I got mine with the roswell pickups. And it sounds just like a stock sg. Which was what i was going for. They also allow for dynamic playing. I never was a fan of active pickups just because the dynamics get lost
The hb ex-84 is a good value but the neck shape and stability are its weaknesses. At least on my ex-84 the neck likes to move weekly where as my two Esp ltds on the same rack stay perfectly set which I find odd since the Harley Benton has a much thicker neck than my Ltds or the snakebyte. I have thoughts though to Mod the ex-84 into a mini snakebyte eventually. The size of the snakebyte is just to big for me.
I was surprised with the body thickness on the ex-84 when I got mine. It's thicker than the bodies of my ex-360 or fx-401. I found this review to be informative. As cool as the snakebyte looks this comparison convinced me to stay with the Ltd ex series and not pursue getting a snakebyte. I would also note that the Roswell pickups in my ex-84 started to sound different after 4 months of use. I replaced them with EMG 81x and 85x which cost the same as the guitar itself. I would say the Harley Benton is excellent value as entry level or as a Mod platform. However Esp Ltd is much higher quality at a much higher price.
@@soulofanewmachine oh wow :( well I guess I gotta put better pick ups on it. Where did you get the EMG ones? I'm from Mexico and here I haven't seen any of those
@@richie7532 I bought thru a local shop to me. They had them on a discount so I thought I will try them out. EMG does sell direct to consumer and offer international shipping. Don't know about Mexico. Also I would try the roswells for a few months. The ones I had became noisy over months of use not right away. Possibly a quality control issue.
I'm a bit late, but I had a question regarding your Harley Benton. How did you manage to get one without the cut out on the bottom where the strap button is? All the listings I've seen of this particular guitar have a cut out for what I'm assuming is to avoid a lawsuit from Gibson. Are anymore around out there like yours that are available?
Never late ;) This version is from 2020, they had no cutout then. Now you can only find them, if you're lucky, in used guitar listings. I pre-ordered from Thomann in 2020 and even had to wait a few months for the guitar to actually arrive.
The neckdive on the HB is real. Very very annoying. Anyone found a good fix? And the neck is really fat. Though as I see in the video, not by much compared to the LTD. But I can play my Ibanez a lot better without much fatigue. 😅
In the mix you can’t tell that much difference. Me personally I couldn’t justify the extra cost of the LTD I have a LTD AS-1 and a mesa amp so I know the difference between cheaper gear and higher price gear and in this case I wouldn’t spend the extra money.
It's tough to say, without me trying the EX-200 first. But the Benton comes with EMG, the 200 doesn't, i think. If you can try both, go for the one with least neckdive
Theres no doubt that the Snakebyte is the better guitar. Harley Benton are great budget guitars though. I have owned several. The Amarok in particular is great however the Snakebyte is in a different league
Where the pickup heights the same for both guitars? What if you put the Hetfield pickups in the Harley Benton? I have an LTD snakebyte and I several other ltd's with EMG 81 85 and there is a pretty big difference between the Hatfields set in the 81, that's all I'm saying the difference here might be more about pickups
@@Fartinhalerr Of course, the difference are the pickups as well. I'm showing the guitars as they are, in the same conditions. You can always modify guitars afterwards. But the point is to show each as they are, so you know what you get when you buy each one.
@@megahurtz30my nephew has this same Harley benton, I'll play it when he comes to visit this summer. It'll ge cool to play the snakebyte next to the HB, I think for 350 bucks you can't beat a HB with a proper setup. At least for entry level players
Notice how they sound almost the same? If the pickups really are that big of a deal for you it’s cheaper to buy the Harley Benton + new pickups and install yourself than to buy the LTD. Just saying
Yeah, I hate to say it, but the tone is terrible. For the distortion, it sounds like the tone knob was turned all the way down and the mid knob was set to 0. The clean sound is also bizarre, almost like a fake computerized MIDI tone.
Yo quitte à avoir la guitare bah bosse la main droite et main gauche ! C’est le poignet droit qui travail et replis tes doigt et main gauche petit mouvement et synchronisation ! Courage
There is NO comparison! the Snakebyte is 1,000 times better! don't waste your money on the cheap Harley benton! you are better off saying up for the real deal! trust me
