Like the new 135 specs. I'm from California, and although we can't get performance parts directly shipped due to CA emissions, no one runs stock. Big bore kits, heads, throttle bodies, 124's, 128's, cams, suspensions, all pretty much standard upgrades. We have some epic coastal and mountain roads. Unfortunately, with epic taxes. You don't have to smog shit after you buy it. Bummer we have to pay 20k in upgrades after paying 30k for a bike, to make it run right! Stock Harleys cause erectile disfunction!
Hey man, how’s it going. Just caught your video. Cheers. I just purchased the 135 last week. As of right now, it’s a 30 day lead time to get it. I did NOT have to buy the HD header. I am able to use my 2-1 without breaking the warranty (maybe it’s dealer choice). I did buy the new new SE tuner to see how it goes. If I don’t like it I’ll put PV back on it. From what I was told, because I have the PV married to my ecm now, the SE tuner will over write it, naturally, but my ecm will still red flag. No big deal. I did go with the cooling fans on the oil cooler and the one that blows on the rear cylinder. Gets hot in the south. Mechanic will take a week to install and dyno tune. Cost around $2.5k. Cheers and great channel. Subscribed.
Have the 131 in my Tri Glide 2019. Have 11,000 mukes on it with no issues as of yet. Thinking of putting this new 135 into a RG3 but first have to ride one to see if I will miss the watter cooling ability before going big bore. Am not concerned about any warranty issues because if it brakes I will just buy another one. Great Video.
There’s a part of me that wants to put one of these in my FXDR, but then I think - if I want something actually fast why not just spend the money on a busa or Yamaha R1? Stock they smoke any Harley with a 135 and it’s not even close. Still, the FXDR with the 135? Haha
That be true, but you know, it ain't a Harley, and it ain't about speed, it's about owning one, riding one and liking the noise of one. Harleys always were about that - you could always get a faster bike, but that's not what they're about, is it
I’m all about more power. However, I’m NOT about all of the warranty requirements. I’m also not all in on the $8,000 buy in. I’m just going to stick with my 114 unil the warranty runs out and drop a new cam and a new tune in my current engine. That should be enough power to get me and Pebbles where we are heading on time. Thanks again Man Mountain Mike for your insight and information on the new 135 HD engine. I really appreciate the work you put in here Bro. This has got to be one of my top three channels on RU-vid & #1 for cutting edge, new intel on HD.
Gotta have something to dream about ain't ya! Ok, not everybody wants one, but don't dump on people who do is my motto. I don't care what wheels you ride, what bike you got, or how you roll - just loving bikes is good enough for me. It's like women, or books in a book store - you can't have 'em all, and thank heaven's we don't all like just the same one - but sure is fun thinking about riding the Hell out of 'em. If ya got 'em, smoke 'em!
HD said that the 131 would not fit a trike either; however, there are many YT videos about guys putting 131's in their trikes. They say that it bolts right up with no alterations at all. The only reason HD says that it won't is because of the mapping, which a good tuner and dyno operator can easily overcome. So knowing that, what is the difference between a 131 and a 135? Probably nothing!
Great to watch again. Took mine to Alaska & back. Big balls. Convinced I need an after-market performance header to move more air. (staying within warranty of course). Any suggestions? Would a retune be necessary?
I don’t have enough experience with any particular headers except Rush Racing Performance, I don’t know if they make anything for this motor. If you get more air flow I would do a retune.
Great job on delivering the stats. Sadly I can't see me out riding my 107 let alone this awesome beast. And even though many will not admit and think otherwise lot of riders probably don't and will not outride what they bikes either. For me would be throwing money away. But, if money to burn heck yea. I would have fun blipping the throttle ticket to ticket lol.
Exact combo I’m looking at right now. It would look sweet in an RG-ST. I currently have a Fatty with an S&S 124” putting out 116hp/136tq….. I’ve been holding out on upgrading my bike until something came out with a 150/150 engine. Not sure I’m ready for a big ol’ bagger yet though. Lol
It’s just cool Harley makes a race motor. They didn’t have to. And there will be a market for them to all the haters hating on the price. Lot of people out there with a lot of money , so chill. A bad ass motor from Harley no matter how ya look at it. Designed at the track makes it awesome for sure.
I would not say I'm hating on the price but I'm not loving it either. How much profit does HD need to make off it's customers? Why should the HD customer base bailout HD for their Livewire debacle from jacked up bike and parts prices? Some of us are about over the HD tax already.
Nice job with the video! However, do you have more information regarding the compatibility of this engine with 2017 and up touring models? I am coming across various information regarding this issue (including-yes 135 will work on earlier models…17 and up). Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!Thank you!
It is an M8 so it may be adaptable to earlier models but the official info from Harley Davidson is 2021 and later touring chassis. Like most things with enough time and money almost anything like this is possible, my guess is there will just be more things that would need customized. Sorry don't have more info yet. I am sure someone will do it and we can learn from there build.
You said power is 130 hp and 143 torque for this new135 crate motor... The 2024 CVO ST 121 is 127 hp and more, 145 torque. Would have guessed higher numbers
@@RidingintheOzarks I had a 131 that was unleashed PV tuner & stepped header and extreme air filter and full fuel in all gears mike it would pull to 100 MPH in third gear , it was a absolute beast on my now gone CVO S/G it was scary fast , I am now on a 2023 LRST with the 117 engine that’s enough for me
A great video Brother , but to fit only 2021 touring models up .? I have a 2021 Breakout still under warranty, just a question from OZ , WOULD this fit my Breakout ? A Softail frame but is this classified as a touring model ? hoping you can answer my questions? I guess a ETA to Australia would be impossible.? Cheers.
I have no idea on ETA, someone else heard it could be fitted to a softail but I can’t confirm that and expect it might require different mounting hardware or exhaust maybe.
@@RidingintheOzarks the Twin Cam “B” engines got shafted hard in the Softails. I had to split the cases and bore them out when I went from my 103 to a 124. A lot more expensive than just buying a crate from S&S. Worth every penny though when some hotshot on his dyna tries me and gets spanked by a Fatboy! Lol. Wouldn’t be surprised if the M8 Softails are in the same boat.
Harley has always inched their way along the performance route to keep sales up. A few horses here and there and a few cubes at a time has locked the enthusiast to continual purchases and never really “ GETTING THERE.”
Right! I bought a 2007 rocket iii for 6500 bucks and the last Dyno I did was 155hp and 150tq... It don't even have cams let alone cnc head work or some other crazy stuff. Never understood the Harley performance thing.
People like to upgrade their bikes, simple as. Some of us just like Harley's so why wouldn't we like to pimp 'em? I don't like buying bikes made in Thailand@@godackgudalach1
Or, if you really want power, get a street bike so you dont have to piss money away. Also, you can put a turbo kit in any M8 thats just over $7k that will outperform this 135.
@@beri232 You have no idea what you are talking about. You might not like the way they look but people who dump gobbs of cash into Harleys generally dont care. Anyone complaining of leg comfort is usually too tall, and "inexpensive as hell" is a pretty ignorant comment. Trask turbo kits are about $7k and that doesnt even include installation. Turbo kits are a far better option than pissing money away on Harleys largest engine, but, if you feel like thats your best option than go right ahead. Harley has been in business all these years by sucking in the gullible.
@@RidingintheOzarks Its great they are bringing the performance stuff to market. I'm an HD rider and a track day racer. I think they're starting to finally see a huge untapped market. I'd love to try an HD on a track!
@@RidingintheOzarks Couldn't find that vid unfortunatly. But, the way he gets the Bagger to turn at Daytona is amazing! I could only wish to be that good.
well, depends how many extra pounds you throw on top, what tyres you use (some brands are dreadful), how you use that throttle, and how you think about safety. The rest of the bike is personal preference, but tyres are always the thing keeping you safe. Nobody said riding big bikes is cheap
Welp.... I was going to get the Harley 135 for my Fast Johnnie.... Harley required me to buy their exhaust pipe.... I have a HPi pipe... I'm better off with a 135 from Monnshine!!! "F harley"!!!
How much torque and horsepower do you need, How fast does anybody want to go on 2 wheels on the street, Seems like a waste to me .. Just my opinion 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Pardon me RR but why do you care how much torque or HP someone has? Who are you to determine how much power another person has at the twist of a throttle? May I suggest you stay in your lane with your comfortable power level and the rest of us will do the same. Yes! I believe I will suggest that and just did. I’m out for now and y’all keep powering it up and as Man Mountain Mike says, keep on ridin.
wow, i enjoyed this channel because it was about bikes, now its really about endorsements about jewellery? 20% of the video was about jewellery. unsubscribed
Thanks for the feedback and sorry to see you go, truely. I have done 2 sponsored videos that were not about bike products, it is not like it is every video or every month even but the sponsored videos help pay for the trips and gear and software. I don't want to drive people away so I will consider your comment before accepting a sponsorship in the future. Ride safe.
Pardon me SB but you are unsubscribing because man Mountain Mike does a sponsored vid.? Da F? I'm sure Mike has costs to cover making these vids. + the tmie he puts in here. Mike is not putting out some low budget, lame azz content here. Cut the brother some slack or yeah...move along. 🤐
@@PeterAngles-ks9fp so if there a piece a shit why do you watch videos about them? I have never in my life had the desire to ride a sport bike… each to his own.
