless because I was like what is this and why will it not stop playing in my head. And then like years later I remembered it was from homestuck. Whacky.
Something something Jevil. What? With only one visible arm, a torn up face, and incomprehensible gibberish, John’s sprite was obviously the inspiration.
I think Harlequin and then all the other songs related to it are actually the exact same tune, with different beats or additions to it, because it's a joker-y trickster esque feel.
Listening to this playlist i am learning that every tune i hum where i forgot where i heard it came from shit listened to on youtube or homestuck in middleschool i have graduated highschool 5 years ago
Isn't this based on actual harlequin music? I can't find one that sounds like it, but i remember hearing it other places before Homestuck even existed.
"Poorly done" in comparison to high-profile chiptune artists and the very best of actual NES game music, maybe, but that's setting your standards really fucking high. What we have here is better than at least 90% of real NES game music.
