Let's just put it this way, I came into some found money and decided that thirteen Harleys was an unlucky number so I bought a new 2023 FXLRST Fast Johnny enthusiast edition and swapped out the 117 for the 131. In my 56th year of riding and have a 2013 V-Rod in the stable among the other ones and I believe it Fast Johnny rules the roost.

Beautiful bike. sounds amazing , I had a soft tail Deuce 1550 with upgraded oil pump Highlift cams, large Mikuni .2 in to 1 what system exhaust called a BOOM can , which I purchased in 2000 from the Harley dealer called downtown Seattle and had it shipped to England UK it sound amazing and awesome power 120+ if you fancied hanging onto it , which I brought brand-new , 20 years ago. A woman that I've been with for 17 years decided to mess me up financially and mentally and I had to sell my bike. At least I've got my life back alright I've lost my partner I've lost my bike but now living in part of France which is beautiful I just wish I got my bike to ride around the mountainside . I ride sports bikes much more often, high revving engines, first got my VTX1800 I was bouncing it off the rev limiter all the time, lmao. redline is like 5200 I think... I'm curious as others have mentioned, wonder how the heat is in summer in FL on that monster. My 1800 is water cooled and it gets quite toasty... but then so does my R1, it easily sits at 225-230.

That kit is for Touring only because it comes with a new header with cat (EPA/warranty compliant), but all components are available separately so can fit a softail but no EPA/warranty if you do

I've heard that the reason why these aren't available for Softtails is the way the engine is mounted is different from touring models and there is some part incompatibility but that Harley has plans to release a kit for Softtails in the next year, don't know if this is true but it is scuttlebutt I heard from my local dealership. As for one of these vs a Livewire, I'm thinking in the 1-110 the livewire wins, with all of its torque being avaliable on demand, being significantly lighter and without the need to switch gears. That said iirc the Livewire has a governor that stops the bike going faster than 110 mph, that touring bike doesn't as far as I'm aware so it should win (eventually) because it'll end up out speeding the Livewire.

I bought a lowrider s yesterday with a 131. Dyno sheet says 156 hp 166 tq. First Harley I’ve ever owned that will hold the front tire up under power to pass a car.

Would be awsome if there was a helmet that had heads up had tach speed and other info . On that did you see theres a helmet out there that has some heads up features. Mostly speed and map info but you can voice command and also connect to your phone.

$23000-28000 out the door for new Road Glide or Road Glide Special. At LEAST $10000 total in parts, labor, transmission upgrades, intake, fuel management, dyno and other stuff for a 131ci. A 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 will outperform it in every way for $23000. That is why Harley stock is tanking.

What a slug Call fuel MOTO and make 30more hp. Screaming eagle is a joke it’s all designed to work together for epa and bases their tuner now off having a catalytic converter . Dealers just download maps from their screaming eagle website. There no true “dyno tuning”. FuelMOTO made my 2017 SG make 121 hp with just S&S mufflers and catless headpipe and their cams and breather . I’ll drag that 131 down the highway.

Even with this 131ci monster of an engine; it's still much less powerful than an out-of-the-crate 2018 BMW GTL K1600 which is the reason l traded my 2017 HD CVO! If l'd return to HD, it would nonetheless have to include this motor... who knows.

Mr. B......The Harley upgrade it’s nice but the after markets are still so much more better. They are cheaper more horsepower and more torque. It’s still disappointing Harley has either not put the 131 in the CVO’s or doesn’t have more.

Get rid of that SE TB, there garbage. Been there, they are cheaply made. 70-72mm TB is what it should have on, S&S or HPI TB. You will never look back.

I dont know enough about motorcycles, I'm building one to learn as I go, building on an unvinned bobber frame, Harley Iron 1200cc, custom painted coffin tank and rear fender and skeleton theme everything chrome. I think a 1200cc may be a bit much for my first bike, especially in a bobber, but I cant wait to learn

Ya they may seem more powerful (they all need it) but then some little 600cc sport bike comes by and blows your doors off! Alot of noise (which most of yo want anyway) but less performance than most other brands. And the price? Ya, I thought so $$$$$$.

I own an 18 heritage 107 stage 4.. Dynoed with power vision software. 12.37 hp 120 lbs torque.. it doesn't run like that with the 515 cam.

I wonder if they put a beefed up clutch on it. The touring clutches are a harder pull, but the proper clutch for that will require Popeye forearms. The problem with these is that people get so giddy over the acceleration, they miss the important things, like is it dumping hot air on your legs like 1200 W hair dryer? How is the on throttle fueling? Is it smooth and linear or lurchy? Didn't look bad in the video, but cameras have gotten good at smoothing the jerky movements. Does it come with coupons for discount tires?

Yeay it is cool but...why though. When you step back and take off the fanboy goggles what are you really getting? Higher insurance, higher fuel consumption, and if nothing was done to the rest of the bike handling will be compromised when the roads curvy. I know we all can be fanboys but we all know that most of guys who have this engine will be the classic cock. Every brand has those people, the cocks, and this 131 is going to be a magnet for those guys. And that alone kills the 131 for me and many other riders.

It's all great to have the biggest harley motor. But my opinion is, I don't even fell like i'm missing out on my 88CI Dyna. Most people that have these ridiculous motor size aren't rider enough to utilize all that power and you are also limited by the suspension and the overall bike itself.

Ive been riding motorcycles for 30 years and Harleys for 15. There are 2 things that will keep me off a new Harley. Their failure to stand behind their bikes. The new bikes are over priced. That combination is deal killer to me.

Does not meet California emissions and probably not Euro 5 compliant for Europe sales. If Harley wants OEM motors, like this, to be sold to all 50 states and Europe needs to be water cooled like Indian Challenger had to do.

sounds like they didn't do anything to the clutch, swing arm, etc. you need to beefen that stuff up when you go to displacement that big. especially when whoever buys this and really opens it up with a better exhaust, a tuner not handicapped by the EPA like a power vision, and a different cam. buddy of mine put a 124 on his road king and one thing after another broke and needed to be beefier to handle the torque and power. whoever owns this will spend thousands more eventually.

Before you drop the dollars putting a 131 in your softail, take a 2500cc Rocket 3 for a ride. It's 150ci.

Harley Davidson is dying. Way to expensive and then you need more $$$$ to fix it. Honda goldwing all the way 250,000 miles on mine and never an issue.

Ok, you can get that engine in the Road Glide, but what I want to know is can you get it in the Road Glide Ultra ? I’m older now and will even admit it so it’s time for the touring bike, and for me thats a Road Glide Ultra. Can I get the 131 stage 4 in that bike?
