thanks, need to do some more research, one thing I did do though that you may want to consider is I installed the Trask tranny cover breather, you really need to vent the M8 motor to relieve the crank case pressure, you can look at alot of RU-vid videos on the subject, thanks again
@Slking507
@Slking507 Год назад
It is already being relieved. That isn't the issue. The issue is oxygen depleted air, and oil vapor being dumped into your intake. That is what the trask cover is for. You can do the same thing at home depot for less than $10 though.

Men I watched this video like 10 times now😂😂 love the sound, I just installed the bigger S&S manifold intake and next month planning on installing the 30/30 to ! Did you only do cam or also camplate en tensioners etc ?? Ride on !!👍👍

Thank you! Cam and tune. Stock throttle body and intake manifold.

@@ThrottleFreedom I also installed the 30 / 30 cam, great cam, I would suggest replacing the plastic intake manifold with an aluminum one, I went with the S+S 55mm, however, you might want to consider the Horse Power Inc 62mm intake and throttle body and go to 55 gram fuel injectors, I did go with the S+S cam plate, oil pump and lifters, what HP and torque numbers did you produce? did you have your bike dynoed? thanks

How’d you tune the cam in with the PV4, remotely? Or dyno guy?

Did you get a custom tune from fuel moto or are you using one of the canned options on the pv4?

Fuel moto sent a tune since I bought it from them but I had it dyno tuned

Hey bro how you liking the pv4 ? We’re you able to get it dynoed on the pv4 and did you end up replacing your lifters as well?

Yeah I did but there weren't any maps available at the time not sure about now. I did replace the lifters and injectors at same time. Stock tb and manifold

Sounds great! I just ordered the 3030. Question. Did you have to change the springs and pushrods? My HD dealer is telling me I have too and charging $1,800 for labor. Is that right?
@ThrottleFreedom
@ThrottleFreedom 6 месяцев назад
Thanks man. No need to change springs with the 3030. I think it's when you get above .500 lift you have to change springs. If you're running stock push rods they'll have to cut those and put new in. If you have adjustable push rods they don't have to cut.

you have a larger engine than I do, I have a 107, however, I'm interested to know if going to the 5.5 gram fuel injectors would help my HP numbers, my dyno numbers are 105HP and 125 ft lbs of torque, I'm using a S+S 55mm aluminum manifold intake instead of the stock plastic one, Fuel Moto has a chart / graph with regard to the size of your injectors based on the amount of HP at the rear wheel and it seems that my stock injectors are the correct size? just don't know, I;ve read that going to larger injectors without the HP numbers makes your bike sluggish down low, I was thinking about going to the Horse Power Inc 62mm intake manifold / TB and the 5.5 gram injectors. I would love to hear the some opinions on this issue, thanks in advance

Fuel Moto mentioned upgrading injectors with this cam on a fb post.
@ThrottleFreedom

I'm no mechanic and new to Harley's so I'm still learning as well. From what I understand it's worth upgrading to 5.5 or larger injectors on all M8s after upgrading exhaust, intake TB/AC, and cam.
@Longslyde1
@Longslyde1 Год назад
I did 5.5's on my '23 Breakout 117 with Star 30/30 cam, S&S Intake, and Freedom Turnout 2 into 1 stepped head pipe exhaust. Stock TB (55MM) and AC (Heavy Breather is stock). Thundermax ECU. No dyno yet, but she rips hard enough for me! INSTANT throttle response off idle. Probably the best I've heard to be honest. No idle or tuning issues thus far.... will trigger traction control, but the roads are still cold up here. Still on break in. If you already have a 55MM TB, I really don't think you'd notice a big enough difference to warrant a larger throttle body in stock RPM ranges even with a cam. And unless your duty cycle is above 85-90% (basically maxed out) on your current injectors, bigger ones won't help your HP numbers either. But I will say, exhaust is a HUGE factor. If you're running a 2 into 2 and went to a GOOD 2 into one with proper head pipe, you'll think it's a different engine. These engines need that "Header" effect to flow well. Just my $.02. Only had a couple warm days of riding so far up here before another cold snap... waiting for warm weather to return. Good luck to you! Ride safe! 👍
@michaelthompson7001
@michaelthompson7001 Год назад
@@Longslyde1 hey man, I appreciate the response!! I'm SUPER interested in knowing about the "header" effect, I'm running a 2 into1 with the "stock" headers and a Rinehart slip on, no cat, as it was in the muffler, I've been told that the stock header flowed well and was fine, do you feel that I would improve my performance / HP numbers by adding a full exhaust system? if you listen to George Bryce ( Star Racing) he recommends a really long pipe for the M8 motor, which with the slip on, it is, just wondering if the addition of a header / full exhaust will make a huge difference? man, that 23 Breakout is a badass bike though, let me know your thoughts, thanks again , I appreciate you
@Longslyde1
@Longslyde1 Год назад
@Michael Thompson I didn't see what model bike you have. But on my Breakout, the factory pipe just had a crossover tube, I'm sure if flows OK, but there are definitely better options. If you're on a touring bike with the long 2 into 1 into 2 system, this would be a different story. Take a look at some different 2 into 1 systems out there for your bike then look for reviews, especially ones that may include a dyno to back up the results. 👍

I would love to see the zero to 60 times on this bike, and how much you weigh. It looks like this bike picks up and goes QUICK. I'm looking to replace my SE Torque Cam with a serious Stage2 aftermarket cam, along with a 55mm manifold and Air Stinger(more airflow). I cant decide between the Star 3030, Woods 22XE, CR-480, or RS468.
@ThrottleFreedom
@ThrottleFreedom Год назад
I'll try to get a video showing a pull from a dead stop, I'm around 215-220. Yeah it ended up coming down to the 30/30, F35a, and CR-480. Felt like the F35 was a little more lift than I was looking for requiring new springs. Ended up doing the 30/30 for the extra TQ down low rather than more HP up top.
@FranBunnyFFXII
@FranBunnyFFXII Год назад
@@ThrottleFreedom I'm looking at getting the 22XE because it has just a shy bit more torque but a bit more power, but it has a HUGE early torque curve, and it creates peak power before all the other cams, 5660RPM. It's got the widest torque curve of any of the stock lift cams, and it makes almost as much power, and it has a 470 lift, which is easier on the springs than the 485 lift of the Star 30/30. With the 55mm intake, big air clear filter, 5.5gram injectors, FuelMotoUSA got 120.8hp and 127.4TQ out of the 22XE, and it hits over 100TQ at just 2250RPM.
@michaelthompson7001
@michaelthompson7001 Год назад
did you end up going with the Woods 22XE? a great cam, I was torn between that one and the 30 / 30, did go with the 30 / 30, my torque numbers were great, but my HP was a little disappointing, I'm really interested to know if by going to the 5.5 gram injectors increased your HP and if so, what are the numbers? thanks
@ThrottleFreedom
@ThrottleFreedom Год назад
I went with the 30/30 as well. 130TQ and 107HP which is great but disappointed with my HP too. I've seen the same 117 motor with 30/30 cam and same exhaust make 130&120 with stock TB and manifold so idk.
@ThrottleFreedom
@ThrottleFreedom Год назад
Hell yeah great numbers. I consider the F35 but went with 30/30 due to stock springs and little less aggressive cam

Need some different pipes brother them short pipes rob HP give moonshine Harley Davidson a call they will lead you in the right direction

@ThrottleFreedom Год назад
I hope to leave it as is for a while, maybe one day if I get a bagger I'll try out some long D&D pipes but for the LRS I like the short pipes
@dillonalexander9606
@dillonalexander9606 Год назад
They don’t rob HP. Short pipes normally lose Torque in the bottom end. The pipe he runs is designed to help eliminate the torque dip on the low end. This is the same pipe Moonshine Harley guys would use anyways. It’s just better to run that pipe with a bigger CI motor and cam set up.

@@dillonalexander9606 i haven't seen a single dyno chart where this thrashin ar pipe DOESN'T have a dip in the torque curve off the hit. For all they have going on with that pipe it does not perform like they say it does.

So far so good, pulls really hard but I haven't went on an actual ride yet to put any miles on it. Made 130 TQ but my HP numbers are a little lower than I was hoping for.
