Just got a Harley Benton HB-35plus with the coil split feature. The guitar came completely perfect. I can't find a single flaw and it's well intonated and plays beautifully. It's hold tune and I'm loving it. What an amazing value. Mind blowing.

How is the coil split? And awesome on the quality of finish!

@@yaguitar You just pull out the volume knobs for each of the pickups to turn them into single coil. Pushed down, they are humbuckers, pulled out they are single coil. It's not a pure strat-like tone, but it's a cool sound that adds variety to what you can do with the guitar.

Oh fab. Make sure you come back and let me know what you think. One tip, get some lemon oil fretboard lubricant. They sit in warehouses for ages, so the fretboard may be a little dry. I use Kyser lemon oil.

The fretwork and set up was good, but the fretboard was very dry.

Hi, yes it's not really an electro acoustic, so won't be loud enough without one to use properly

how thick is the neck 60s or thick ?

It's a bit of a tree trunk! Reminds me of some Les Pauls I've played in the past.

@@yaguitar thats sutch a shame harley bentons are great guitars but thats the one major fault in my opinion the necks are just to thick ive got 2 HB les pauls and ive had to slim the necks on both of them id buy so many moor HB s if they just made them with 60s profile necks they are such lovely looking guitars

@@kevinalanperry yeah, not.thst big a deal for me, I find it quite comfortable. I do sand the gloss off the neck, just to make it a little smother to play.

It's not ideal, the quality checking can be a little hit and miss these days. How bad is it?

I’m not sure why reviewers don’t like to set up guitars before they review them.

It's a good question. The issue is, not everyone knows how to set them up, so I don't want someone to buy this guitar, take it out of the box and except it to be set up like my review guitar (for example). I could start doing an out of the box vs tweaked simple set up and another video on setting up. (I have got a 5 tips to get the most out of HB guitars video here).
